Called out to evaluate Refrigerator codes. Came out replaced a board charged $485.00 and 1 week later was doing the same thing. Called telling them problem came back & was told to call manufacture. Did not offer to refund for not repairing. Same time we called reporting refrigerator was not repaired also asked them to come out due to Fan was making loud noise & was told they would order a part & would be out to repair when part came in. My washer leaked in the middle of the night during a cycle. I went online at 2:30am (after cleaning up lots of water!) and requested a call back; I was contacted at 8:30am that same morning. Kyle called at 10am, told me when I could expect him, and showed up on time. He ran through all of the testing procedures and explained all of it to me. He was very well-spoken, and was not condescending in the least. I appreciated the explanations he gave as well as the tips about how to keep my appliance working well. I gave a single star because I had to in order to post this warning to other customer. DO NOT use this company for anything! We had used Grayson Appliance for 5 years to service our Scotsman ice maker (a $5,000 machine). We had the same technician, Kyle, who was awesome! However, 2 cleanings ago (Sept), a new technician, Chris, came out to clean our machine. He wasn't sure what to do so he called Kyle to walk him through the process. During that call, he did something that made the machine make an awful grinding sound. After, he was through, the machine still made ice but made a high pitched squealing sound that can be heard throughout the whole home. We gave him 3 opportunities to come out & fix the squealing. He was unable to fix it. We asked the company to pay to have it fixed. They refused. We asked them to at least refund our last 2 cleaning costs (appx $500), they refused. We are stuck with an ice maker that they ruined. please save yourself the pain, cost & misery of working with this terrible compan! read more

I used this company because their name appeared on the Frigidaire site as an approved repair vendor. I think Frigidaire needs to re-evaluate this partnership. It took 5 trips for (what they describe as) a routine ice maker repair. Five trips. Extra trips were caused by one technician being incompetent both at 1) triaging the problem and 2) then damaging existing wiring. Trips 3 and 4 were due to incorrectly triaging and replacing a fan that was actually perfectly fine. Still, no ice. Trip 5 was to replace the wiring harness they damaged, replace the new fan, and install the original part causing the problem. Meanwhile, we're buying bags of ice at the store. But there's more... these extra trips we never made a priority. Each new trip needed a part ordered and then there was no sense of urgency to address the prior mishaps quickly to resolve the prior problems they created. I was simply put back in line like everyone else, resulting in another week of no ice between visits. Now I have been promised a refund, and guess what? As expected by this bunch, no refund has shown up so far, even though the last visit was weeks ago. I guess I could dispute with the credit card company. What a pain in the ice. read more

I had a Fridigaire freezer stop cooling and called GCA. They sent a technician the week of June 13th. He told me the problem was the thermostat and even showed me the failed thermostat connection. He was going to have the office order the part and come back and install it. Several days later he called to say the part that was ordered was the wrong part and the one I needed - the OEM part - was on back order until July. He suggested an aftermarket part that could be purchased on Amazon to get the freezer up and running. I agreed and asked that the OEM part also be ordered. The after market thermostat was installed June 21st. I paid $194 for the part. labor and trip charge. The freezer cooled to zero degrees and I assumed it was fixed and filled in with newly purchased frozen food and meat. The freezer worked for less than one day before it completely failed leaving me the next day with a cabinet full of melted and defrosted food. I called Grayson Collin Appliance numerous times hoping to speak to the owner/manager about some type of adjustment on the charge, but other than texting with the technician several times, never heard back from anyone at the business. I was more than willing to be reasonable about a partial refund, but in no way was I going to pay $194 for a repair that lasted one day. In a rush -in the Texas heat -to salvage some of the food, I bought a new deep freeze. It was delivered and the old one hauled off, all the while never hearing back from GCA management/owner about a bill adjustment or some type of mutually satisfactory solution related to the failed repair. I was a long time customer of this business, but no more. Consumers beware. They didn't try on any level to reach a charge compromise with me in spite of my many attempts to reach out to the management/owner. Zero customer service. Doesn't deserve any stars. Company called to covert our DCS stove to propane. Also, need them to fix our fridge that had issues with freezer thawing and then freezing again in cycles. Lady who schedules said it would be $100 to $150 max to convert our model DCS oven. Tech came and said fridge was a thermostat and ordered a new one. Tech said oven was very complicated and he needed a second tech to assist. 3 missed appointments later, 1 no show and 2 where he came by and said other tech could not make it and rescheduled. He did repair the fridge, said it was actually a heater that was needed on the cooling fan, had part in the truck. Finally different tech shows up and says stove is pretty simple and converts oven in about 10 mins. Oven does not work properly, DCS is sending factory rep out to repair our stove. Fridge was fixed, turns out it was a seal on the freezer that was not sealing creating ice so door would not shut completely. 2 strikes both appliances not fixed. Multiple calls to owner are not being returned. After a week we receive a call from unknown number it goes to voicemail. Owner wants $458.00 for fixing the oven plus additional charges for fixing fridge. Threatens collections if we don't pay. All subsequent calls to owner have not been returned. Lady who answers calls acts like she has never heard of us ( same address and number left each day). Says she leave owner a message to call us. Go anywhere but this company. My washing machine had stopped so I contacted the business I purchased it from as I bought the extended warranty. I was told a technician would be able to come out after 3:00 as I am a school teacher and with COVID restrictions, we have NO SUBS to cover classes. When the technician called to confirm my appointment, I was told he would only be in the area between 11-2 and was not going back to the office, 12 miles away, to SIT and come back at 3:30 or 4:00. I called the office to speak with someone else and they were very ugly too. I'm so disappointed as I have used this company several times before and never had any problems. read more

