Shane came out to assess my dryer after it stopped functioning despite having power and being cleaned of its lint trap. He determined it was an internal thermostat fuse that popped to prevent a fire. He waited for the part and replaced it in a subsequent visit. Fast forward a week, my dryer again has the same issue. They came out quick and we took preventative action (clean dryer drum and vent from laundry wall to external wall). Both my drum and vent conduit was relatively clean. So it looks like our control panel is faulty and would need to be replaced given its false positive for overheating. Instead of incurring additional part and labor costs which would have amounted to half of a new dryer anyway, I elected to replace. So although our dryer didn't work or get resolved, Shane was thorough and polite and engaged my husband and me on what was going on and steps forward. I'm glad to hear that Doc Danielson hires veterans and had a great technician who wanted the best outcome for the customer even if the appliance wasn't worth saving. The first call was awesome. Had a tech coming very fast. The tech however, did not take anything apart, asked how old my fridge was, then proceeded to give me a phone number to call a guy that sell fridges cheap. He gave me a phone number. I then called "Mike Barber" who uses a private phone and texts through a gmail account. He sent me some pictures and prices. When it came to closing the deal; Mike tells me that the tech Stephen works for him on occasion, then asked me to pay in advance for the fridge, no biggie, except that he wanted to do so without any receipt, he wanted me to send him $1900 through western union, or just give him my credit card. When I told him that was not going to work, he got mad and told me: "I work for over 40 years helping people, if you cannot trust me, with $2000, go buy from someone else! It was an item in the box! No taxes" shady! On the phone I was told the service fee was $90, I was charged $107.17. read more

The office communicates well however the on site service I cannot recommend, their techs do not even try the diagnose the problem, deciding we needed a new whole new ice maker without taking apart anything & not actually figuring out if the microwave light wasn't coming on because it needs a bulb or another reason!! We were told that the technicians keep the most commonly needed parts with them however despite giving the brand name & details of both our microwave & refrigerator they did not even have a light bulb on hand to check our microwave. I believe this to be part of their business process so that they can come back again & charge another $125 visit. They came to install what I was told was the light bulb for the microwave as well as a new ice maker & then discover that they gave the wrong ice maker which I am told is not their fault because it doesn't match what they expected for the refrigerator even though the information of the ice maker is WRITTEN ON IT! Also on todays visit they decided it is not the light bulb after all but an electrical shortage which they never tested & that will be too cost prohibitive to fix & recommended I replace the whole microwave! So they told me they wouldn't charge me for the rediagnosis for today of $125 but the total charge will be $627 for 2 visits at $125 each) the new ice maker & they charged me shipping for the parts (you know that the commonly keep on hand) & are doing me a favor by not charging me the $125 for today that they misdiagnosed the fist time and the microwave is still broken. Also, while here on the first visit I was talking to my husband about his dying family member who was in their final stages of life & has now passed 3 days later. I told MY HUSBAND not the tech that they are trying to raise money for the burial as it was a sudden illness & the tech Cliff looks up & says can't somebody just grab a shovel & some dirt?!?!?! YES HE ACTUALLY SAID THAT & WE BOTH JUST LOOKED AT HIM IN SHOCK & THAT IS WHEN WE REALIZED HE IS NOT OK!!! The second tech sat outside my house for just short of an hour today prior to ringing the doorbell. I asked if that was him sitting in the car across the street since they do not use company vehicles & he stated yes I was waiting for the parts to be delivered to me?!?!? Who shows up for an installation of parts call without the parts!!! I have asked for compensation for the waste of my time since NOTHING was done on the first visit & the $125 should be removed & this company that provides A+ Service has refused any compensation noting they didn't charge me for todays waste of my time!!!!!!!!!!!! This place is a joke! Stay away!! UPDATE AFTER POSTING REVIEW: Immediately after posting this review, I received a call from the office stating that they saw my review &NOW will indeed refund the $125 requested BUT they would be canceling my appointment to install the correct ice maker for tomorrow. They said they invite me to find a new company to do business with that can satisfy me. They said since I have stated that I don't trust them that they will not be back, my ice maker is in pieces on the counter since they said they would be back to replace it today & now I have not only no ice but no filtered water from my refrigerator since the unit has been removed & we have a dinner party this weekend. We scheduled service for our washer and ice machine a few weeks ago. The guy came out (younger kid) and told us the washer needed a new drain. We got it ordered and he said he doesn't need to come back to install it, we could just do it. When the drain arrived we ended up having to have someone come out (different company) to install. About 5 minutes into the call the new repair person said that we didn't need a new drain...there was something stuck in it. Had the A+ employee spent a few extra minutes actually looking for the issue we wouldn't have had to spend money on the new drain or the additional person who knew what they were doing to come out. As for the ice machine...the kid looked at it totally perplexed for 15-20 minutes. He couldn't even get it out. He spent time on his phone googling (my husband and I were both home and in the kitchen) then once he got help from my husband to get the machine out he just did exactly what my husband had been doing to fix it for a few months. My husband called A+ after the washer was properly repaired and left messages. We never got a call back. read more

