Was walking by after grabbing ice cream with my family and I decided to come in for a quick hair trim, but I didn't realize that this hair cut would come with lecturing and berating me about how unhealthy my hair is. The gag is I'm a year postpartum and experienced severe ppd and ppa due to hospitalizations after birth. I haven't taken care of myself in many ways over this last year and have decide with my husband, literally two days ago, that I was going to prioritize taking care of myself this year. Then this stylist made me feel like absolute shit. So much so that when I tried to speak up for myself I almost cried. I hope this review gets to her and she understands that you really don't know what people are going through and while you think you meant well, it made me feel worse about myself than I have in quite some time. 0 out of 10, do not recommend. read more

Convenient location (for me) and regularly offers promotional coupons for haircuts, but there's frequently just one stylist working, which means long wait times. My patience, available time, and income level mean that I simply will not wait for services like this lol. Went Sunday Oct 31 2021 and showed a pic of what I wanted and the stylist said he could do it. I watched and really couldn't tell because of the poor light. When I got home it was frizzy and I looked like i had a mushroom top. They won't be able to fix it without cutting off more of my hair! i have long hair and wanted to keep the length. Terrible. Absolutely Terrible!!!! My husband got a haircut from this place and he came back with a long cut at the back of his neck along the neck line. Evedently made by the clippers that the person used. Terrible customer service, bad harsh attitude and absolutely no skills. Today I had the worst haircut experience of my life. I had just flown in from Charlotte and it was toward the end of the day, so I decided to get a haircut instead of going back to my office. For a few weeks I had been entertaining the idea of getting all of my hair buzzed off and I finally decided to do it. Since I was caught up in the moment (and because I didn't want to talk myself out of it) I went to the Great Clips near my house instead of going to my normal salon. In my mind this was going to be a very simple procedure. I mean, if Britney Spears could do it to herself, surely a Great Clips stylist could do it to me. I wasn't expecting this, but today I met someone more stupid than Britney. There was no wait when I walked in and she started to trim around the sides of my head. I did have some product in and she used shears to trim the top because the clippers kept getting stuck. She kept asking me if I thought it was short enough. I kept responding "I don't know" because it was hard for me to picture until she was completely done. At one point she got frustrated and said that she didn't need my attitude. That was the wrong thing to say. First, I wasn't giving an attitude. This was something new to me and I couldn't tell her yes or no until I saw it all done. Second, she apparently got upset because she thought she was done (meaning, she used clippers on the side and cut the top with shears... she said she told me that she wouldn't be able to do the top because of my hair product... unfortunately I thought her intention was to cut most of it with shears and then shave it all so it looked even). Third, it's not like they don't have shampoo stations. I repeatedly told her that if she had to charge me for more than one cut that was okay. She eventually told me it wasn't the money, rather it was the time. My response to that was "If you didn't have time to see me why did you have me sit down?" So, after all this she has the nerve to tell me that she doesn't need my attitude?!?!? I looked at her and cussed her from here to hell. Needless to say they asked me to leave, which I gladly did (even though my hair was only halfway cut and looking awful). I don't normally go to places like this, but there had been times when I only needed a trim and I had actually been to this location before. As a matter of fact, I used to recommend it to people if they only needed something simple done. Not anymore. It doesn't get any simpler than a buzz cut and their employees can't even do that right. I go to Great Clips because it's close to home, affordable, and I end up loving whatever my stylist (Laura) does to my hair. I try to not be too picky when I go in, because my hair is fine and thin, but after she cuts and styles my hair, it looks full and fabulous. Laura's truly an artist. The location is clean and bright, located in the same plaza as Publix, Barnes and Noble and Linens-N-Things. Parking can be a bit of a trick during lunch time, but it's manageable. I would definitely recommend Great Clips and Laura to anyone. read more

