My hair stylist, Jan, recently relocated here so naturally I had to follow her. She was so great in communicating with me in regards to how I wanted my hair and was very informative. She explained that everything depends on how my "hair lifted." Being a mom, it's hard to take out a huge chunk of my day out just for me but I should be able to right lol I was going for a mushbrown hair color with baby lights. My hair is natural black and haven't colored it in a year or so. I had a A line that had grown out in 4 months and in dire need of a cut. I pretty much evened it out. She styled it in beautiful light waves. Jan colored and cut my hair in 5.5 hours, so faster than I thought. She explained how to care for and maintain my hair and to give it time to lighten up but could also go back to her if I wanted to lighten the ends, so we'll see. I LOVE my hair! read more

I've been wanting a quarantine cut for the longest time and because of all of the closures I was quite hesitant. I've been to Jasmine many years ago and am glad to be back. They take all of the precautions prior to your appointment and have a full disclosure in regards to covid, I definitely felt safe and had to answer a question are a day before. Jasmine really understood my hair and made my trim very easy, I wanted to embrace my curly hair and she made some excellent recommendations. read more

This isn't going to be a great review. My appt was at 12. Why is it 1:45 and I'm waiting to be seen? Either they double booked or they forgot or they don't care. I'm waiting simply to see where this goes but I'm not coming back and I'm here to let everyone know this was a good place once but not now. This is just out of pocket. Go someplace else. I was on time. I checked in as per the instructions and they left me out here like a joke. Avoid this place. read more

It's been years since I've updated my review for Hairitage Studio but I must for my girl, Jasmine! Met Jasmine after my friend, Rhea, left. Tbh there's nobody else I trust with my hair and so glad I got referred to her. If you know me, I love spending a lot of love on my hair, from different hair colors to cutting my bangs thinking I can still pull off china doll bangs lol and Jasmine never fails to make the best recommendations on what I should do whatever season it is. So if you're looking for someone to glam you up, come check out the ladies at Hairitage especially my friend, Jasmine. This place only takes appointments, no walk ins. But trust me, you won't be disappointed by coming here. My favorite thing about coming here is that you can talk about anything while getting your hair done! Also, Jasmine plays the best music, so relaxing like you're in some R&B lounge haha. read more

Just got freshly cut today by Rhea! I was kind of wondering if it would make a difference with my old color growing out (I decided not to do any color done today), but my hair looks amazing! Rhea is really friendly, and works really fast! I came in with long hair and asked for a lob (long bob), with a couple of layers. I had two photos, one of the lob, and one of an idea of what I wanted the front to look like (I couldn't decide between a middle part or side swept so I wanted something I could do both with). I must note that I am incredibly hesitant to pay to get my hair cut, since I've had such bad experiences in the past. My hair grows pretty fast so it's not devastating, but it's really a shame when you go to a salon that's like dolla dolla bills on Yelp and are totally let down... Not only was she in my price range, but she was totally worth the dolla dolla bill ya'll. She even styled my hair after my cut. I must say, I am super impressed with her styling skills. I usually let my hair stylists style my hair after a cut if they want, even if I know they probably won't do it in a way I like (I have straight hair and I usually wave it). Not only did Rhea style my hair in a way I loved, I also learned a new way to style my hair in order to get that relaxed 'tousled' look I've been trying to achieve with short hair! I'm excited that she is just down the street from me, I'll be looking forward to getting another cut from her and even possibly a color, her work as a colorist looks pretty amazing! read more

Let me just say that Hylynly rocks and she'll definitely give you one helluva new and improved look (don't get me wrong, we're all beautiful by default)! I'm in love with my new hair!! I have never truly colored my hair before and I have always been quite terrified of the change. However looking at my straight basic black locks for years and years I just couldn't go through another without doing something. And boy did I do something alright... Before I go into it I did sorta...maybe...kinda put a little color in my hair by this grand ol' thing called lightening gel! Granted it was a dare between me and my sister when we were still in our juvenile years of shits and giggles (ok maybe we still kinda act like that but I'm speaking 13+ years ago). I went and took a chunk of gel and smothered it all over my front bangs. Sat in the sun for a good hour or so and repeated this for a couple of days. I shit you not my hair was Karen's from Harvest Moon 64. Yes. A dare by a video game character! Again...this was hella years ago. Anyways, I finally booked my very first hair appointment with Hylynly and she definitely deserves a 5/5 (if I could push the Yelp rate score I'd say 10). She talked to me throughout the entire process making me feel at ease. She did an amazing job on my hair and I feel absolutely refreshed and brand new. I am so impressed with the transformation of my hair. Gone are the days of straight hair. She has inspired me to make time and do more with my hair. That being said, I am sold and will come back for touch ups and more color. Before I forget, I love the atmosphere of the place. It's just the perfect setting, it's like almost at home. Hylynly is wonderful at being hospitable and there is this cute coffee/tea bar to make yourself comfy. If you don't mind the drive, I came from Hayward, definitely check this place out! You won't be disappointed. read more

