The stylist was nice but needs to learn to learn how to do a scissor cut. She used a comb to lift my hair and I counted only four times she used her fingers to pull my hair up. She did not touch the front of my hair and the sides were uneven. Went home and clean it up. read more

Extremely racist I pulled up in a 2025 Benz and came there to buy any single product they had available. I am dressed in business clothes as I am coming from work. She refused service. I had my 2 year old son with me as well. I was Very very non threatening. Still she can't see beyond anything but her racism. Will be calling state board and consumer affairs read more

Overall great experience! Perms, haircuts are good quality. Easy to make appts and on time. Will be back!

Tucked away in a humble strip mall, behind Sacs Hot Dogs, you will find the best haircut available in all of Vallejo. The proprietor, Christie, will give you exactly what you need at a reasonable price. A true gem of the Bay Area. But shhhhh. Don't tell anyone.....BUT TELL EVERYONE read more

Christine is very kind and cuts my hair very well! She always gets exactly what I imagined it to be. My mom, sisters, and I have been going to her for a very long time so we're regulars here :)) Y2K's new phone number is (707)246-4858, NOT (707)552-3151 anymore read more

I tried this place out because it's nearby and I wanted a quick haircut, which it was! The lady was nice enough, even funny. I asked for an A-frame and side bangs/face framing. She didn't need photos, but I showed her examples of the bangs I wanted. I'm still debating if the front is good or could have been done better because I think it could have been blended more (but it's hard to be assertive when you fear the cut could get worse, and I wouldn't say I like haircuts, so this is an FYI on my general haircut struggles). Anywho, I have gotten compliments on my new hairdo, confirming it's good enough. It looked cute overall, which is the look I'm going for. read more

I really loved my hair cut! She really took her time and was really nice. I liked how she didn't go too short with the cut right away and asked me for confirmation if it was the length I wanted :) read more

Just moved to Vallejo from San Francisco and had to find a new haircut. Always scary having to find a new stylist, but I went Y2K based on the reviews. I showed Christy a pic of what I wanted and I love my haircut! Have to admit better than the one I got in S.F. will be going back. Thx! read more

My boyfriend goes here and she does a really good job on his hair so I figure I would try it. I am really happy about the haircut I got today! I usually go to Great Clips just because it's cheap... The lady here charged me $23 and did a really good job. Her technique (razor) was just what I needed for the layers. I will definitely be going back. Also, they ARE open Sundays, just call. CASH ONLY !! read more

Y2K Hair Cuts - New cut, nice layers! - Hair Salons Near Me - Vallejo, California

Lady was super nice. Very clean she is cutting hair outside but still be safe about it. she checks your temperature first. I got a women's haircut for 35$ which I couldn't be happier with. Bring cash as it is cash only. She is super friendly and most importantly she takes her time with your hair I'm guessing the bad reviews are just from picky people read more

Not sure how they manage to mess up a trim, but she did. She cut way to short then gaslighted me.

If it was possible to give 0 stars, this place would get one. The moment I walked into the salon, I already had a bad vibe. I kept contemplating if I should leave (now thinking back, I should have just left). As soon as I walked into the salon, it looked really dark and dirty. In addition, it smelled really bad like something had died and was decomposing. I called to make an appointment and when I arrived, there was a sign that says "be back in 10 minutes". Ok, that's fine. But when she got back, she took the male that was there first even though he didn't have an appointment. Not really a big deal though. I waited about another 20 minutes. The whole experience was dreadful. She barely talked to me and when she did, it was only to ask what I did for a living or how much I earned. Really? That's a little personal. So I kept falling asleep while sitting in the chair because it took her almost an hour to cut my hair. She just kept going back and forth trimming here & there, which looking back, I don't think she has little to no experience with cutting women's hair. So all of you ladies out there, beware. She will mess up your hair and give you the most uneven haircut possible! It's really hard to book an appointment with my usual hairstylist but hopefully she can fix the mess that this lady did to my hair. I asked Christy to cut my hair like an A-line and it looked like my 6yo niece had cut it for me. It was horrible. And for the cherry on top, I went up to the counter to pay and she tells me CASH ONLY. I asked her where are your signs? If I knew she only accepted cash, I would have left. And she responds, "I don't put up a sign because it will turn away customers." So she asked me to go to the bank to withdraw money and come back. I was already extremely irritated about how ugly my haircut turned out, let alone she's making things really inconvenient for me by asking me to go to the bank and come back to pay her while it's pouring outside. She said that she's not allowed to put up "cash only" signs because the banks won't let her. Wait, what? That doesn't even make sense. Anyway, it was just a horrible experience from the beginning. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

Christy was very nice and did a very good job on my haircut. I paid $20 for just a haircut, no shampoo, which was so much better than other salons that demand to charge $45 with shampoo. I do not need a shampoo every time I go to get my hair cut. I can shampoo my hair at home. It was also fast; it took her less than an hour to get the job done. The only minor issue I had was that I was a little surprised that my hair was shorter than I told her. Christy showed a picture of the hair I liked so I do not blame her. I thought I said I wanted my hair to be longer than the hair on the picture but maybe she thought the other way around. Anyway, it could have been a disaster but I look great with my short, layered hair. I am recommending this place to everyone including my husband who has not found a great place for his hair. We'll see how it turns out next time when he goes for his haircut. read more

Christy did a great job on my hair cut and hair color. I have a naturally curly hair so it can be challenging to have a style that works with it. She cut it in layers which is flattering and gives my thin, curly hair body and volume. I also brought my husband for a haircut and he loved it. He is very picky when it comes to his hair so for him to say that he'll be back is quite a compliment. We're definitely staying with Christy for our hair needs. read more

