Anyways, we bought this house and had it inspected and everything else we were supposed to do, which wasn't cheap FYI. The Inspector-guy checked out the fireplace even (which is gas). We go through the whole moving process which we all know can be a nightmare. I go to do a once over the house while my partner took a shower. I came to the fireplace and I flicked the switch, and... Nothing! I couldn't believe it so i flicked it back off, and then on again. This time i heard it sparking, but still nothing lit. To make a long story short, we were talking to the neighbor and they told us to call CoVa Gas Fireplace Repair. Well at first that sounded a lot like a certain virus we all know but she repeated CoVa Gas Fireplace and I just shrugged (we are from Texas where there is no Gas Fireplaces. I am used to the run-around service companies can give you but i must say that from the beginning, CoVa Gas Fireplace Repair was probably the best service company experience I have EVER had! The were so courteous, polite, and professional. They laid out how their service works, exactly how much it is, and didnt hide their price or alienate me in any way. They listened to what i had to say and within a week they were at my house and did such a great job on the fireplace. They explained EVERYTHING, and even made sure i was comfortable turning it off and on. I will be calling this company for the fireplaces annual service. They could charge twice as much and i still would. you can't put a price on piece of mind or safety, and Cova Gas Fireplace Repair provides both of those services... and gas fireplace service too

He called me a few days later and said he found a company in California that made them and he should have it in between 5 to 10 days. The price was $504.00. I told him to just reimburse me the money and he said he would have "the girl who does their bookkeeping" send me a check. As you can guess, I still haven't heard another word from him and no check was sent. Avoid this "business"! I will have to sue him to get my money back.

They detailed out what it needed, but said that first of all, before anything else, we had a foundation issue, and they didn't want to do anything before the foundation was fixed because that fix might break any work they did. That wasn't good news, but it was true news. They referred several foundation companies to us, and we looked up a couple more to get quotes. One of theirs was the best. Once that was done, we got the repairs needed done. They ran us through the options, wood burning or gas, what each one would offer and cost, and once we settled on something they came out and did the work in two days. They were always polite, congenial, and professional. Showed me pictures of the work that needed to be done in hard-to-reach places, and also pictures of the work they had done once it was complete.

Hard to provide a quote when no decision was made as to which type/style/brand of unit was ever discussed. It has been a week and the only thing I have received is an email stating the work has been completed and asking me for a review.

I did not experience anything like those reviews and I do recommend them. July 2020 I contacted Premier Chimney and Roofing to come sweep and inspect my chimney. I had learned about them in a local advertisement mailer. I read the good things about them in online reviews. I had a pleasant conversation with them in scheduling the appointment. The technician came out, swept, inspected, and showed me before and after pictures of his work. He showed all the cracks in my tiles and took the time to explain what my options were to fix it and the severe risks of continuing to use the fireplace. We scheduled to have Premier re-line and re-cap my chimney. They explained Heatshield, the product chosen to re-line it. During the winter, my wife noticed water coming down the chimney through our wood burning insert. Premier was dealing with a temporary COVID related shutdown and I had to use another company for the fix. Matthew, Premier's owner, wanted to see the job through; wanted to make it right. He didn't hesitate to review the work order and reimburse for the work his company would have come out to redo. That's good business. I will definitely use Premier in the future for my chimney needs.

I called this company for a diagnostic repair because my gas fireplace was not working. From the…read morestart, I pointed out that I suspected the pilot light assembly was the issue, since it is a common failure point. Two technicians came out and told me the entire fireplace needed to be replaced due to rust, quoting approximately $4,000. As an engineer who works on ships, I am very familiar with the difference between cosmetic rust and structural failure. The rust present was clearly superficial and did not justify replacing the entire unit. I decided to get a second opinion from another company, and they confirmed the problem was the pilot light assembly. They repaired and cleaned the fireplace for under $600, and the unit now works perfectly. I highly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to major replacements, as this diagnosis could have resulted in thousands of dollars in unnecessary costs.
