I was waiting in the lobby while 2 of my children were getting haircuts. One of the employees was rearranging hair product on a glass shelf near me when the shelf shattered. Glass flew everywhere all over the lobby, as well as in my hair, on my clothes, and shoes, etc. No one apologized or reacted, no one checked to see if I was ok, with the exception of another man in the waiting room, who remarked that it was a good thing I wasn't looking towards the glass shelf when it shattered because I could have been seriously injured. I had to say something to one of the stylists about how shocked I was that this happened and no one apologized, made an explanation, or checked to see if I was injured. The only response I got was a "sorry this happened to you" from one of the stylists before she went right back to cutting hair. Oh, and I was still required to pay for all 3 haircuts. read more

Got the worst haircut of my life and the lady was upset I didn't tip her. She cut shorter than I asked for and added very bad layers that are far too short and now stick straight up on the top of my head. Doused my hair in hairspray and left it crunchy. She styled it and acknowledged her mistakes since they showed after and terribly "fixed" them. Do not go here. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE. Or at the very least avoid the girl with the purple hair / shaved head. She instantly seemed apprehensive to doing a kids cut even though I mentioned my kid doesn't move much. She wasn't very personable or friendly and was really condescending when I asked about my kid having a lollipop saying they "weren't a decorative piece". I am giving 3 stars because this place is as good as the person you get. Not every hair stylist is going to be the same. I have had bad experiences with other stylists at this location in the past. This particular day the lady who cut my son's hair was a 5/5. She was friendly and welcoming. This location only has one hair stylist working at a time, so it is best if you check in online first. She offered no apology or any sense of sympathy, all she told me to do was call the manager..that's it. Now I have to get another salon to fix the bad job that was done. I came here when the old management was here, the service wasn't really there. I stopped coming here for a while. 2 months ago, I came back because it's close to my home. They have new management and they pulled a 180 degree turn. It's a night-and-day difference between management and I'm very pleased to say I enjoy getting my haircut here. Never go to this location at 1320 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053. Specially do not cut your hair with lady called 'Megan'. She was very rude, racist and disrespectful. She was about to finish cutting my hair, and I told her to cut little bit more in the front but she started being loud and told me 'your country people always do like this, you need to tell me in the beginning'. I was very upset because she never asked me what kind of haircut was I wanting. She made me feel very uncomfortable in front of other customers. It was unnecessary to talk about my nationality and country since it was her job to cut my hair and I'm paying for my service. I made a complaint against her with the management at great clip. Me and my daughter came in for a trim. The lady that cut my hair was fast, confident, and did a great job. The girl that cut my daughters hair took a long time, you could tell she was nervous, and even cut a few more pieces after she took her apron off. I should have looked closer because there are pieces that are uneven. I'm taking her back in the morning to make them fix it. She was a young girl, I think her name was Riley. She had pink hair. Sorry for naming names but no one wants uneven hair. Hopefully she will get better with time. read more

Noticed the bad ratings here, but the cut and service provided by Lauren deserves 5 stars. My hair is long, like really, REALLY long. The last time it was this long, I went to get a trim and ended up with a bob. Needless to say, that traumatized me considering I LOVE my long hair. Since then, I wouldn't let anyone I don't know touch my hair. Moving to TX from CA made me jump out of my comfort zone since I don't know a hairstylist out here. I had a gf that worked at Great Clips back in Cali, so I crossed my fingers and came to this location, SO glad that I did! Lauren did a fantastic job cutting my hair! I let her know about my past experience and asked her to trim the dead/split ends, give me some easy, long layers and trim my bangs so they frame my face, all while maintaining as much of my length as possible. Check, check and check! She made sure that the length was ok with me, and asked before doing any major cutting. She also checked in with me about style and how I wanted my bangs/layers, pretty much checked in every step of the way, ensuring I was getting the exact look I wanted. She was quick, super friendly and very talented! I love my new cut and can honestly say that I'm excited to get it trimmed with her again in the future! Shampoo, haircut and a quick blow dry was only $20! Awesome price for the level of service I received. I could have easily paid more at a pricy salon for the same outcome, but I'd rather tip my stylist for a job truly well done, than pay more for a brand name salon. I definitely recommend Lauren at this location if you want a stylist who listens well and won't butcher your hairdo! read more

