First attempt. Final product.

I GIVE NO STARS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GRC Prime Bath. GRC Prime Bath does not believe in customer service or customer satisfaction. The company is unprofessional and the workmanship shoddy. I am hard pressed to believe any positive review out there in light of my experience with GRC Prime Bath. Contracted 2/10/23 $10,000 deposit. Work began 7/6/23. Crew of 4/5 arrived at my home. Owner verbally accosted the team with profanity, and during the tirades criticized the workmanship/team's competency leaving me concerned over the work being performed. I have never witnessed such inappropriate behavior/unacceptable conduct. After one very loud/profane tirade, owner dismissed the team from the premises. There was never a final walk through or sign off of the work. I was only brought into the situation twice when asked what direction I wanted to run the vinyl flooring in each bathroom. Other than that, I was not included in any decision made regarding the bathrooms. Owner had to come back twice (7/7 and 7/10) - both sinks were leaking, ceiling panel needed to be replaced and the wrong shower doors had been installed in Bath #1 on 7/6. I wrote the check for the balance out of good faith at ~10PM to owner Day #2. The week of 7/10-14, I realized owner had caulked the ceiling fan cover in place to hide any imperfections in the cut made to the PVC ceiling panel to accommodate the ceiling fan. This meant that if I wanted to change the light bulb, clean the ceiling fan, or in the case the fan needed service, I would have to cut out the caulk. There was a considerable amount of caulk. Additionally, I noticed that one toilet was caulked at the base, one was not. The secondary bathroom shower frame was caulked in bright white instead of clear or translucent (previous shower doors that were being replaced had been caulked in clear). The primary bathroom was caulked in translucent. The secondary bathroom floor corner round trim was busted in two places and nail heads were exposed on the base floor trim. My hardwood floor outside the secondary bathroom was damaged during the installment of the threshold. 7/21 I sent emails with photos over my disappointment with several final work products. 7/21 it was arranged for the GRC Branch Manager to come to review work completed from a quality assurance perspective. 7/24, GRC Branch Manager came, reviewed with me all the issues and agreed that the work was not up to standard. Went back to owner who said he was not going to address any of the outstanding issues except for the replacement of a scratched up top frame to a shower door set and the installment of two screws. Last visit was 9/5 to address the one issue out of a punch list of documented requests to be addressed. I was told, by writing the check, I accepted the work done. I was told nothing further would be addressed by GRC Prime Bath. 9/6 Upon the removal of the ceiling panel in the primary bathroom, it was discovered that GRC did not install a floor to ceiling waterproof board. Upon further inspection, the wall panels "wave" at the intersection with the shower basin which leads me to believe the preparation needed to properly install the PVC shower unit is questionable. But without tearing out the wall panels, I cannot confirm. I cannot confirm if the GRC crew who worked on my home was even qualified! Owner fired the majority of them the first day of work at my home (communicated to me by owner and Branch Manager) which indicates to me this was not the first time sub-par work on an installment had occurred. I am out over $18,000 and am left with no possible way to order BCI PVC replacement parts. I am saddled with multiple repairs to address. I have even more photos and further documentation that would cause alarm to any homeowner looking for a company to renovate their bathroom(s).

We had four bathroom granite countertops installed by Pius Kitchen and Bath. Most of the process…read morewas excellent, but surprisingly, our experience ended on a sour note such that we will not use Pius again and recommend caution to anyone who does. Sophie, the manager at the very nice Pius Tacoma showroom and our only contact in dealing with our project, was very helpful in all aspects of selecting the granite stone. A trip to the Pius warehouse in Seattle 's SoDo neighborhood near Century Link Stadium showed quite an impressive operation as we selected our stone panels. The installers did an amazing job of measurement, stone cutting, and tight fitting installation - but that is when things began to go wrong. Pius has great prices but be forewarned, they only install and are not responsible for anything other than putting the countertops in. You are responsible for tearing out your old countertops and preparing your home with floor coverings to protect from dirt and dust. That's OK as they made it clear that is how they operate. And there is a lot of dust from cutting the countertops in your driveway or front yard that they "try" to clean up "as best they can". Our problem and deep disappointment and let-down was their refusal to address the inadequate final cleaning of the countertops. The installers left a residue of fine dust and a thin film of glue that blemished the luster of the countertops. The head installer did wipe down the countertops with acetone but never changed rags and left a covering of dust and film. We asked him about it as he finished, and he said we "could use Windex for a final cleaning". OUR MISTAKE - We should have insisted right then that he redo his cleaning to remove the dust and film because as we found out after he left, our attempts with Windex did not remove the thin film of glue on the countertops. We emailed Sophie detailed pictures and videos of the blemished countertops along with observations proving this was dust and a film of glue that should have been removed by their installers. And we asked her to send someone to inspect and fully clean the countertops. Additionally, a 3rd party contractor we used to remove the old countertops who is a contractor Pius routinely works with also told Sophie the countertops were not properly cleaned. To all this, Sophie never called to clarify our comments and instead emailed a response that what we were seeing were "normal stone defects" they could not take out. Her comment was totally false! We researched cleaning products and to our great relief, we were able to clean the dust and film from the countertops to our full satisfaction. However, the blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and owning up for something they were responsible to handle soured us from doing further business we were planning to do in remodeling our kitchen. We will never use Pius Kitchen and Bath again and don't care how good their prices might be. If you still decide to use Pius, be sure to observe and carefully inspect the final cleaning and insist the installers fully clean your new countertops to the same luster you see in their showroom.

