John Christopher Construction built an ADU to my exact specifications, worked with me on a daily…read morebasis, and brought the project to completion in the budget allotted. Ours was not an easy build due to the fact that we had to excavate quite a bit as the ADU was build in to a hillside and near a slope to the rear of my property. If I had to focus on one thing, it would without question be communication. I was assigned a job foreman who guided me through the entire process, listened to my needs, provided me feedback, and helped me along the way with all the little changes that arose during the build. We made a few changes along the way and we were given clear communication of the requested change, as well as a fixed price for the change. The use of sub contractors is a part of any build and each of the contractors selected were respectful of my property and my neighbors, did an above average job, and were a compliment to John Christopers team. I would advise anyone considering an accessory dwelling unit to choose this contractor for the project. We spent a lot of time selecting the right contractor and were even led astray by a few. I can honestly say from my perspective, there's no-one better suited to build a detached ADU than John Christopher Construction. Before choosing John Christopher, we viewed several of their builds in process as well as spoke to some of their employees and customers. We would be happy to host potential customers as the pictures I am attaching to the review don't even come close to doing the ADU credit.

Enter Travis Clark from John Christopher Construction who made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel seamless from start to finish. Not only did Travis oversee the complete rebuild of our entire downstairs, but we also added a brand new master bedroom closet and did a full master bathroom remodel. Travis and his entire team were incredible to work with. They were professional, reliable, and detail-oriented. There was never a moment I doubted the process, the trust, or the quality of the work, which says everything. We've used Landscape Locators the last few years for bi-weekly yard maintenance. Both the front and…read morebackyard has turf and no grass so there really isn't that much to do. There is a hedge by the neighbors wall that needs trimming every few months and there are also some palm trees that need the dead leaves to be stripped once in a while. The service was decent at first but has gone downhill. The property is a rental so we are not there very often to check if these tasks are being done. When we went down last week we noticed a very overgrown hedge on one side while the adjacent wall was trimmed and there were lots of dead leaves left on the plants. We ended up cleaning up the dead leaves ourselves and I emailed Kevin and sent him pictures of the overgrown hedge. When the gardener Nicolas came the following Monday I asked if the hedge was trimmed. Kevin said no and said it's because it's by the pool equipment and it was too tight for him to go in and trim it. This is BS as the overgrown hedge was on the outside of the pool equipment area. Even if he had to go inside the pool equipment area there is a lot of space and not tight at all. Instead he asked for $295 to remove the hedge which is ridiculous. My neighbor also told me he has observed the gardeners don't do much. They just walk around with the blower blowing dust around instead of doing any real gardening. I don't think I am very demanding but if you don't do your job and ask for more money to do it then it's time to find a better service elsewhere.

First impression Matters. Process Matters. Follow-through Matter. Promise Kept Matters…read more First impression matters because from the first phone call, I did not quite know what I wanted. I had a laundry list of things that I had in mind that included painting of the house, remodeling the bathroom, redo the cabinet to accommodate a built in coffee maker, and a slew of other items that I wanted done. All of these needed to be done within a two week short timeframe. This seemed like an impossible task during that phone call. I spoke with Karen and she was able to capture all that information in about a two minute conversation. We scheduled a consultation with Kevin and about two minutes later she was able to recap that information on a calendar invite. It was a very clear and concise list of things that I needed to get done. Later, I was incredibly impressed with Kevin during my consultation. He did not try to upsell me any product. He was very transparent, upfront, clear and realistic with what can be done and what cannot be done. I was very concerned that the project could not be done within the two weeks. After I explain to him why I needed the short time period for the project to be done. He was compassionate enough to move some of his projects to prioritize my project. His team was on time every day and worked on my project nonstop every single day. Unlike prior contractors that I had worked with who came and worked a couple hours each day, Kevin's team was here every single day of the week, working a full day each day, They cleaned up after themselves every day and they were respectful and professional. Kevin was very responsive and was in contact with me every day. He answered all my questions and followed up with me on all my concerns. It took a complete two weeks, but Kevin and his team completed our project as promised. We are extremely happy with Venguard Construction, their personnel, and our finished product. In today's high paced world, it is refreshing to come across a company who truly puts the customers first. We recommend Venguard Construction and Kevin.