It was okay. Went here based on friends' recommendation. Requested a specific haircut but ended up not having that request. It's okay though, she took her time and not rush it, so no biggies. Owner has good talks. Location is behind the Sac's Hotdogs. Paid $28, a bit pricey for a simple haircut, plus tip. No prices posted on the salon, so you may wanna ask first before sitting down on the chair and getting your haircut. read more

Christine owns a beautiful hair salon hidden behind Sac's hot dog shop off of Springs rd in Vallejo. I went to this place today for my first time because I saw that she had high ratings on Yelp. I asked her to do a faux hawk trim with tapered sideburns and she delivered. She is a great stylist and a great business consultant too as she can boost your self esteem to look good wherever you go. Parking can quickly get full as she shares a lot with 2 other business as well sacs dogs. read more

The place wasn't elegant. She was cutting a gentleman's hair before me. When it was my turn, she sat me in the same chair with hair all over it and she used the same cape that was FULL of tiny, sharp hairs. I couldn't communicate well with her to describe that it was gross and itchy. But she didn't understand or really understand what I wanted. It was simply a blunt cut trim of an inch or two. It doesn't look good honestly and for the 15 minutes it took, I regret paying the $25 charge. I paid that to come home with thousands of tiny hairs on my neck, arms, shirt, jeans, and even my feet. read more

I found this place about a year ago and have been coming back ever since. Christy is very nice and can fade you up in a matter of minutes. I don't think she has ever messed up one of my haircuts, she's an expert. Her prices are really good and i'm pretty sure her shop is open 6 days a week Wed-Mon. read more

Christy is the best! I have been coming to her since day 1 and she never fails. $13 bucks for my haircut?!?! Awesome deal!!! I've brought my wife, mom, 2 sisters and 3 nieces and we are all very happy with her service. Christy is so warm and friendly. We were chatting about my allergies (height of Spring Season) and how I cannot stop sneezing and don't like taking meds for it. Well, the next time I come in for a haircut she had bought a chinese herbal tea that is made for allergy sufferers. It worked great and she didn't even want to take my money for the tea!!!! How is THAT for customer service??? Y2K is right behind Sac's Tasty Dogs, so parking, although rare, can be a problem. She seems to have quite a few regulars, so she can get busy, but she is definitely worth the wait! read more

The lady here, I think her name is Christy is really friendly. I love spending money at a business and their employees/owner are personal. She cuts my hair the same way everytime, I don't have to remind her. Always has the TV on if you have to wait. She likes to chat also. Cost for mens hair cut is $12.00. read more

Found this place through yelp after arriving at my usual SuperCuts which was overcrowded. Saw the reviews and decided to give it a shot since it was near me and I was in a hurry. Definitely friendly service, and did a great job on cutting my hair. PLUS it's cheaper then SuperCuts! So I think I found my new haircutting spot! read more

Came in after an at home bleaching disaster. Christy was amazing, she trimmed my hair, fixed the color, and gave me a healthy treatment to help with fixing some of the damage. I'm glad I drove by this shops and decided to give it a chance after my hair nightmare. Would definitely recommend this shops for cut and color. read more

First time here. I usually go to El Cerrito but my hair dresser appears too busy so I changed to Christy. She is a very good hair stylist. The rate is good and would highly recommend her over the franchise places and for that matter many barbers or hair stylists I have had in San Francisco. She also recommended a good place in Oakland to buy tea (Golden Tea Shop). I went there immediately and bought 2 and 3/4 pounds of tea. I have a good hair cut and feel healthier after the tea. read more

You'll have to navigate through the car traffic of Sac's Hotdogs as the shop is located behind the wiener shop. Christy is the only stylist there, takes walk ins, last minute call ins. Love her laugh, doesn't wash before cut which I don't mind since I have wavy hair, this way I know exactly how much is being cut off. Reasonably priced, I believe it's cash only. read more

When you hear the phrase -Best kept secret- this is what they mean. Christie is tucked away in Vallejo right behind Sac's hot dogs. When I walked into Christy's salon for the first time...she said, "What happened to your hair- who cut it?". Here I thought it looked ok and always liked my last hairdresser from Supercuts. Because my husband always gets his hair cut by Christy and the best I've ever seen he encouraged me to see her. I can say without reservation that she did the most amazing hair cut I've ever had. Usually it'll take me a few days for my hair to settle after a cut to know if I am satisfied. I knew right a way before I left her chair that I was floored how the cut was. She used different cutting techniques I've never seen. Christy is an artist in her trade. Ladies check her out you will not be disappointed. read more

Today I planned on getting my hair dyed. Prior to going to Chrissy I called to set an appointment and I let her know what I wanted, the type of hair I have and how long my hair is (a few inches past my shoulders). She told me she was available and that it would only be $65. I thought it was an amazing deal and set the appointment. When I got there the place seemed nice. I was excited but also a little nervous because she doesn't talk much. In the end, she ended up way over bleaching my hair and leaving it extremely frizzed. Also, she bumped up the price from $65 to $95 and then ultimately in the end she said $115. Her reason for this was because my hair was "very difficult, too tangled." It's a little offensive because she is speaking ill of my natural mixed hair but more so, she should have said something before she threw the dye in my hair. She had already cut it. She could have told me then that it would be more. She is a professional, she knew what she was doing with the prices. I was played!!! I am brushing my hair and chunks are falling out. She didn't even try to style it. read more