My home warranty unfortunately used this company for a dryer repair. I was told that my thermal fuse had gone bad and that it had been replaced. My dryer worked for about 2 months and then stopped heating again. When I went to replace the thermal fuse on my own I realized that it was not even there. The technician had just completely bypassed the thermal fuse. This allowed my heating element to get extremely hot which caused the wiring going to the element to melt. I am extremely lucky that I didn't have a fire. Complete disregard for my families safety. I will never use them again. read more

Our refrigerator was on the fritz, not cooling enough and letting freezer items thaw and refrigerated items spoil. Living out in the countryside, I knew we'd have a limited choice of appliance repair shops to call, but I found Grayson-Collin on yellowpages.com and they seemed to have decent reviews, so we gave them a call. The lady that answered the phone was very helpful, took my information and the problem I was calling about and told me that a technician would be in our area on Friday and that he would call me that morning to give me a time window of when to expect him. The technician called first thing that morning as promised and I was given a 2-hour window of when he'd arrive. He arrived at the early part of that time window and took a look at the fridge while asking us about its behavior, then pretty quickly diagnosed the problem as a faulty thermostat (which made sense). He told us they'd have to order the part and would be back the next week to install it. In the meantime, he rigged the fridge to be on cooling mode all the time so that our food would stay cold enough and we could just unplug the fridge once things started getting too cold (i.e., fridge items freezing). They called us the next week (Wednesday I think) letting us know the part had come in and the tech would come by the next day to install it. Again the tech called me in the morning to give me a time window of when he would arrive, and he arrived at the early part of that window. It didn't take very long for him to install the part and get our refrigerator functioning normally again. Though his writing on the service ticket was hard to read and the way he conveyed the cost of each visit on the ticket was a little confusing or unclear (they didn't put a grand total of the whole shebang on there which is what was charged to our credit card), the total cost seemed pretty reasonable. Overall, all representatives of this business seemed professional, friendly, prompt and knowledgeable and I would not hesitate to call them again for other appliance repairs. read more

Avoid doing business with this company at all costs. Do not let them set foot on your property. They are totally incompetent and unprofessional. In my case they were dispatched to do warranty work on a washing machine. On the first visit the repairman severely cut his hand and dropped blood all over the house. On the second visit partial repairs were completed but the repairman didn't reconnect the drain hose correctly. So once we used the machine it flooded part of the house and damaged flooring and base boards. Grayson Collin Appliance and their management took no action after the water damage was reported to them. The repair guy laughed on the phone about it and said that since we were home at the time and immediately cleaned up the spill that there couldn't be any damage. Efforts to escalate the issue with their management were unsuccessful as the people that needed to address the situation were always busy on calls or at the dentist. I am now in the the process of pursuing legal action. This company has a rating of F by the Better Business Bureau for good reason. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. read more

