I'm so sorry to have to leave such a poor review but after two bad cuts for my daughter and one for my husband, I can say it wasn't just an off day for one hairdresser. My daughter came home with my husband after they both had hair cuts at Great Clips in PG. My husband has a couple of cow licks, so I completely understand the mishap with him. Although I also believe that a hairdresser should know how to minimize the cow licks with a good cut. But my daughter's hair was completely uneven. And not by a little bit. By A LOT, as in greater than an inch from one side to the other. So much so that my husband brought her back the next day for them to fix it. They did by a different hairdresser. I get it, completely understandable that maybe the hairdresser was having an off day. But, I brought my daughter the other day and after her cut it was again uneven. Enough that, in order to even it out, another inch or so had to be cut off. The location is adequate. It's in the same plaza as Lucky. I wasn't overly fond of how we were greeted, "Did you check in online?" No hi, hello, welcome in. Just an abrupt and somewhat unfriendly inquiry. I've had two terrible experiences at this place. Yesterday I checked their hours online before going over. The hours posted online stated they were open until 7 PM. I arrived at the store at 6:05 PM. They were closed. The sign on the door also stated they didn't close until 7. An employee was working inside. He rudely yelled through the glass door "WE'RE CLOSED." Got a great haircut today from Eddie. I was a walk-in so I didn't mind waiting; that's normal anywhere. I checked in at 3:30 and was 9th in line, but I actually was finished with my haircut by 4:30. There were only 2 stylists working, but they were fast and experienced. I felt really comfortable just from seeing people's haircuts as they waked out. I drove from Marina to great clips in PG as they had a better Yelp rating. This has happened with some other retail establishments. So, Without a reservation on a Thursday morning at 10:30 AM the wait time was over one hour. The reason for this extended wait time at such a unpopular time of the day, is that there was only one haircut person available at the store. Brooke was absolutely wonderful! We were surprised and SO thrilled to see her at this location since she used to work at the other Great Clips at Del Monte Center before. She always welcomed us with a smile there and gave my son the best haircuts. Today was no exception. We walked in just a few minutes before they were closing and weren't sure if they could still take us- she immediately agreed to squeeze us in despite the fact that my son's hair is not easy to cut and takes a while- it is thick and curly and there's a ton of it!! She was patient and kind and was chatting and laughing away with him while giving him the perfect cut. You would never know it was the end of a long day for her. I checked my 2 kids in on line and it said it would be 153 minutes. I kept checking and the time was moving down normally, but right after it said 23 minutes it said N/A so I assumed our turn came up unexpectedly before the actual 2 hours and 33 minutes it had previously stated. I packed up the kids and rushed like crazy only to be told it would be another 50 minutes because the only woman there "had to take her lunch." I explained how the time was displayed in the check in, and she said that time is not exact (no kidding). This low rating is mostly for the website check in system which wasted half our day, but also the work ethic of the employee. read more

I've come here a few times and the stylists are always friendly. The hair cuts are not always "great clips" however. My most recent cut involved me getting twice as much cut off than I asked. It looked good but a bit long in one spot. I asked her to clean that up and she cut the whole area again another inch...ugh. Great Clips promotes online check-in. The site tells you approximately how long the wait will be and how many customers in front of you and supposedly has live updates. Don't believe it. I checked in for a 27 minute wait. Drove four miles to the store when there were 10 minutes to wait. When I arrived, my name was sixth on the list and the wait was posted as 50 minutes on the store screen. The cutter I spoke with said the staff had to eat lunch. What is the point of a live website that is anything but live? Won't go there anymore. read more

But this was Labor Day. No one else open. I'd broken leg 5 days earlier. Hair was so dirty and I needed a pick me up. When my name came up, I felt the others were doing 'busy work' to avoid me. Great check in system. Signed up for appointment on line on a busy Saturday, and arrived exactly at the time tracking system said it would be my turn. They literally called my name within 30 seconds of my arrival. Haircut was exactly what I wanted. Their system keeps track of prior cuts so you don't have to explain each time what you want. I usually check in online, but the online estimates are usually much shorter than the actual wait time once you get there. So even if the online check in shows 15 minutes, bank on waiting for at least 30 minutes when you get here. And you're lucky if they spend more than 5 minutes cutting your hair once you get in the chair! More frustratingly, if someone checked in before you online but doesn't show up until the second before they're about to bring you in, they will take the person who just walked in the door instead of you ***just because that person was ahead of you in the online check in***, even if you've also checked in online and have been sitting there in the salon waiting your turn for half an hour!!!!! Also, today they cut my hair and then sent me out without even bothering to blow-dry it. I'm not talking styling, I mean just a blow dry. I have long hair and it's the middle of winter. This salon is owned/managed by the one in Del Monte Center and they are worlds apart. When I walked in for a haircut, a beautician was working on this beautiful Asian gal who was very particular. What floored me was that this Asian gal was another beautician! Her work station was covered in hair. The floor around her also with the remnants of another haircut, a used cape was hanging over her chair and the station looked just plain messy. Needless to say, I was shocked when this gal finished and then proceeded to tell me, "She'd be right with me." I asked for a manager. The manager turned out to be the gal who was cutting the Asian gals' hair! cutting her hair! I blanched and promptly departed.. I went directly to the Del Monte Center. Mentioned what happened to the fella cutting my hair - Eddie. He told me he was the manager of BOTH. I've not been back to this location since. They butchered my mother's hair and made her cry. She asked for her hair to be left long enough to put curlers in and the "stylist" hacked it off. She even went to far as to shave my mother's neck, that's how short she made it. I always check-in through the Great Clips App prior to leaving my house, which is another wonderful perk. They are in the process of hiring more hairstylists, which will help people who don't have the App, and also for those who don't like to wait.
