This Great Clips is located in the same shopping center as Walmart in American Canyon, right across from Jamba Juice. I've taken my 7 yr old nephew there twice so far and we've had a wonderful experience each time. We had tried a couple of barber shops before Great Clips because I thought they would be the best at cutting and lining up boys' hair. Although, they did good jobs, the wait was always super long, the customer service was non-existent and the overall environment was just too loud for a little kid. But then we found this Great Clips! My brother recommend this Great Clips because he said they do a great job on him so I decided to give them a try. Mayra was our hairdresser both times and she did an exvellent job on my nephew's hair. His side burns were done perfectly, to a fine point, and the hairstyle was done exactly how we described it. His kids' cut was $15 which is a totally great price. Mayra not only did a great job on the haircut but she engaged with my nephew and you could see how relaxed he was with her...the lollipop afterwards also was a plus. The wait wasn't long either. I highly recommended checking in online before you go that way they have you on the list when you get there. Great cut and great service! Highly recommend, especially for kids. Do not come here to get your hair done. I had been growing out my hair for a year and finally decided to do something different and get bangs. I showed the woman a picture of what I wanted (posted below) but she cut it completely different. The way she had parted my hair made it look like I had a bald spot. I had asked for two longer strands on the side of my bangs and she had cut it first and then asked "like that" as if I could get my hair back if it wasn't what I wanted. The woman was very sweet but did absolutely horrid on my hair. I almost cried when I saw it and had to cut more of my hair when I home to fix it. This other woman also ruined my boyfriends hair. There are quite a few Great Clips in the area, but I always try and make sure I drop in on the American Canyon one at Napa Junction, right across the parking lot from Starbucks. With the check-in app, I never have to wait long. With the personal instructions they keep in their computer, there's never a mistake. But what makes the place are the stylists themselves. If you want to vary a touch from the instructions they have from your last visit, they are always willing and able, and even come up with nice suggestions. I highly recommend Jessica, who is friendly, classy, and gives me the perfect cut every time. Same with Lisa. It's always a pleasant experience there, and that means something. Means a lot, actually. It's a shame, I used to really like this place but it has really gone down in terms of quality and customer service. The last time the lady who cut my hair completely botched it. I ask for a high fade and she faded from a 1 to a 1 and 1/4. That's basically nothing, so I ended up looking like I just came back from military service. And to make it worse, she wasn't apologetic and had a stand-offish attitude about the whole ordeal. Also their check-in system is flawed and frustrating. Yesterday I checked in with a 17 minute wait time and when I got there it was a 50 minutes. So I left and wasted 20 mins driving there and back. Today I checked in with a 25 min waiting time, but this time I called to confirm. They told me the wait time was actually 40+ minute! It's just not worth it, but if you have no choice then make an appointment (preferably with Elena, she's one of the few good ones). But I would look elsewhere until they address their issues. I utilize a number of great cuts locations with awesome results but American Canyon is horrible. The woman behind the counter is unable to work the computer,she ignored help from co workers, and "walk in's" are not welcome. The wait time Sunday afternoon was 72 minutes and growing while this women was fumbling with the computer. I was told: "You are suppose to download the application and register before you get here!" Normally I do online check in for my own convenience. This time I didn't- we were driving by and I new the wait would be longer but I did not expect to be reprimanded. We drove 14 minutes to the California street location, had a great haircut, got pizza next door and drove home in less than the estimated wait time at American Canyon. Let me begin by saying that I've been a Great Clips customer for over 10 years. I relocate fairly often for work, so I've been a regular customer of franchises in Paso Robles, Clovis, Fresno, Sonoma and Bakersfield. I recently made my sixth visit to the American Canyon location and, over the last three months, the service has gone steadily downhill. On my most recent haircut, the stylist was super rushed and the cut didn't grow out well. On my last visit, I used the Great Clips android app to sign-in and resigned myself to the 60 minute wait. When I arrived, about 15 minutes after I made the appointment, there were several stylists working and the waiting room was full. I was fourth on a list of five. After a point, I noticed that as the stylists finished with a customer, they simply disappeared... until there was only one stylist working. It was right at the 1 hour mark when I noticed that the person having her hair cut had jumped me on the wait list (yes, a stylist had confirmed me in the system when I arrived). At this point, I've been in the waiting area for 45 minutes and no one even bothered to say "sorry for the wait". I checked the app and my appointment was pushed out another 18 minutes - I walked out. I work about 10 miles from the Martinez franchise and, despite the inconvenience, I gave that location a try tonight. Every customer that walked through the door was greeted immediately. The wait time was reasonable (15 minutes). The stylist noticed how bad my last cut was - she took her time and did a great job in cleaning up my hair. Stylists at the American Canyon location are just going through the motions - no sense of customer service at all. They lost me as a customer. read more

Omg, left with a bloody scalp. So...I go to get my haircut here every 3 weeks super easy cut high and tight with a 0 and a 1/2. The new lady starts out with a 1 and goes a half inch up everywhere.
