On November 4th I went to get a hair cut. I was listing to a customer being very disrespectful to the stylist cuting his hair. I felt extremely uncomfortable and upset at the same time. When he was done and walked out my stylist told the poor girl that was disrespected if she was going to talk to someone named Becky and the poor girls response was sad. She said why would I tell her anything if she don't care. They don't care how customers treat us or if they affect our health. I asked my stylist if that was true and she said unfortunately yes. This is why I don't recommend this place. How can a manager or owner allow for the employees to be disrespected and not worry about the personal health of the employees? read more

Located in Canyon Crest area, it was busy, which means that they must do a good job. Since it's in the upscale part I thought that they would have the $20 haircuts. It wasn't like that. My son needed a haircut so we decided to try it out. We walked in and there were about 8 hairstylists busy cutting people's hairs. I came in and they asked for my information and told me it would be about 15 min. My son who is 1.5 y/o sat in the corner where they had kids books and some kids toys. When it was finally our turn, I decided to have my son sit on my lap due to him being curious and a ball of energy. We gave him a sucker to have him sit still and she went to work. My son kept complaining and moving around, but she was very patient and understanding and handled herself like a pro. when my son dropped his sucker she gave him another and she was talking him though the whole process, this made me feel more relaxed as the father because I tend to lose my patience with my son relatively quickly. At the end they gave him some stickers and the total was $12, which was great! I will be back I liked the attentiveness and he way they cut my child's hair! Great job! read more

The hair cutters here are good. They have a computer system where they ask for your phone number and then it tills them if you are a regular customer. From there they have notes in their system that tell them what kind of haircut you last had. Like I have a number 2 and finger length on top. You wait in a nice waiting area. The store is always clean and kept nice. Once you are up they give you a nice haircut. The staff is always nice to everyone. Mens haircuts are $13. I don't think of it as the top of the line hair salon. Like the ones that give perms, makeup, and manicures. However, for an average mens haircut, it is a nice place to go. read more

I rarely give reviews and I don't like giving out negative reviews but this one is justifiable. This review is a couple weeks late but my hair is growing out and I can see how horrible it looks. The weather was getting warm and I decided I want to get my hair cut short. So I decided to come here (BIG MISTAKE) on a Friday afternoon after making my appointment online. The place seemed small but it was kept clean, which is a plus. Anyway, I get there and wait about 5 minutes before stepping onto the chair. My hairdresser was a young lady who looked in her late 20's. I told her I wanted my hair cut to my shoulders, I wanted it layered, and thinned out a bit. Simple right?! She told me okay, started wetting my hair and started snipping away. So far, so good. I start to notice that she's just parting my hair in the middle and cutting it straight across. I try not to freak out too much because I'm thinking she's going to start adding layers. So once she's done cutting my hair straight across, she starts "layering" it. She's lifting sections of my hair and starts cutting it at an angle. By the time she's done butchering my hair, she showed me the final product. My hair was cut straight across. It hits me that this woman is not very experienced. She doesn't know how to cut hair properly. I ASKED FOR LAYERS AND MY HAIR ISN'T LAYERED AT ALL. IT'S CUT STRAIGHT ACROSS. IF I WANTED IT CUT LIKE THAT, I COULD HAVE DONE THAT MYSELF!! She only used one pair of scissors and didn't even thin out my hair. I have very thick hair. She "layered" my hair but it's CLEARLY UNEVEN. This girl couldn't even make both sides even. My hair is messed up pretty badly. How hard is it to cut hair? The young lady is obviously inexperienced and I AM NEVER COMING BACK. It looked okay at the salon until I got home and noticed that my right side was clearly shorter and uneven compared to my left side. Now all I can do is wait until my hair grows back and get it cut elsewhere :( I should not have given the hair stylist a tip but at least she was nice? Great Clips is only good for a trim because all you need to do for a trim is cut in a straight line, which they seem to be good at... I learned never to betray my hairstylist back home. *cries* I know this is based off of one experience, but one experience is all it takes to deter you from coming back. TL;DR I regret coming here so much. My hair is short and uneven and looks horrible. Don't bother wasting your money here and go elsewhere. This place is definitely NOT worth the $13. The stylists are very inexperienced and will butcher your hair. Ladies, if you want a haircut that looks terrible, this is the place. Pay at bit more and go elsewhere. This is not the place for women's haircut. DO NOT COME HERE. You've been warned. read more

I've never had to go the next day and have my hair fixed.... at another location. The stylist was very polite and attentive but lacked the basic knowledge on how to cut a basic men's haircut. I used to get my hair cut at a different place by it closed down so I came here to Great Clips. Everything seemed fine with the haircut ( a simple fade ) until I went home and looked in the mirror. The lady that cut my hair left a noticeable line of hair across the side of my head where it was supposed to be a standard fade. This place is definitely a roll of dice when it comes to haircuts. You either get a decent haircut or your luck runs bad and you get a bad barber who messes up your hair. Unfortunately, she now works in a new shop that she manages so she is so busy it is hard for me to get an appointment with her. So I needed a new place and thought I would try Great Clips since they are down the street from me. This is a very scary situation since I have not had to go to anyone else in 15 years. I needed a Haircut quickly and I was able to check in on the app and it only took a 10-minute wait when I got there. The staff is very friendly I received a hair cut from Nicole who was overwhelmingly nice and very efficient at her job. It was a great experience, I am a business guy alway son the run and I would not think twice about going again, in fact, I may make this my regular haircut spot. Usually I can get a decent hair cut here, but one time I decided to get a haircut at about 11 AM on a Tuesday. I found out this is when new people learn to cut hair... Its a bad sign when you're stylist/barber does not know how to use the cash register and someone is teaching them how. I asked for a 2 on the sides, with about a 5 length on top with a little bit longer in the front. You know... something I might have done by myself, but I figured pay the 14 bucks to not F it up... I ended up with my 2 going way way way too high, sideburns uneven and cut too high. the front look nasty. I wore a hat for the next 2 months... I went to a different great clips and actually got a decent cut after, so i wont learn my lesson. The lesson I learned was, never go before 5 PM, especially on a work day, cuz a noob will pwn your head. I tipped her, but I shouldn't have. read more

