Because our guests had a lot of food issues - gluten, nut and dairy it was a real challenge! Stephanie carefully curated a menu that hit all of our requirements. In addition, because we live out of town for most of the year, our decorations, holiday plates and whatnot were quite limited. Stephanie put my fears to rest by assuring me she'd take care of all the details. As the day of the party dawned, we had the place all cleaned up and ready. Stephanie and Mary arrived about an hour before the guests and set to work transforming our little place into a festive, inviting party spot. We had holiday cocktails and mocktails, delicious heavy appetizers and desserts that were out of this world. Stephanie literally thought of everything. All the food was labeled so our guests could choose foods that were best for their food sensitivities. At the end of the party they gathered everything up, helped set aside uneaten food for later consumption and left with very little for us to other than sweep the floor and fall into bed after a very fun and satisfying gathering of friends. To be honest, it is uncomfortable to write details about my experience; but to keep it short and to the point. Shannon just doesn't have what it takes to manage many moving parts. You can hire her to plan your kids birthday party, but by no means can she handle a wedding; and mine had under 150 guests. My other vendors had a hard time coordinating with her and appeared disgruntled towards her. understandably so. She might appear to write things down, but manages to confuse dates, times and specific requests. Hope this helps the next bride; Pay a little more and get a stress free day!

We had the unfortunate experience of using these people for a non profit fundraiser. The kids they…read morehad putting our (2) tents together were higher than a kite. And then when they finished, I took these photos to show the ownership the straps weren't even connected, and most of them were broken at that. To no surprise, one of the tents collapsed the day before our event during storms. They did not have parts or a replacement tent. Still charged is for both tents, and blamed us for the storm bringing the one down. Will go out of my way to keep people from dealing with these people. No way these reviews are real. They also have become our one stop shop for our events, in that they not only offer inflatables, but they offer chairs and tables, face painting, etc. We no longer have to work with multiple companies. Lastly, their staff is easy to work with and are accommodating. From the office staff (Kyle and Jade) to their lead guy on the field (John) to the many workers, face painters, set up crew, workers staffing the inflatables and other products, they excel in customer service. Music was a tad loud but the guy probably turned it up bc he was outdoors. The pizza was so so but maybe my impression is influenced by my choice of toppings: bacon, tomato, pineapple and black olives. I should have added chicken too. Please note that this event was held on covered patio which is next door to the old church or "Abbey". They had the church/abbey open so I went in to see all updates. Really a very nice space. Haven't been to anything held there so I can't say more than it looks nice.

We booked the venue for our ceremony in February, the pandemic obviously hit in March. Throughout all the changes in the pandemic guidelines, MSA didn't contact us. I had to call and check on our ceremony status every time. In August, the state really tightened the restrictions - all reception halls were closed, including MSA - a month before our wedding. Our reception hall canceled us and we ended up moving our entire wedding to Missouri. Every single business gave us our money back...EXCEPT MAIN STREET ABBEY. They wouldn't refund our deposit, they said we could re-book within a year, but we didn't have a need to. They said that's what was agreed to in the contract, but I signed many contracts and other businesses understood that we're in a pandemic and this was out of anyone's control. Businesses that did give us money back include: Turner Hall, Bountiful Blossoms, and Bloomin Diehls. I would HIGHLY recommend any of those businesses. I also know that Hecker Dome was refunding couples their deposit amid the pandemic. I suggest supporting businesses that are kind and understanding considering these circumstances, Main Street Abbey just isn't one of those. I just don't want other couples to lose their money also.
