Oh boy, my regular hairstylist was unavailable and I needed to get a basic cut with a few layers put in before going on a vacation, so I figured this place has to stay in business for some reason right? I get there, there are two girls working one is very young and one is around 40 which is my age so I figure I'll go with who I assume has been in the business longer. Huge mistake. she asked me how long I want my shortest layer to be, I tell her just below my ears, that should be my shortest layer. My hair was also just below my shoulders, we agreed on her taking off 4 inches with some short layers up to the bottoms of my ears. A long bob cut. As you can see, not only did she completely mess up the cut itself, but she literally butchered my hair. The shortest layer is inches above the tops of my ears, and she had to have taken off 6 inches easily. And she gave me bangs that I never asked for! Initially she just full on gave me a mullet to which I asked her to please fix it, I was literally about to burst into tears, it is the worst haircut I have ever received, hands-down. Amazing!!!!!! I've been here twice now and have left extremely satisfied both times. I cannot believe it's $24 for a haircut when salons charge quadruple that for the same result. I had a really nice girl cut my hair (I wish I remembered her name, I think it was Brenda? She had gorgeous blue hair) and I came in with a mess of damaged half blue/half brown hair (as I'm in the middle of dying my hair) and she was so patient and careful, being so detailed to help get my damaged ends off. I literally was so grateful for how nice and patient she was!!!! I'm not advising people with messed up hair to go here (because I would feel bad further torturing other nice girls like Brenda) but also they did an amazing job, especially for how cheap it was. So if you do have messed up hair, they will do a fantastic job. She even gave me little curtain bangs and layers to hide the damage. Very very impressed!!!! Will be coming back here next time I need a trim. PS - because I took so long, I saw a trail of other customers come through to the other girl working and leave satisfied every time. I've been here twice before to get the kiddo's haircut. The first two times, the ladies were awesome! But what happened on the third visit had me frustrated and very upset. The two stars Im giving here, are actually for the chick that tried to fix things after the original one messed up. For a mom who has spent a crap time getting her kid to sit still and not cry during a haircut, I was expecting my third visit here to be as pleasant as the first two. I shoulda know when I saw the "Now Hiring" sign on their website! (You can go online to check-in before getting in. Pretty convenient. ) When we walked in, we were greeted immediately by a young lady with pink and purple hair and an undercut. I don't recall her name, and she didnt give me a receipt--so if management is reading this--she is skinny, wears glasses, and her eye makeup matched her hair. She began the interaction off pretty confidently, cenversating with my 5 year old son. He was pretty comfortable when he sat down with her. I began getting a little nervous when the hair stylist starting getting nervous--she kept looking at the little slip (I had told her we wanted the same cut as last time. So she printed a little voucher the said what I got last time.) I believe last time the kiddo had a #4 fade with a #6 on top? Im not certified or anything--but I have been taken the kiddo to get his hair cut for the last 5 years--so I know when something looks right...and when something looks wrong. Her first trip around the kid's hair--super jagged edges everywhere. She kept having to stop and ask the chick next to her for help. I asked if she had any experience cutting kids hair and ger response was "I cut my daughter's hair all the time and a few other kids." Umm--ur daughter's haircut will always be different than a boys haircut. Hello!? Hell--if she was honest and just stepped back, I woulda tipped her for being courageous and just asking one of her peers to step up. After a bit, the kid was moving saying the machine was hot. She didn't listen and whaddaya know!!!! She cut into his ear :(!!! They called it a "nip". Huh!? Im not sure if management realizes how big of a negligence lawsuit this can potentially be. What if this newbie forgot to clean her tools? Anyone could be hurt!! She freaked out because the kid was now crying and ran to the back to get toilet paper from the bathroom. She kept asking him if he wanted a "sucker"...umm--it's called a "lollipop"...am I wrong to get mad at that too? I just didnt think it was professional saying "sucker" is that an out of town thing? I havent heard of that in so long. His end look--a military buzz cut--looked NOTHING like his last cut. Super disappointed in the service and even more dissappointed in management for hiring someone so inexperienced. At the time of checkout, she "discounted" the cut $2 because they "nipped his ear". So I paid $12 for you to cut my kid?!?! Don't get me wrong--I'm a big tipper when it comes to customer service--the last chick I tipped her the same amt we paid for the cut--Yes 100% tip!! It takes a certain skill to be able to keep a kid happy and have an amazing cut. But this one--had me heated!! I really really hope they do something about this. Several days ago, I had the misfortune of having my senior haircut at Great Clips at Broadstone Marketplace on East Bidwell. I was happy at first that the young woman (Belina) decided to take me without an appointment. It turns out, however, that she was just squeezing me between customers, which resulted in a rushed job that was so bad I had to point her three times to what needed to be fixed. This was my first time taking my four year old here for a haircut and it was a good experience. The setting is intimate and quiet. We came at the 1100 hour and there was only one other person receiving service. The lady took my son immediately. Which I completely appreciate. My husband understands "boy haircut-lingo" better than me so I had translate what exactly we wanted from our hairstylist. She understood and complied with our wishes. The overall timeframe spent was about fifteen minutes total, which was a bonus considering it usually takes his normal barbershop at least thirty minutes in total. The final result was great! I felt like she did a really nice job with the maintenance of my son's hair. The price was very affordable and we received coupons for future visits. After a terribly bad experience with a local Great Clips in Elk Grove, I was extremely reluctant to try this Great Clips on my way into Walmart next door. I came around 7pm, they were able to get my haircut in right away with no wait at all. Brit (Britney) was my gal! She is excellent at what she does. She listened to what I wanted and took little steps at a time. She was friendly, welcoming, helpful, and charismatic. I got a trim, nothing big for a change but even with the trim, I loved it! She seemed to take a lot of care when cutting my hair (probably did not want me to lose the few I have left). I felt that she did a very good job. The wait time here is much shorter than the Great Clips on East Bidwell. You can also save time by checking in on their app prior to arriving. This place always appears neat and clean. I got a hair cut here since I was new to town, and I happened to come across a coupon for discounted service. I requested a half inch buzz cut, but it was cut down to about an eighth of an inch - significantly shorter than what I had expected. Of course, by the time I realized the wrong length had already been cut, it was too late. I requested a longer length top, which was honored, but the fade was not to my style. I ended up cutting my own hair at home to correct it. Had the barber asked to confirm the style I asked for, I think it would have gone much better than it did. Kayla ruined my hair. I had very long beautiful hair half way down my back and wanted a nice trim (approx 2 inches). She layered my front (framing my face) but created a huge chunk / hole on one side. Then had to get my haircut a second time at a different location after my discovery....and they had to compensate and cut off even more hair. Worst haircut. I'm a simple #2 buzz and Liliya couldn't even accomplish that. Clean up around my ears isn't close to clean - there are close shaved hairs that shouldn't be left. Same with the neck line. She missed areas on my head as well--chunks she missed as she jabbed the clippers around my scalp. I don't understand how one can mess up a simple #2 buzz.
