Wow! I'm not sure where to begin. I found this salon on Yelp and it had good reviews but after going therE and having Samantha do my hair several times I still didn't have the service I requested which was a vivid color of purple in my hair. The first time I ended up with a dark pink then the next two times I ended up with all different colors of purple which wasn't deliberate. I went to her home to have my service done twice and I went to the salon once. The salon was filthy and I mean filthy. I don't wish my worst enemy to go to the salon. When I went to her home her Pomeranian dog which was only two years old had puppies. The third time I went to her home the same Pomeranian had on a shock collar and it was used several times while I was there for a couple hours because the dog had barked. I have been going to Andrea Ralph at the Courtyard Salon for 4 years now. I have very thick coarse hair which has combination straight, wavy and done curl sections so not the easiest to deal with. Andre has consistently given me the nest hair cut -- always happy with the cut/style and does amazing job with the color. Andrea has always been willing to work with me around my crazy work schedule. I had several hairstylists since moving to CA 6.5 years ago and I disliked everyone as they could either not get the cut or the color correct -- they just did not understand my hair at all. I get my hair done by Samantha at the courtyard salon and she always does an amazing job! You can tell that she's been doing this for a long time and you can trust her because she's a perfectionist. I found this salon through yelp about a year ago and have continued to come here for my hair color needs by Samantha. She's an amazing colorist and really goes above to make sure her clients are happy with what they were asking for. She considers your hair thickness, coarseness, etc before apply color or bleaching your hair to achieve that right color. I actually have really fine and thin hair and she took a chance on me while many others have turned me away because of risk of hair breakage. Of course with all the money spent on coloring, you have to invest in good quality products to keep hair health up. Samantha explains what is best and what works for your hair without damaging it any further. I highly recommend her for your coloring needs especially if you like fantasy colors like I do! I booked a service for my stretch marks. Julie was very knowledgeable, answered all my my concerns. If I could give negative stars, I would. After last week's no-show by Samantha, I also emailed to complain and cancel the additional appointment I had made for the following week, which is today. No one ever responded to me. Then yesterday I received a text from someone else asking to move today's appt. I ignored it. A few minutes later I received an email confirming today's appt. I responding by reminding them that the appointment had already been canceled and asked if anyone would even be there this time anyway. Within minutes, Samantha emailed me. I read "sorry for the miscommunication..." and sent her straight to my spam folder. What a joke! There was no miscommunication. She no-showed on me last week after a personal text and salon email confirmation. She IGNORED my attempts to contact her last week and now wants to call it a miscommunication!? How nice that so many people seem to love her IF they're not ignored by her,but even then it seems like some people are very unhappy with her. I never knew this place existed until my stylist Daya moved here in February from Bombshell. The salon itself is in a very cute little tucked away courtyard behind Kinders. When you walk in you are immediatrly greated by someone and can wait in their little sitting area with very cozy chairs. The salon is quite big and I never feel cramped. I haven't used their nail services yet, but they do have that at the location as well. On my last visit this past Friday Daya listened to exactly what I wanted (as she always does) and brought out her color book to help me picture the shade my hair would be. Daya is meticulous with her foils and always makes sure to be extra careful with my hairline as I get my hair colored red and that dye stains awful if you aren;t careful. The end result is fantastic and EXACTLY what I wanted. When I first started going to him, I used to get really cute, short cuts. He really takes his time to texturize with the razor and those scissors with the teeth. I got compliments often from complete strangers. It was a good feeling. If you have a picture of a style you want, bring it in and he'll make it work for you... just don't expect him to give you "dog ears" 'cuz he'll say those are "hideous"... He's really friendly, too. Its easy to talk to him and not have that awkward silence while he's doing your hair. He also shampoos, conditions and styles your hair with the best products that smell great! All my cuts from Evelyn have been perfect (I'm serious). She knows exactly what she needs to do when you tell her what you want. She'll tell what works and what doesn't and the end product is always PERFECTION. She's also very friendly and professional. She called me 15 minutes before my appointment to inform (and apologize to) me that her previous appt was going to go over by 30 min. So instead of just sitting there (like most stylists would make you do), I was able to grab some coffee and breakfast with my mom.
