They said they could do that and would come by to look over the fireplace and talk about options. The guy arrived about on time, but looked like he slept in the truck. His clothes were a shambles and were covered with dog hair. That on its own was not the main issue. He came in took measurements of the fireplace, looked up the chimney, went outside to look down the chimney with two different drones. Neither one worked. So, then he told us we needed to have the flue treated with a sealant. Did we want him to do that now? And it would cost aboutt 300 bucks. We said forget it. Then. We asjpked about which fireplace insets would work, and he said he would have to talk to his boss And he would call us back. He then presented us with a bill for $195 for the "inspection". He was there a total of 20 minutes, never did see down the flue and had no knowledge about fireplace inserts... Never got a call back. Do NOT hire this company! We never say never, and we never leave a unit taken apart. You may wonder why we have a 5 hour window. It's because our gas fireplace repair technicians don't really ever know how labor intensive a gas log fireplace insert can be. No two appointments are alike. So with that in mind we say a 5 hour window and a phone call roughly an hour before the technician heads your way, is quite useful in freeing up your day instead of sitting around waiting for someone to show up.

I did not experience anything like those reviews and I do recommend them. July 2020 I contacted Premier Chimney and Roofing to come sweep and inspect my chimney. I had learned about them in a local advertisement mailer. I read the good things about them in online reviews. I had a pleasant conversation with them in scheduling the appointment. The technician came out, swept, inspected, and showed me before and after pictures of his work. He showed all the cracks in my tiles and took the time to explain what my options were to fix it and the severe risks of continuing to use the fireplace. We scheduled to have Premier re-line and re-cap my chimney. They explained Heatshield, the product chosen to re-line it. During the winter, my wife noticed water coming down the chimney through our wood burning insert. Premier was dealing with a temporary COVID related shutdown and I had to use another company for the fix. Matthew, Premier's owner, wanted to see the job through; wanted to make it right. He didn't hesitate to review the work order and reimburse for the work his company would have come out to redo. That's good business. I will definitely use Premier in the future for my chimney needs.
