I asked for a hair style ( curls) , and received a short hair cut with botched layers. I originally allowed the man at the salon to cut my hair because he said it would blend better. Walking in I didn't want a hair cut because I was only there for a curl hairstyle and I had recently just gotten my hair done the previous week and knew I did not need a hair cut. I had told him multiple times to not cut too much, I went home and realized how much he cut and was quite upset. read more

IMPORTANT: If you don't know how to style your own hair, this haircut is not for you! I have super fine thick waivy hair and I color and style my own hair. I like clean lines for A line bob. I want something easy to style and low maintenance. If you don't know how to style your own hair, you may not like these type of haircuts, let's be honest. Naturally, I washed my hair and it became limp with no volume. I had to used a hair dryer with a roller brush to get the volume back. To style, I use ceramic flat iron for straight hair looks and a ceramic barrel curling iron for volume and curls. You can also use ceramic flat iron to curl and manipulate hair. The smaller the barrel, the tighter curls, I used a 3/4" because I like volume and loose curls. I have 3 different sizes. Use a heat protection spray. The more oil in your hair, the less it will curl. The best curls come out when your hair was just washed and blow dried. Use a canned hair spray with medium hold. To texture the tips of my hair, I use a dry wax pomade to control the tips, just the tips if you want more professional looking. While waiting for haircut, someone was available for a pedicure so I got that out of the way. Then I got my hair cut, pretty fast. It felt like I was gonna fall asleep in my chair. It was so relaxing. I was in and out. I love that he flat iron my hair because it was so waivy so it is straight as he cuts my hair while dry. I like hair salon that cut the hair dry or if they do wet your hair, they will dry it after to flat iron it to make sure the lines are clean and they will keep cutting to clean it up. I don't like it when the hair salon let you go home with soaking wet hair and what your hair looks like is a surprise when you get home. read more

Pros: - took me in as a last minute appointment/walk in - decent haircut, not horrible, but did not feel excitement or other positive feelings you typically want to feel after a haircut - reasonable pricing for what you get so can't complain much. Never been one to be too specific with my hair but i expect a decent service which I guess I got. Cons: - questionable cleanliness. This is my biggest gripe. Got seated IMMEDIATELY after a man's haircut. Same chair, and I believe same tools used. Did not see them clean or sanitize. My hair smelled like a man's perfume after my haircut. Felt disgusting afterwards and couldn't go home immediately after. - my haircut was done in 10 minutes, and I'm not exaggerating. Maybe this is a good thing? But it just felt rushed, and I feel he could have done better with the haircut. Just ok overall, but if they're not cleaning or sanitizing their tools, that is unacceptable. I have had better experience for same prices elsewhere. Just didn't go back to my old hairdresser because it's way too far now. Overall, I don't think I'll be back. read more

He gave me honest feedback about what I was planning to with with my hair (drastic bob to have enough hair to donate) and made recommendations based on my hair type and how much time I realistically would spend each day styling it. The end result was fabulous and I've received tons of compliments! Plus, with the right planning, I was able to style and maintain my do within 15 min or less each morning. He's super fast and cuts your hair while dry. The price is extremely reasonable. He has other services available at his salon (color, perm, nails) that I will explore when I have time. My fault for trying a new salon. I'm pretty sure the owner cut my hair- it was the worse hair cut I ever got and it looks terrible. He just chopped away and the layers are insanely uneven. I can't curl or straighten it. I have to put it up in a ponytail for the next few months until it evens out. The worst part is- I have two different haircuts.. it's long in the back and it looks like I have short hair in the front. It's been a very difficult couple of years with my health and with that- my hair, skin and nails have taken a beating. Losing clumps of my hair has been extremely hard on me... I stopped getting my nails done when my hands started changing shape and it was too painful to try and sit in one spot, plus answer questions about why my hands/skin look the way they do. Then I stopped getting my hair done after an extremely horrible or extremely hateful stylist ruined what I had left. But after many many months of putting it off my husband brought me to Kenny Le Salon. Kenny(I'm assuming) trimmed my hair after I had my daughter and he was great but this time he was so much more! When I sat in the chair a really sweet woman asked what happened. I immediately broke into tears and told her I really prefer not to talk about it(got diagnosed last week, so still a little fresh). She was very kind and asked Kenny to cut my hair. Both of them were so compassionate and kind. She stood beside me helping him and comforting me while he worked his magic. I honestly was so embarrassed I hardly looked up and paid so quickly I didn't even get to tip him (and he charged me such a low price). I jumped in the car with my hood on, scared for my husband to see. But after I ran into the bathroom and looked at it, I cried. I cried because I love it! My husband loves it! My daughter loves it! I did not think it would turn out the way it did! He did a short cut with a layer and bangs. (You can't even tell where the patches are! For the amount of hair I lost plus the broken damaged hair- I never ever would have thought my hair could feel and look so much thicker and like a normal person's hair again. When I look in the mirror I don't see weak/sick me, I see the strong, positive, healthier and beautiful version of me!! Thanks to Kenny! I highly recommend this place!!! I received a good manicure pedicure but never really felt welcomed in the shop. I noticed how providers conversed and laughed with the clientele, but my provider looked me up and down when I came into the hope in a manner that let me know I was being judged. During the 1-1/2 hours I was in the shop he lever looked me in the face or attempted to converse with me outside of service choices. Haircut was "so so". The back of the hair was uneven and had to ask a relative to fix it. Didn't have a good vibe during the 15 minute haircut. I also noticed that he doesn't honor the appointment time. I wish I had gone to a different salon or a hair stylist who takes their time and makes sure the cut is even. Kenny is a cool guy, however he is not a very good hair stylist in both cutting and color based on my 2 visits. The cut was mediocre, but the coloring was worse on both occasions. I came in prepared with pictures on my phone for the coloring I wanted and the results were not remotely close to what I showed him. Disappointed both times. $80 for a men's cut-n-color was not worth the price, a lot in the Vallejo market. I better results for $60 elsewhere and do not plan on returning. read more

After looking what seemed like everywhere in Vallejo for a good nail salon, I can confidently say that I've found it here! Kenny and his wife Crystal are sweet and are very involved in the salon and making sure that their customers are happy and satisfied. All the workers who've done my nails know how to clean and shape nails nicely as well. If you've been looking to find a new nail salon I would definitely say give this place a try! The 3 basic criteria I looked for when finding a nail salon were: 1) Cleanliness of the salon - tools are wrapped up and appear to be cleaned and sterilized prior to use 2) Quality of work- I enjoy a simple gel manicure. If someone can shape it nicely and the gel lasts more than 2 weeks on me, then I am a happy customer. 3) Prices - I'll pay for quality work, but I don't want to feel scammed.