This is the worst place to get a hair cut. I showed Melissa exactly what I wanted i wanted wispy bangs I provided her with 2 images. She said she can do it for me. She proceeded to cut my hair and everything was going good she was nice and very polite. I then proceeded to tell her I wanted my bangs wispy she said okay. When she said she was done I take a look at my bangs and they were super short no where close to the picture or what I had described to her. She literally cut more hair than was told. Half my hair on top is now what she calls bangs. After I told her this ain't what I wanted she got very rude and disrespectful. Like how can you get rude when you ruined MY hair. One of the greatest things about this place is that they've done away with one of the most nerve-raking parts of geting a haircut: verbalizing how you want it cut. They set-up an account under your name saying how you got your haircut on your first visit, so the burden is forever lifted off your chest after that. Also, after two visits here, they sent me a coupon for a free-haircut- can't beat that. After patiently sitting around for about 20 minutes 2 guys who were walk ins that showed up 10 mins after me were promptly called up to be helped so out of curiosity i asked the man at desk where i was on the list and the wait again... i was at bottom of list and quoted another 25-30 mins. Absolutely incredible how incompetent this staff was, bumping me to bottom of list not having a car for my time or my things i have to do. The Canyon Crest Town Center is one of the wifey and I's favorite little oases to "hang out", partially because they have a little bit of everything to appeal to everyone. Great Clips is one example of this. There are at least two different hair places in this plaza - but this place is my favorite. And I'll admit its mostly because of one of their employees - a lovely Vietnamese gal named Thanh. She's always friendly and takes the time to chat with me as I'm doing my hair and actually *talk* with me. I don't feel like I'm just another customer on an assembly line with her when I'm there. Whether this is part of their service overall or just "her way", it works with me and I find myself coming back over and over when I'm in town and she's on duty. The rest of the staff is friendly enough when I come in - always helpful and they don't push their hair products at you *too* much, which I appreciate. You can check the wait time online and call ahead and request a particular stylist if you like. Their prices are average for a hair salon, and they send you coupons every so often which is also really nice. I will give a mild word of warning, however - and it is what's cost this place a 5th star. The manager is a lady named Jackie. She's nice enough, and comes across as a kind Jewish mom or aunt.. BUT! You need to be firm with her when it comes to what you want done to your hair. I told her how I wanted mine, and instead she styled it into a schoolboy part on the side. Neither I nor my wife was amused at this. From now on - I just call ahead and wait for a day and time that Thanh is on duty. You can't miss her - nice smile, big hair and a Hello Kitty tattoo on her wrist. Tell her Wayne sent you! Certainly worth a visit if your in the area. read more

Driving back from the Fontana area on a cloudy Sunday afternoon, i decided to use their check-in app, according the app the wait time was 24 minutes. I arrived to Great Clips sooner than expected from my drive, i checked in and was called back in less than 3 minutes! My haircut was a simple trim that took no more than 10 minutes. Place is clean and have many friendly stylists working. Plus, my haircut was only $7.95! I was completely happy and satisfied with my decision to go to this Great Clips even though i do not live in the area. I wouldnt mind making the drive again for my next haircut. read more

I checked in and was on site but was bumped down several spots by people who checked in before me but showed up 20 minutes AFTER I was already there, adding to my wait time. The app is convenient, but when you arrive it's a different story. For example: the app showed a wait time of 1 minute, so naturally I checked-in. When I arrived 30 seconds later, there was 1 stylist cutting hair with 3 waiting in the lobby. So naturally I asked if she was working alone. Her reply was that there were 3 other stylists in the back but that she didn't know when they would be out. Very dissatisfied, so I cancelled. Hence only 2 stars because the wait time is either grossly misleading or the staff is gaming the app to get more traffic. I've been having my hair cut there for years, and I know the owner has more than 1 place of business (Corona). It would be nice for this business to place customer experience higher on their list of priorities. If the 3 other stylists were on lunch, I'd suggest staggering breaks and meal times in an effort to provide appropriate salon coverage. read more

The other two, no smiles, no glance my way, I was just sitting there. They were hesitant about taking me when they were freed up and ended up taking someone who had checked in online although they were available before that family came in. So how I found this place was at first by luck because I was driving a friend around for a spontaneous haircut. The first place we went to was closed then we found Great Clips online afterwards. We had to wait a bit for at around 15 minutes but afterwards seeing her hair and that it was all for $17... I was hooked. Then weeks later I went to get a haircut because my hair was full of gel and wanted to cut my hair short before a big trip to Asia. While my hair lady was shampooing and conditioning, she was massaging my head!!! Best part of the whole experience. She was also very patient with me and made sure what kind of cut I wanted because I last minute took off an extra inch after the first 2 inches. Again after everything with the shampoo, conditioner, massage, leave-in treatment, cut, and blow-dry... was only $17. Also to add even more to the experience was a coupon for $4 off my next visit. Horrible. I should have left when I saw there was only men in the place. I asked for a layered haircut with face framing layers. She layered my hair but did not blend it. It looks horrible. the front is not blended with the back, big chunks missing. I will never go back there again... Beware!!!! read more