HAIRSTYLIST: Hylynly is the best!! She's been the first & only one to color my hair professionally. In general, I'm extremely picky with hairstylists because I've had terrible experiences in the past. I trust Hylynly with my hair though since she does a great job every time & because of this I've followed her from Sense Salon and now to Hairitage. It's easy to contact her through texts or calls & she responds within minutes to hours which is much more personable than most salons. APPOINTMENT: This time I decided to spice up my hair life with red tones and Hylynly did a highlift in a red violet shade. Before my appointment she helped me decide & collaborated with me through texting each other pics of hair inspirations. Through the whole process of set up and hair appointment I felt completely taken cared of & not rushed at all. ENVIRONMENT: Located on the second floor at the front of the building. I love how cute & clean this salon is! The overall vibe of the place is homey, artsy, & relaxing. I especially like the individual rooms each hairstylist has which makes your hair appointment that much more luxurious & private. They also offer a great selection of Keurig coffee & hot chocolate at the lobby area. Definitely recommend Hylynly at Hairitage Studio! read more

So I found Rhea from scrolling through my Instagram explore page. Found her contact info from her website, and she's been my stylist since! Her new salon is SUPER rustic chic which is super cute and chill at the same time, much like Rhea herself! It has nice open windows with high ceilings, a very relaxing place to be! It has become my summer hangout spot. Located in a very small and quiet business area of Glen Cove with nice greenery around. Not too busy at all! Rhea's work is amazing! She'll turn all my pictures and idea into a work of art! Something very unique. I get my hair done from her all the time and get so many questions about my hair! Whenever they ask who does my hair, my only answer is go straight to Rhea! She's very accommodating, and her Keurig choices are really good might I add. Overall, Rhea is my go-to stylist and I HIGHLY recommend her to everybody! read more

Thank goodness for Instagram and Yelp! I've been looking for a hairstylist I can go to on a regular but I wasn't successful until I came to Hairitage. I'm extremely picky, so to me, it says a lot that. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how cute everything was! The waiting area had a nice coffee station and cute furniture all around. It helped that it was a nice day out because there were plenty of windows with natural lighting and somehow it made the place feel really relaxing (if that makes any sense). Rhea makes you feel comfortable from the start. Super friendly and I didn't feel awkward at all (like I usually do). I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she got started right away! She's quick but you could tell she's been doing this for a while. I had an ombré already and wanted to go lighter and ashy and she did just that! Who knew hair could make you so happy?? After 5 different hairstylists and who knows how much money spent later, I found a place I'd like to go to on a regular! I'll definitely be coming back and spreading the word! read more

It was the first time dying my hair and I was so nervous! I reached out to some of the stylists here and Casey was the quickest to get back to me. Instead of saying she wasn't available, she made sure to work with me in order to find a day that would fit for both of us. She was so accommodating, sweet, easy to talk to and most importantly I LOVED my service!! I got a little trim with layers and a light brown balayage and it turned out exactly how I wanted it to! Everyone always says that the first time is never going to come out the way you want it to, but casey literally made my dreams come true haha I'm definitely, definitely coming back to get my hair done by casey and you all should do the same! Cute place, cool vibes, and pretty, residential location :) THANKS CASEY! read more

I've been going to Hylynly since she was at Sense Salon. She's seriously the only person I trust with my hair, especially when it comes to color! She's really versatile in my opinion. She's done my haircuts, color (balayage/baby highlights), updos, and even done my makeup for my proms and my cotillion. Although it is hard to book an appointment by her because of high demand, it's definitely worth the wait! She does an awesome job at blending color into your hair (it's not hella streaky, chunky, have that ugly noticeable unblended line when it comes to balayages, etc). I'm never disappointed with her work and if I'm unsatisfied with a cut, she doesn't hesitate to change it to the way I want it. Thank you Hylynly for always keeping my hair on point :) read more

If I can give 0 stars, I would've. First, there is no business number. What kind of business has no main contact number? Then you scroll through and finally find a contact number through all the comments. Finally, you contact that number and person behind that number recommends you to contact someone else. So now I have a different number and a new person to contact. So I contact the new number and nobody replies. So I was bounced off from one person to the next. What kind of business is this, that let's its customers do what a business's front desk person should've done? read more