We called Lowe's because the dishwasher we bought a little over a year ago stopped producing hot water on the regular cycle and the heat dry stopped working. The service man was beyond rude: he made flippant remarks and was condescending. He stated we need to warm up our sink water before using the dishwasher (did not have to do that before). He was also WRONG. He came out twice with his attitude that we were simply too stupid to use a dishwasher, fixed nothing, and the last time charged Lowe's for a part (he installed a zip tie). I looked up the problem with the dishwasher to find it needed to be reset. We unplugged it and plugged it back in a few minutes later. GUESS WHAT WORKS NOW. He calls after his scheduled time to say he is on his way so I rush home only to have him call and say his truck broke down, that's fine too. He tells me he will get me on the schedule the next day. This company is a joke!! Homedepot warranty sent them out to fix an ac unit. Took them almost a week to come for the diagnostic visit. Takes ac apart but Doesn't even turn the unit on and says it is the fan, he will have to order it which will take 10-14 days, mind u we have 2 kids with now no ac in August in Texas. So, fast forward we have to call to find out status of part, which btw it was delivered but broken, be another 10 days. Then magically the part shows up at my house in the mail, hmmm call them they don't know why bc they never send parts to customer houses. Say it will be next week before when they can come out. So Wednesday (24 days since I called homedepot) tech comes out. Puts the fan in turns ac on ok ur good to go. Doesn't put ac back in metal shell leaves it on my floor and leaves. Husband comes home, pissed at this point btw. Puts ac in shell, struggles to get this massive 25k ac unit back the in the window. So excited I'm going to sleep cool tonight, turn it on and the most awful noises come from the fan. Shut it off, pull it back out of the window come to find out he left half the screws out bc the fan was rubbing and instead of telling me that rigged it to run until put on the shell with pressure put on fan casing making it rub. Lowe's Home Improvement referred me to Grayson Collin Appliance as the company they recommended to repair my freezer's ice machine. The technician diagnosed the problem as the emitter sensor's control board needing to be replaced. I paid a couple of hundred dollars for the parts and labor. I was told to call if the ice machine continued to not work. It didn't. The office representative said they would order an additional part that needed to be replaced. Weeks passed. I would called and they continued to tell me they hadn't received the part. Months passed. Finally I was told the part was on back order. I gave up and called another company that I would love to name but I don't want bring them into this. I told them the part that I likely needed replaced. The technician came by the following day with the part that he ironically explained was actually quite easy to come by. He replaced that part and the ice machine immediately began working. He told me he would like to see if the original emitter board still worked. He reinstalled the original emitter board that I had paid to replace. The ice machine continued to work. Grayson Collin Appliance misdiagnosed the problem and sold me a part I didn't need. When I called and asked Grayson Collin Appliance to make it right by buying back the emitter board I didn't need, they said they would get back with me. Weeks passed. I called again. They said they would get back with me. Months have passed and here I am. This company is incompetent and dishonest. I recommend anyone needing appliance repair to look elsewhere. read more

