As a first time customer to this salon, i didn't know what to expect. I am booking for my mom's haircut as she will have a vacation out of the country and she wanted a haircut before she leaves. To my surprise the lady on the phone says we can come in 4:30 yay! The experience: We talked to Gwen and my mom showed her a picture with the haircut she wanted. She cut and color my mom's hair and you can see shes putting care and all her expertise in cutting it not just cut. She made sure it was cut at the right length and how my mom wants it. Just saw Mimi and she is quite the hair artist! It's been 18 months since I've seen her. I let my hair grow out and she was the one who originally cut my hair back then. I really like how the layers grew out. But new year and time for a new hair style. Mimi takes time to study the desired hair picture and tailored it to my face shape. She knows how to work with my hair. In the pictures, there is the before picture (top right), the in process picture with my hair wet (bottom right) which shows off the texture of the layers, and the final with a flat iron result (picture on the left). I am a long time customer and she is very experienced with all types of hair. I used to go to barbers for a cleaner shave/cut but they don't always know how to style it. Yes, I'd get a great fade but it wouldn't quite match my style or hair type. Hence, the salon. First off I'm going to say it's always awkward to say you hate your hair in the salon, especially when they've done something like highlights which really isn't super repairable (plus once I saw it I didn't even trust them to even try and fix it!) My highlights are so beyond stripey (I look like a Spice girl in the 90's) and there's an obvious line where she brushed it. Additionally it just seems kind of sketchy as you have to pay with cash or venmo and you can't even put on Venmo that it was for hair.