Rhea= AMAZING. I'm very apprehensive to give her an honest raving rating because she won't have time for me after booking up from being a master at her craft. Sorry for that awful run-on sentence but I'm so excited and happy and I can't put it into separate sentences right now. I couldn't be happier with the end result. I've NEVER had someone listen, cut AND style the way she did. She evened out my ends by shortening the longest length. She gave me the nose length light and wispy, yet blended layers around the side and back of my head for body. She cut and trimmed my hair dry to see exactly what's happening with the scissors. And finally, she styled with a light wave, just like the photos I showed her. And the price couldn't be beat either. I was pleasantly surprised and shocked and gave her a nice tip. Here's a before and after photo. Mad props to Rhea for her exceptional skills all around. I look forward to getting some Bayalage color done later this year. read more

The instructions were "Disney Villain Red" and Casey knocked it out of the park! It's hard to find time as a toddler mommy to get my "hurrr did" and it's a double gut punch when it doesn't go the way you want it to ... but that's DEFINITELY not the case this time. I went to Rhea after noticing my friend's hair always looked fabulous over the years. I've had some bad luck with other places taking care of my cut and or color. I'm one of those people who has a hard time describing what I want. Plus, I'm guilty of doing my own coloring between appointments. This has caused my hair to get way too dark at the ends, etc. I can tell you with confidence, Rhea can be trusted. I'm so impressed with her knowledge and skills. She was successful with removing some of the old color, adding some highlights, touching up the roots, trimming things up and finishing it up with a nice style. Her new place is super cute, I will be back! read more

So, in the process of looking for someone to do highlights because my regular stylist wasnt available. Looked through yelp as I value the opinion of my peers. This place was highly recommended. So just like most women, when you want your hair done, you want it "yesterday". I looked through recommendation and chose to message Hylynly. Messaging hairstylists is the only means of communication with this salon. 24 hrs later, no response of any kind. Poor customer service. I can be a very faithful generous client and have lots of family and friends. Missed opportunity and does not do anything for the salon's reputation. Disappointing..... read more

I always go to Hylynly for my hair needs! I'm the type of person who is so afraid to let anyone touch my hair. Every time I go to a salon I usually have to trim or fix it when I get home. But ever since Hylynly blessed me with her hair talents, I've been a loyal client of hers for 8 years now. Her balayage techniques are the best I know! So if you want to go blonde with blended highlights, she's your girl! Or if you want to try edgy looks and go out of your comfort zone, she's awesome at fashion colors too! Jasmine - super sweet and honing her craft at this beautiful salon in Benicia. I live in Vallejo and used to drive out to Oakland for all my hair needs. Everyone knows it's hard to find someone who just knows your hair, and traveling far was never an obstacle for fabulous hair once you've found it. However, I've only heard good things about this place, and decided to give it a shot when I opted to put color in my virgin hair. Rhea was booked up, and recommended Jasmine. I like texting and getting to the point bc of my hectic schedule, so the text exchange was perfect. Totally painless and convenient. It took only 2 visits to get the results I was looking for. This salon is so cute & everyone is so friendly :-) First of all let me start by saying that I'm one of those annoying people who like to get my research done before I try something out, and trust me, I did. I messaged both Rhea & Hylynly about my hair and both of them replied within a few hours! I was seriously impressed by how easily you can get in touch with them unlike other salons. Anyways, I came in here wanting to chop my hair off because I didn't like my hair long anymore and before I grew it out, I had the worst experience with another salon. I think I've found my go to hair colorist :) I was recommended to Rhea by a friend and she is worth every penny! Not only is her work amazing, she is affordable compared to other salons I was inquiring about (as far as an ombré/Balayage for long length thick hair), AND she has the CUTEST salon ever. Seriously, she does. So rustic chic and feels very comfy & homey. She is so patient and got my hair to look 99% like the inspiration picture I showed her in just 2 sessions. I had my first wash and cut with Hylynly today and I highly recommend booking her right away! She's obviously very good at what she does if you have to make an appointment a month in advance. I changed my appointment at the last minute and even though I'm sure it inconvenienced Hylynly, she remained very professional and kind. My haircut came out exactly how I wanted and expected. Coming from Antioch, she's better, nicer, and more affordable than the hairstylists in my area. Bonus points for the best looking cozy salon and waiting room. :) read more

Hylynly just got a new regular! She was fully booked in July but I was persistent. She took me at 130ish on a Wednesday afternoon. I believe she had a client simultaneously which I didn't mind. She listened to what I said while putting in her advice as well. My hair is long and coarse and I asked for many layers. She cut layers skillfully and quickly with no hesitation which I enjoyed. After an initial cut we reviewed and cut more layers. I haven't had a cut that I enjoyed in so long (maybe because I get my hair cut professionally once a year from mediocre experiences -__- lol). I will definitely contact her again! Love it! Hashtag: #HylynlyTheRealMVP read more