Had stopped by for an urgent haircut due to an upcoming interview and couldn't get into my normal hair salon. This location was packed probably due to back-to-school. However, hair stylist can't follow simple directions. Wanted a blend so that I could have some hair and still make a messy hairstyle but got a buzzcut instead because she thought it looked more natural. I'm not in the military woman. Needs to be Zero Stars! Run do walk away from this place. I have been growing my hair for 6-7 months so I could have a full head of hair. I went in to trim it on the sides and back. Mirna - the manager claiming she has been cutting hair for 30 years - got out her clippers and in 15 seconds buzz cut the sides and back of my hair. She went all the way down to skin on one side and the back. She refused to admit her mistake and blamed me for it. She is a horrible person. Had a call into the owner and all he said was "sorry." We've usually had an ok experience here, usually only coming during the 7.99 sale. I usually only get my hair cut once a year, my daughter usually twice, my husband gets his when they run the promo. Usually they have two stylist working at a time. Today though they had 3-4 people which made it quicker for my husband to get done, we had worried it would be a wait with a family of 4 in front of him. The person who we think is the manager my husbands had cut his hair a couple times & is super nice. 99% of the time we have a good experience ... Why I have to drop a star is 1 person that gave bad service on two separate occasions. There is one stylist here, I can't remember her name, an older lady that I wouldn't recommend unless you are willing to be Strong willed with what you want. She wasn't there today so I'm not sure if she's still there or only a week day worker. All 3 of us that have hair to cut in our family had different issues with her, each one of us has had her cut our hair once & we prefer someone else. My daughter she got frustrated that there were a lot of people waiting & her hair was slightly tangly after a day at school & errands, even though I had just done a quick brush in the car. She made a rude comment about to not bring her back to her unless I've put in de-tangler in x amount of time before ... No one at great clips or other place has made that demand for her, even when her hair was messier, I think it was that she was trying to rush thru cause my husband was right after my daughter. She barely cut his hair, like seriously I saw him after & asked if he even got a hair cut! She just did a couple clips took off the cover & asked for who's next. My husband went ahead & got up out of politeness even though she didn't do what he asked! With me on a separate occasion before that last visit I asked for the length to be where I can put all of my hair in a pony tail, she asked if layers ok & I agreed as long as my hair could still go in the pony tail cause I have a kid under a year who grabs hair. She gave me a layer that was just below my eyes that made it impossible to put up with out clipping the shortest layer back with clips. She was amazing she made my hair look amazing, she looked at a photo I showed her of a haircut I wanted and ended up making my hair look even better than the picture, I got dozens of compliments on my hair from people I knew and didnt know. I use to love this place...but the last time I went in I just wanted to get bangs. I told the lady I wanted them cut above my eyebrows and she refused to cut them that short. And then after she cut my bangs she started cutting the sides of my hair and I had to ask her to stop because that's not what I asked for! She said she was just shaping up my hair, but I didn't ask for that!!!!! Then she continued to do it after I asked her to stop and again I had to tell her to stop cutting my hair!!!!! I will NEVER come back here! Now one side of my hair is shorter than the other in front and my bangs are way too long and keep getting in my eyes! I got a pretty good cut here. My haircut should be pretty easy, as each time I get it cut, there are slightly fewer hairs than were previously there. Anyway, there was a slight mix upon greeting me in the store. I was the only customer in the waiting area, but they couldn't figure out my name, even though they had entered it into the computer not 5 minutes before. Strange. I wasn't able to determine if they had misunderstood me or if they were not using the customer service system appropriately. The other weird thing was that the barber must run her own salon or something as well, because she would mention what she has clients do at the other place, so I thought that was a little strange as well. Anyway, overall service I received was pretty good, and I would likely go back, but I'm just not in Hurst very often anymore. read more

Took my husband to get his hair military cut. We're from out of town, nothing hard. We didn't catch her name but she was tall, thin and short bobbed hair & smelled like smoke. My husband finished and has red patches all over his skin. He says it was like basic all over again. Everyone's attention came to his booth because the clippers got jammed from forcing the scissors. Tried this place out once for my son. His haircut is pretty simple just a half on the sides and a trim on top. First of all the lady was rude and shouldn't work with kids second she didn't even put on the half clip she did a zero. The only reason I gave it additional stars was because the other young lady came over and assisted with the blending to salvage his haircut. I'll just stick to what we know from now on. read more

This establishment could be operated better by my 4 year old. Pretty sure they just painted over mold on the ceiling, came in one day it was there the next time it had paint covering it. There only allowed 15 min to spend on your haircut which by far is not long enough for my hair or my child's. The manager was very rude to me. Absolutely terrible! I went in to get my hair cut. That was fine, but when I went to check out the monitor was down. They wanted to keep my license since they couldn't process a debit or credit card and I only had $3 cash. They wanted me to come back later and pay when the monitors were up. Then Margie tells me, " oh we he can wait a few minutes to see if it comes on." The monitor wasn't on when I walked in and nothing was said about we are only accepting cash. My first cut there was done from some grumpy lady and was not exactly what I asked for. My son's hair was cut by Andrew and was done very well. The next time I went I had Andrew cut my hair and have had him cut it ever since. Now Andrew has gone somewhere else and they have told me they cannot tell me where he has gone because they will lose to many customers.