A BAD EXPERIENCE. Their self described focus is quality. They took absolutely no interest in…read morequality on my bathroom remodel. They were replacing vanities for me with recessed medicine cabinets above. They removed the old, and stripped it down to the studs. Their framer started cutting out 2x4 studs on the bearing wall running down the center of my house to install the medicine cabinets. I pointed it out to the PM who brought in the owner. After several days of activity I looked at the remediation and FELT SICK. Apparently not only did the framer not understand bearing walls but the owner didn't either. They replaced the studs removed with 2x4s with 85% of the cross section removed to accommodate the drain lines. I calculated a 1500# design load distributed between 2 studs. They replaced them each with a remaining wood cross section of 1/2" x 1-1/2". The owner had never checked back, and apparently the PM was oblivious. I wonder how many of their clients have weakened walls? I ended up strengthening them over the weekend. It didn't stop there. The drywall guy, a sub, left gaps around 3/4s of the electrical boxes that all had to be repaired. He left gouges and 1/4" sharp bumps throughout the project. He just didn't seem to care. And the PM was oblivious to it. For example there was a large finger size hole beside the light switch entering the room. A VERY OBVIOUS issue, and the PM blew it off. She was more interested in who was paying for replacing the insulation their framer had pulled out. A 10 minute task. I should have demanded she be replaced then. The painters, another sub, were equally bad. One of their assignments was to paint some shelving. They ignored the fact it had been finished with a smooth coating many years ago. Rather than suggesting sanding and priming, they dove in with the top coat paint. It scraped off with the slightest effort. After they came back the 2nd day to fix various issues, I asked about the very rough paint runs that had dried on the shelf edges. You had to be careful about running your finer across them. Their response, SANDPAPER. This was after they were done. Who did they think was doing the sanding and repainting? I wouldn't let them come back another day. So to say they do quality work is a huge joke. They have poor so called crafts people and no one to check their work. WATCHOUT. They have a curious billing system. It's based on an ESTIMATE at the beginning of the job, with no details. They never disclose what labor and materials really cost, so if there are any changes, watch out. It's all their word what it costs. We replaced two $950 medicine cabinets with smaller $700 cabinets and got no credit. I attorney friend talked me out of taking them to court. He said I'd win, but I'd waste too much of my own time. I hired them because I had a good experience with them a year ago installing a small granite counter top. The guy they have that does their stone work is a good craftsman. Unfortunately they have surrounded him with much less cable workers.

CTM's quality of work and HONESTY is very poor. Just some of the problems are listed below:…read more - First and foremost, CTM tried to charge us for a slab of granite and labor (over $3,000.00) that was NOT installed in our home. - Asked to have old piece of granite buffed, resealed and re-caulked. The work was never done but attempted to charge us for it. -New slab of granite and backsplashes were installed. The caulking between the backsplash and granite was not done. -The sink was set but not sealed/caulked. -The caulking/glue used to adhere the back splashes to the wall bubbled out of the top of the backsplash causing damage to the paint and sheetrock upon removal. -Corner of backsplash was not flush with wall and was attempted to be filled in with black tar that was spread onto the wall. Paint and sheetrock were, yet again, damaged upon removal. -A straight edge razor blade was stuck in a 3"x 3" piece of cardboard (with some type of caulking on it) and left on our kitchen floor after they were done working. Thankfully, we found it before our 3 year old did. -The counter was not level/straight so a large amount of caulking was used to fill in the "space"- so much so, that when sitting at the bar you can look across and see the white caulking under the countertop. -There were a large number of "fissure" in the granite that you were able to stick your fingernail in and run along the fissure. -Estimate for 9 baseboard rounder's (which can be purchased for $2.50 each) was over $200.00. -and the list goes on... We spent countless hours negotiating with CTM about solving the problems. We did get some of the issues resolved but not without dishonesty, inconvenience, time wasted, and the pulling back of negotiations.

While that was an unwelcome surprise, I felt extremely fortunate that Corneliu was the one who discovered and ultimately fixed the problem. This issue was neglected by another contractor who had done siding work previously for me. Corneliu fixed everything the RIGHT WAY at a very fair price and worked as late as 7:30pm, long after the sun had gone down, to ensure everything was done before the next storm rolled in. I'll be hiring Corneliu for a bathroom remodel later this year and anything else that may come up!

We wanted a door installed in the interior of our home. Cornel arrived, measured the space, explained the different styles, asking what we'd like. Then he went to the hardware store himself, took photos of all of the options that fit our criteria, and texted us the options so we could choose, saving me time from having to go to the store myself. He also went above and beyond by offering to fix the opposite side of the door frame, which was ugly before the project started. We didn't even think it was an option to fix that. Cornel installed the door, painted it, and fixed the trim on both sides, on the same day. The final result is absolutely perfect. It's beautiful, and the quality is stellar. We will certainly be using Smart Construction again in the future for home projects that we can't do ourselves.