We've even brought my cousin and her hip length Jew-fro to Lauren's magic scissors. And Lauren is always ready to step up to the plate and help you look your best. The salon is always clean and the wait usually isn't too long. Lauren is quick and efficient. She is also very funny. If you choose this location and Lauren is working, I would recommend waiting for her. She is the best! And hard to miss now that she has pink hair! Why would you go anywhere else? I was skeptical at first, in the past I was a regular at salons that would cater to a guy wanting a simple, good haircut. But I sat down, and the haircutista asked me more about what I wanted than I've ever been asked. Most places just kind of look at you and say, "don't worry, I know what you want." I had the WORST experience I think I've ever had during my recent visit to Great Clips. I'll start off by stating that I did come in about 15 min. prior to closing; however, in my defense, businesses have a close time for a reason, because it's the time that they CLOSE. Anyone in that door before closing should be treated with the same level of respect and customer service as anyone else during business hours. My hairdresser, Tracy Clinton, was the rudest, nastiest woman you would never hope to meet. She started off by publicly declaring the time and grimacing at the fact that it was 6:01pm by the time I was seated in her chair (stored closed at 6, but I got there at 5:45). She then scoffed at the fact that I was unsure if I typically get my neckline squared or rounded. I then realized this information was written on a slip of paper right in front of her; had she not been so preoccupied with getting out of there, she would have known the answer to her own dim-witted question. She then proceeds to gripe about how she is going to miss her bus, all the while jerking my head around like a damn rag doll. After buzzing the back and sides of my head, she then asks how much I want off the top. Upon telling her, she asks if she can use the clippers? I said that I would prefer it to be done with scissors. She actually argues with me at this point and states that it will look the same regardless. I'm not a moron, I know she just wanted to use the clippers so she could be done with me as quickly as possible. Just when I thought the extent of her rudeness could not go ANY further, she griped about me swiping my card at the improper time. I honestly don't know how she's able to make it in a profession that deals with so many people. I've been in both the restaurant and retail industry for several years, so I know all about hospitality and providing an exceptional experience for customers. This woman, didn't come close to providing a modicum of quality service. As someone who knows exactly how it feels to have people come in right at closing time, I get it, it's a little bit frustrating; however, at the end of the day, if this woman just HAD to leave work at 6 on the DOT, then she shouldn't be working night shifts. Tell that hag to pick up mornings shifts if she can't handle working nights without having a bad attitude. This is probably the second time I've had a hairdresser complain, out loud, about people coming in late. I'd think a company as big as Great Clips would tell their employees to shut their damn mouths and treat their guests with a just a mild sense of decorum. You couldn't pay me to set foot in that store one more time. Furthermore, if management at this store has any clue what they're doing, they'll repremand Tracy for having such a piss poor attitude toward the people paying to keeps the lights on. One last addendum, I got home and realized she totally messed up the back of my hair; you can clearly tell she didn't give a damn. Great Clips? More like Mediocre Clips.... read more

Great Clips is known for budget haircuts, but they do their job right here... and with a smile. What I (and the stylists) highly recommend is knowing what you want when you come in. Bring in a photograph, a magazine image, or a good idea of exactly what you want so they know how to cut it to your liking. read more

Husband walked in on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment, and there were 2 guys ahead of him waiting. They told him 10-12 minutes, so ok cool, I go next door to the nail salon for a pedicure and expected him to be out after 30-45 minutes. He surprised me not 20 minutes later with a nicely done haircut that made him look super dapper and clean, all for just $15! He finished and my pedicure had just started! Lol. Very happy with the quality of service and the speed at which they do their cuts. Also kudos for having 3-4 stylists on-hand during the weekend... The one near where we live in Hawaii only ever has 1-2 stylists and the wait is ALWAYS 45min to over an hour just to get in the chair! We broke up with them in Hawaii, but will will likely keep coming to this location when we visit Atlanta! read more

Moms don't bring your kids here!!!! The lady who cut my boys hair was wonderful but another stylist (an older lady and I'm not sure of her name) was extremely rude to my 18 month old. My 18 month old was sitting in an unused chair while my other son was getting a haircut and she asked him to get out of the chair. I removed him from the chair and he threw a fit (like many 18 month olds do) and she came up to him and smacked her hands in his face and said "GET UP!" I go there because it's the closet haircut place near me, and I'm in a hurry. If I have time, I prefer to go to SportClips. Another reason I like SportClips better, this last time, the manager charged me $2 just to rinse out my hair. SportClips does it free all day long. read more

