North is the real deal - I was in town for a wedding and booked with North last minute on the Cold Cutz website, which was an easy process. As soon as I walked in the shop North greeted me by name as if I had been coming there for years - must have been a good guess, but it was a fantastic first impression! First schedule appointment on there appt. Got a confirmation for the day I requested. Went in 10 mins prior to my appointment. I was sitting like a fool for 1 hr with appointment so I then told the barber I had the appt. With him I was his next appt. The smug fool turns to me in a argumentative manner and told me I must of been late mind you I was sitting waiting patiently for my turn. It take another barber to correct this foolishness. I have never felt so disappointed and disrespected in my life. I was looking for a barber who was consistent and took appointments. In my search we found Mike and he's been nothing short of amazing. He sticks to his appointments and is very consistent on his hours. I do recommend making an appointment or you will be in for a bit of a wait. I also appreciate that he works on Sundays. The shop is less busy and it helps to accommodate our schedule. He always listens to me when I have special requests when it comes to my sons haircut because I am very particular how I want my little man to look. I visited Cold Cutz yesterday and was very dissapointed by their lack of customer service. I recently moved to the area and chose this barbershop based off all the good reviews. When I arrived no one greeted me or even looked in my direction. I sat down and waited and once a chair opened I went to go sit in it and the guy informed me that he had an appointment and someone would be with me shortly. That was fine with me and so I sat back down and waited some more. An hour passed and he still had the same girl in his chair who was getting an intricate design on her head. After a while, she decided not to add more to her design since she noticed I'd been waiting a long time. I watched as other barbers chairs freed up and without so much as a word to me they took on other clients. Finally, it was my chance in the chair. My haircut took all of 10 mins but I waited 1.5 hours for it. I respect appointments and in no way would I have asked to go before anyone but is it hard to ask someone what they're in for? Or to simply say hello? And don't tell someone they'll be seen shortly if your definition of short is an hour. Be honest with the customer or advise them to make an appointment or come back another day. But I guess I should be glad he said anything at all since no one else did. First impressions last forever and the vibe in this place was all wrong to me. I won't be back. read more

Being a man that takes my hair cuts very serious I found myself making two really hard decisions. Where do I go to get my hair cut and who do I let do it. After talking to my god brother I decided to go to Cold Cutz. Any man knows that if you are going to get a hair cut on a Saturday it is best that you get there early. I purposely went during peak hours so I could experience the ambiance and look at the finished products as they walked out the door. It is my opinion that everyone of those gentleman has a very good skill set, Diego in particular. It's not just job for him it's a form of artistic expression. read more

If I could give this shop a negative review I would. I waited for an hour and a half just to sit down on the chair so some dumb guy can give me an attitude I asked him for a taper fade on the sides and a trim of about 1.5 inches on top and he proceeded to razor my hair off from the top about 3inches!!! I then stopped the entire process and he still gave me attitude and a mean mug to top it off I will never return to this poor excuse of a barbershop in my entire life they don't greet you or anything and to top it off I was skipped like three times for some other black dudes that didn't have appointments and I'm assuming it's because they are racist! I was then very mad and angry in desperate need so I went down by market street to a salon called Gstyles and they fixed me up professionally just what I needed after a shitty service if you guys need a haircut please save your time and go elsewhere these guys operate the place like animals! read more

I'd give -5 stars if that was an option. Came in, sat down with 2 ahead of me, we sat there mesmerized by the barber's (who was sitting in his own cutting chair) mad drawing skills as he sat there creating beautiful works of art that could only be hung in a junk yard, until another guy walked in later and physically asked him for a hair cut. Finally, he dropped his facking pencil to do his job and we all praised. The barbers then finally got around to cutting the other two guys hair only for facking Leonardo de crappy to sit back down in his chair and draw again while I sat there, alone, as if I were stranded on a desert island with no one there to help me with my raggedy hair. Finally after 10 minutes of being caught up in de crappy's mad drawing skills I said "hey bud can you cut my hair please". He looked at me as if to think "damn son can't you see I'm getting down on this mad drawing only for you to rudely interrupt me", followed by an impatient yeah sure. Once the clippers touched my head I thought the two of us could reconnect on another level possibly but his hair cutting skills were as miserable as his would-be drawing skills. I asked him to cut it low "physically pointing to the guys hair next to me" and he didn't get even close to it. To the point...he had to revisit my scalp cutting it down lower, I said it's good, went to give him a hand shake (he looked at me as if I had Ebola or the HIV or something) then I left never to come back again. read more

Wow!! What an experience when I went to cold Cutz barbershop. I walked in and to my surprise, I was never greeted nor acknowledged when I first entered the shop. Maybe it was due to the inappropriate conversation about drugs,women,and all the n word drops!!!!! And even through all of that, I still had to wait 2hours to get a haircut even though I used their app and had an appointment but I guess that's the norm:( the owner is uninterested in customer service and is in my opinion checked out!!! The shop is filthy and looks like it has not been cleaned in over a year. I say that cause I took my finger and wiped a 1/4 inch thick layer of dust and dirt from the bookshelf. I tried to overlook all of this and give them a second chance,but it was an even worse experience than the first one. The barber I had an appointment with was late(shocker) and when I asked if they knew what time he would return,all I got was,"don't you have his phone number"!wth and then I got the attitude when I responded no and if they could call him to find out when he would be arriving. In closing this place does not make me feel safe due to all of the traffic and the location is not in the best of places. So BEWARE!! read more