When that did not work they decided I must have a freon leak, and it will be another 600.00. to fix that. I already have paid them over 550.00 to replace an ice maker that wasn't broken, and it is impossible for the thing to have a freon leak.The freezer, and refrigerator hold the correct temperature. It does not take a rocket scientist to see that the fan that blows cold air into the ice maker is not functioning correctly. The lady who answers the phone is rude. I do not recommend ever using this company even when they have been assigned by the Service Contract provider!! RUN it you have a choice not to use Grayson Collin Appliance Service! ZERO STARS Should be a Rating for their lack of showing up for appointments!!!! They set-up appointments and do not show up and then call the afternoon to set-up an appoint for the next day but can not give you a time. After they finally show-up and diagnose the problem with our Double oven, they have to order the parts which is acceptable, BUT . . . Then when they schedule an appoint almost 1 1/2 weeks later for Friday, 5/25/2018, they call in the morning at 9:01 AM to let us know that they are canceling the repair appointment and that we need to re-schedule for a day next week. That would have been not great but asked for a 1st appoint of the day so I would not have to take another day of vacation and was told that they would not give me a time other than morning or afternoon and we would need to be at the house when they arrived. Since I asked again for a 1st repair appointment, I was told that they did service Monday thru Friday and could only get a morning or afternoon service with no specific time. When I said that we may need 45 minutes to an hour notice to get home from work for the repair, the lady setting up the appoint got rude and told me that I should get someone else to do my repair. Since she was so RUDE in her GOD-Almighty Attitude, I accepted her suggest for her to cancel the appoint and get a new Service Company! The appointment cancellation was very did-hearting as we had planned to cook 2 briskets for Memorial Day Weekend and now need to make different meal plans . . . My appointment with Grayson Collin Appliance was set up for me by Electrolux for a warranty repair on my dryer. Despite the fact that Electrolux provided them the specific error code my dryer was giving, after waiting for nearly a week for them to show up, the technician did not have the required parts on his truck. They had to be ordered. This delayed the repair almost 2 additional weeks. Two parts were ordered, so when they finally showed up with the parts (it's now been 3 weeks without a dryer), one was installed; the 2nd one was defective (not their fault - that was completely on Electrolux). However, the defective part had to be re-ordered. YES! Another couple of weeks. When the new part arrived, the technician had re-ordered the wrong part number. This part was their fault. After numerous phone calls to Electrolux directly AND to the store where I originally purchased the dryer just over a year ago and having them get involved in trying to get Electrolux to help expedite this repair, Grayson Collin Appliance received the part for my dryer 2 days after they were here and discovered they had the wrong part. HOWEVER, even though they have drug out this process and I have been without a dryer for 6 weeks, they would not create a slot in their schedule to get someone out to install that part. I had to wait 6 days after the part arrived to even get on the schedule. When I questioned this with Brooke, who answers the phone, I was told, "The schedule is full until Thursday." I replied, "And I doubt any of those folks have been waiting for 6 weeks for you to make their repair. I feel like I should have priority since you've already been out to my house 3 times." She said, in a very short and huffy tone, "Do you want the slot on Thursday or do you want me to return your part and just forget it?" Both a customer service agent from Electrolux and one of the supervisors from Electrolux Customer Service have called and spoken to Brooke and she refuses to create a slot to get anyone out to my house earlier than Thursday - still 2 days from now. Meanwhile, my family of 5 - including 3 small children has been without our $1300 dryer for a 6 week period. While both technicians who have been out to my house have been very nice and are sympathetic to the situation, the company as a whole has been HORRIBLE to work with. I didn't have a choice in contracting them in the first place, but I would NEVER, EVER use them by choice. Absolutely, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. read more

Grayson came out and diagnosed the problem, but I had to wait a week before they came out because they were so busy. Then we had to wait for the part. The tech came out and said the part ordered by the other tech did not work in the washing machine. So, it has been 17 days without a washing machine! The tech ordered the wrong part. So, Grayson ordered another part on a Tuesday; the part did't come in until Friday afternoon and the first time they can come out to fix the machine is next Thursday which will be 26days. Don't get me wrong everyone is very polite its just their service is not good. The tech diagnosed the problem wrong then it takes them forever to schedule service. TERRIBLE SERVICE Home Depot contacted Grayson Collin Appliance to repair an LG washing machine. On the morning they were scheduled to do the repair, they called to reconfirm the time and then asked what the problem was. I told them I kept getting an LE error code. They immediately said they had to order parts and it would be 3-11 days for the parts to come in. I told them I had given them the LE error code when they called me to set up the appointment and asked why the part wasn't ordered then. No response. I had waited 9 days only to be told I would have to wait another 3-11+ days. Thirteen days later they called me to come install the parts. At 12:30 PM they said they would come to my house between 3-6 PM. No one came and no one had the courtesy to call and let me know they weren't coming. I called about 6:15 and all I got was a message saying they were closed and please call back the next day. I had now waited 22 days after the initial call for service. They next morning they called and said somehow I had slipped through the cracks. They wanted to schedule a time that day to install the parts. I told them no one had shown for the first two appointments so why should I believe anyone would show then. I asked to speak to the owner Mr Martin. The said he was on service calls and they would have him call me when he came back in around 5:00 PM. I asked if they had a way to contact him and they said yes but he probably wouldn't have time to talk to me. I told them to have him call me if he was interested in my business. Apparently he wasn't because I never heard from him. I would NEVER do business with a company like this who has no regard for the customer. read more

I've used them three times on a rental house I own, most recently yesterday on a stove where the former tenants told me a coil was not working. I set up an appointment and told them the problem. I had to change the appointment date when my tenants moved out early, then had a slight delay because I thought there would be no power, but they were able to get me in when power came on later that day. Leonard came and had the part on the van, installed it and tested out the entire stove. I am very happy with their service. read more