I do not have a problem going to a Great Clips to get my hair cut, and have done so many times. I have long straight hair, so I don't need to get much done for it to look good. I stopped in this Great Clips to get a trim and a little bit of layers and the stylist (John I believe) was nice enough, but just doesn't have hair-cutting skills or maybe it is lack of interest. Another one of his customers came in just after I had sat down and the stylist said, "oh it'll only be a couple more minutes." I should have known that was a problem. He just chopped a chunk of hair off right in the front. Not only that, he didn't even make it even! I kept my hair in a bun and clip (because he cut it so short in the front) until I could go to someone else who had some training that could fix my disaster. If you get your hair cut here now, you're getting a cut that says "I went to Great Clips" and they cut your hair as fast as they can. I went in there to get a trim as usual and every time you go you always get a new person cutting your hair. note from previous experience you always get that horrible haircut once a year and that's what happened to me, so I got a new person cutting my hair and I wanted my hair cut to below the bottom of my eyebrow but the first thing she did what take some razor and started razoring of the back of my hair which took me a while to grow out after getting a fade but she didn't care because there system was messed up. then she said she wanted to thin out the top of my hair and usually I'm a little scared but u had never gotten a bad haircut there before. Definitely one of the better great clips I've ever been to. I've never been to this particular salon, but it's right next to my office, and only about 2 miles from home. I recently got my hair cut short after being long for over a decade, and I'm very picky about someone touching my hair. The cool thing about it is, I'm super laid-back so when I going to the salon I just say, "hey cut it and let's go!" I went in today; Friday evening at about 6:15. There were five other people in front of me, and three stylist on duty. Didn't really mind waiting because I knew I needed my haircut, and they seem to be going pretty fast. So I waited a while and watch the stylists cut the other customers hair, all looked good to me. So when it was my turn to go, I got picked with Freda. Super cool stylist. She looked over the picture I brought in, and she felt confident and started right away. She always asked me if I like something this way or that way, and if I would like this to go long or short. She definitely kept me involved the whole way through, and didn't make me feel like she was going to butcher my head without it being my choice. Final product, I love it! Don't really have anything else to say, except, clean shop - friendly staff - decent wait time - and of course, stylists all with experience. *** This review is for the stylist with the last name Schnaider only*** Overall, I've had a great experience at this Great Clips. The stylists are all friendly and for the most part do an excellent job with my hair (and from what I gather most people's hair). However, my most recent haircut was a miserable experience. I've been coming here about 8 months now and get my haircut the same just about every time. Today, when I asked for the same thing Ms. Schanider stated "I needed to cut the top shorter." My response was "I prefer to keep it a little longer on top." Well she starts cutting my hair at and one point I just mentioned to her that I think she had probably shortened it enough and that my hair tends to stick up when it's cut too short. Her response " No, no It's going to look fine," and kept on cutting. Needless to say, she cut a significant amount more than I wanted off, basically buzzing my hair on the sides and all the way up the back. She proceeded to hold up the mirror and show me the sides and the back and ask "do you like it?" I stated "no, it's a lot shorter than I asked for," and she seemed shocked that I was not pleased with what she had despite it being the exact opposite of what I had asked for prior to her starting. Understandably, it's just a haircut and by no means the end of the world, and it will eventually grow back; however, I was more frustrated that I asked for one specific thing i.e. keep it long on top, and she took it upon herself to do whatever she wanted to. I understand she is the hair professional, but I figured she would take some input into what the person actually wanted when it came to their haircut. I will probably still go to this location because I've had a good experience otherwise; however, I would highly recommend that anyone stay away from Ms. Schnaider for any hair care needs. I'm sure she means well and maybe it was a one time thing, but she did not seem to care at all about how I wanted my own hair cut. read more

Just finished getting my haircut here (first visit, recently moved). Had Ryetta. Extremely personable and friendly. I'm not a hair person at all and she took the time to do scissor cut and recommended it over the clippers, and the difference in quality and time taken between previous visits with other stylists (I don't know the professional term) at other locations was very evident. It didn't take long, but it in no way felt rushed. Left very happy with my haircut, and my girlfriend, who likes me getting my hair cut almost as little as I do and almost never likes the result, likes it too. Can I just say I was completely surprised by my experience the other night at the great clips here in Buckhead. I had always been under the impression that it was more of a barber shop than actual salon, but we all know times are tough and I was in desperate need of a trim so I went in on a chance. I was greeted very warmly right when I entered by a stylist (Lauren). I told her How I usually go to a real salon but how badly I needed a haircut. She could have been offended but she wasn't, she merely informed me (and I was glad she did so) that she had the same license as the stylists charging 70 dollars for a cut at Van Michaels and that they were only different from full service salons in that they don't color and they serve on a walk in only basis, but how that was for the convenience of the clients who like to get in and get out of the salon. She also explained how their services were a la carte so I could pick and choose what services I needed. I loved it. I knew exactly what I was paying for and what I was going to get from my service. She sat me down in her chair and looked right at me when she asked what I wanted for my cut, instead of talking to my reflection while standing behind me (that has always made me uncomfortable). She listened and then gave me her own advice based on what she thought of my hair (It is very fine and she mentioned that all the layers I wanted might make it look even thinner). I was done in 15 minutes, and still made it home in time to watch desperate housewives!! I will request Lauren from now on, but if all their employees are as knowledgeable and talented as she is I know I'll be in good hands there no matter what! read more
