Because our guests had a lot of food issues - gluten, nut and dairy it was a real challenge! Stephanie carefully curated a menu that hit all of our requirements. In addition, because we live out of town for most of the year, our decorations, holiday plates and whatnot were quite limited. Stephanie put my fears to rest by assuring me she'd take care of all the details. As the day of the party dawned, we had the place all cleaned up and ready. Stephanie and Mary arrived about an hour before the guests and set to work transforming our little place into a festive, inviting party spot. We had holiday cocktails and mocktails, delicious heavy appetizers and desserts that were out of this world. Stephanie literally thought of everything. All the food was labeled so our guests could choose foods that were best for their food sensitivities. At the end of the party they gathered everything up, helped set aside uneaten food for later consumption and left with very little for us to other than sweep the floor and fall into bed after a very fun and satisfying gathering of friends. Overall experience 5* Food 5* Decorations and ambience 5* Stress - zero

    Orlando's

Super shocked Orlando's has so little views on Yelp! Let's get those up!…read more The reason for my visit was that they were hosting a free tasting of select items on their menu. According to Mr. Orlando himself, they (now) offer a free tasting 3 times a year. So if you're planning an event, make sure to add them on your list. This was helpful for my fiancé and I as we have contracted with them for our wedding. Moving on, the location itself is located right off 55 which makes it convenient for traveling. All of the sales representatives were present and assisting with check-in, serving, and connecting with attendees. Vendors were also available (formal wear, travel, photo and DJ, ice cream). The tasting was more than I imagined. Typically when you think of a "tasting" you think of being served a small sample size. Instead, they legit offered a signature appetizer and had a self serving buffet complete with several items from both of their classic and deluxe menus. They also offered two new chef specials and a slice of cake from Wedding Wonderland cake shops. Wonderful experience Orlando's!

It's basically a big banquet hall with tables to seat parties as small as ours to families of 12 or more and everything in between. As I said, it was buffet style with generous servings of all the traditional sides plus salad, macaroni and cheese, Brussels sprouts, and a LOT of dessert options (the pecan pie was the stand out winner). There was a carving station with turkey, ham, and roast beef. The staff was incredibly organized and kept the food fresh and the serving dishes full. It never felt too crowded or less than festive. They had a moment where a chef with a large chopping knife chased a turkey (person in an inflatable turkey costume) around the room for entertainment. A family sitting near us even brought their own games to play after they were done eating; they must have known they could stay and hang out due to the timed seatings. We are already considering returning for Mother's Day brunch.

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS PERSON PLEASE!…read more She not only was quick to take our first half of the payment for her. She was quick to distance herself from us and deflect any questions to the venues/vendors moving forward. She took over 4 + weeks to deliver our wedding "portal"*, which she set 4 self-imposed deadlines and missed all but the very last. * The wedding portal was just a bunch of copied Google word and excel documents, nothing fancy or customized to warrant a 4+ week delay. All the documents were created an hour after I emailed her asking where our portal access is. All the documents were also named "Copy of [My Last Name] Guest list.doc, Copy of [My Last Name] Detail Tracker.xlsx" She also took over a week to respond to some rather elementary questions about a venue and told us to just talk to the venue. She will not review vendor contracts, nor make an effort to get any mistakes corrected. Our contract with the venue had an entirely different date and other items added that we did not ask for. No email from her was sent to correct this. Instead, she will wait a week and then ask if you have signed or not.... If you try to talk to her about any issues you are facing and want to just discuss a potential refund, she will respond very quickly with things like "I'll have my "lawyer review" or "The "legal council" and I have decided to fire you and your first payment is non-refundable" I'm upset that she was unprofessional and unwilling to work with us and took the easy way out and "fired" us to prevent having to do any additional work, while pocketing our money.

It took me a while to decide if I should make this review and if it's even worth my time. I decided I don't wish for any brides to ever happen what had happened to me. So, here you go! September 13th was my wedding. Natalie was the first on the list, recommended by a coordinator at Ameristar so I picked her without thinking. Met with her and let her know how important the wedding was for me and my husband. Especially the ceremony part. I was very emotional during the meeting but she reassured me that everything will be taken cared of, and that they will have everything from bandages, tums, pins etch. She said that they will have a backpack full off stuff for emergencies. I was truly reassured. So, $1200 just for the day of the wedding will be worth it. It should have been flawless...I sent her details and outlines on how I want everything should be. By the way, on our next meeting, I was told she would not be at my rehearsal and wedding day. It will be someone else named Erin. September 12, my 1 hour rehearsal at Ameristar. She came, (the Erin could not come) looking like she was in a hurry. First thing she told me, "I HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT IN JUST FEW MINUTES." I let it pass...I really didn't want to turn into bridezilla. She ran the rehearsal (she tried) she gave instructions to everyone as loud as she could, snapped her fingers, clapped her hands and made them walked the isle. That's when I stopped her...because non of what she was instructing them was right. I gave her my vision and outline but it wasn't there. It was obvious that she wanted to get things over with because of her next appointment. I had to pull my own outline from my cellphone. I had to ran my own rehearsal. Then she left, again reassuring me that everything will be ok and perfect on my wedding day. Somehow, I believed her. September 13th. Finally met Erin. I did not see a back pack full of stuff but she had a purse. Offered her drinks which she gladly accepted. Made sure she knows where to put things. She seemed lost. I made sure she knows the ceremony is really important. People started looking for bandaids, pins and stuff. I needed pins, but she told me "oh I don't have those." My mother in-law had to ask the desk for bandaids. She had nothing. I heard she ran to Walgreens to get some stuff cuz she knew I was getting really upset. Could not find her to save my life. I finally told my husband to send her home before I could say so many things, but my husband asked to give her another chance, besides it wasn't her fault. It was Natalie. It was very clear that she didn't communicate effectively to this poor lady. There were other things like, signage that was supposed to be transferred from the ceremony to the reception...anyway, not really sure what the $1200 was for. One thing for sure though, Ameristar will not recommend "Natalie's brides" anymore. My advice to the brides: with the help of families and friends, it is truly possible to have the most wonderful wedding. My wedding was perfect minus the "the day of coordinator" that cost me $1200 for nothing. Steven & Marilyn Brown #FridayThe13thFullMoonBrownWedding2019