We had Doc Danielson out for our 1st wellness program visit. They checked our column fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Thermodore slide in gas range and oven, I've maker, wine fridge, washer & dryer. Most of these appliances are only 18 months old and they found that my oven was heating at 100° over the intended temp. They were able to calibrate the over back to the normal range. They also found the cause of the rattling noise that was coming from the dryer and had the parts to fix it during todays' appt. I am incredibly disappointed in this organization's leadership team. After raising legitimate concerns I was met by two different owners with finger pointing, threats of calling my direct and persistent asks to make right their wrong as "abusive" and defensiveness. We moved into a new home after a renovation exactly 8 days ago. Our sink was functioning properly and there were NO LEAKS. We had plumbers come to assess other issues outside of the kitchen, and in due diligence they looked under the kitchen sink (which was NOT leaking) and did a clean out of the drain pipe, but that's it. It was functioning WITHOUT leaks before this plumber came AND after their service visit. The dishwasher was the issue. We called this Doc Danielson for their help. The tech came out to assess. As part of his assessment he went to shut off the water valve under the sink. He said (and I quote), "Wow, this is a really tight water valve." He then grabbed pliers and proceeded to use them to shut it off. As I stated, there were no existing leaks before his visit and following his visit, I woke up to a pool of water underneath my kitchen sink leaking onto my new hardwood floors. I called the company immediately in the morning expecting for their team to act with concern and urgency to address this issue. Yet, I was met with defensiveness and finger pointing from their owner, Tyler. How disappointing. I had to call, text and email their leadership team about their lack of integrity in order for ANY action to be taken and for their service fee to be refunded. I then had to take on the cost of a plumber to come fix the issue without any further payment from this company. When faced with a negative experience their other owner, Nancy, called me "abusive" as a threat and to disparage me and dismiss my concern, despite their tagline saying, "Companies should be in business first, to serve people." I urge documentation of EVERYTHING should you move forward using them because their default is not to help. Instead, they asked us to pay more to fix the problem they created. read more

Our electric dryer stopped heating, so we suspected a bad heating element. Called A+ Appliance (now Doc Danielson Appliance) per a friend's recommendation. They set the appt for the next afternoon after trying to probe to sell me a service plan, which I declined. They asked if I was "flexible," and I said sure, assuming that meant they might let me know if another appt came open. However, after hours they texted to say they would show up first thing the next morning (not asking, just telling). We wouldn't have been available then. Plus, my wife noted that they had sent an email warning that once a tech is on the way, if we're not there they say we're responsible to pay and will try to collect $125. Not knowing if they would try to show up the next morning and then demand $125 when they found us not available, and knowing they switched our appt after-hours without permission and with no time for us to adjust, I left messages for them canceling everything. After reading other reviews, I'm glad I did. I let the friend who recommended them know. read more

Stephen came out and was early. Showed him the problem with the leaky water line for ice maker, due to pinhole leak in old dried out tubing. Attempted to fix, but the union would not seal with the old worn out line. ordered a new reservoir kit that comes with a new line and they will be back probably Thursday. Considering the age of this refrigerator, I'm not surprised that it turned out as it did. New reservoir install will fix our problem. read more

The repairman arrived at my door on schedule and greeted me professionally. He immediately inspected my dishwasher and trouble shot the problem in just a few minutes. He made the repairs, and he was on his way. My repairman was thorough and obviously had lots of experience diagnosing dishwasher problems, because he wasted no time making the repair. One of the worst companies I have dealt with in our neighborhood. The lady took 15 minutes over the phone when I initially called to inform my issue. She told me how their charges will work and they will send a guy who will clean the dryer vent too. After 3 days when the repair guy finally arrived he was busy talking to someone over the phone, took 10 minutes looking at our dryer and said your dryer is gone, buy a new one and NO we don't clean vents. I have used them for many years but they blew me away today. I called them because my new washing machine broke and they are my go-to for appliance repair. I spoke with Tanya and she asked if I had a warranty and suggested I call where I bought it for warranty service. She also pointed out that if *they* worked on it it could even void the warranty. I had not even thought of it. Turns out, I did have a warranty and the repair was free from someone else. I apologize in advance for a lengthy post, but my experience with A+ was an expensive nightmare that unfolded during three services calls. On Mar 22, Tyler diagnosed my washer as having a bad relay. He said he had to order the part and would be back on Mar 25 to complete the repair. He recommended the A+ appliance package, which includes checking kitchen appliances and cleaning refrigerator coils. I purchased these services, as well, and was charged $509. On Mar 25 the office staff told me Tyler would arrive at 1. He arrived at 4. While cleaning the refrigerator coils, he made two scratches on my hardwood floors in excess of 2-feet in length. He accepted responsibility for repairing the floor and told me to expect a call from a colleague specializing in flooring. Tyler then attempted to repair my dryer. He left my house at 7:30 p.m., having replaced the relay and the motor. He said he misdiagnosed the issue, which was a bad circuit board. The board had to be reconditioned and he assured me he could complete the repair on Apr 1 (service call #3). Having already been charged over $500, I agreed to the third repair appointment. While scheduling the next appointment, the A+ staff assured me they were taking steps to get my floor repaired. When they could not get a response from the flooring specialist, the staff gave me his name and telephone number and asked me to contact him. I left a message but never received a return call. On Apr 1, after three visits and a charge of $509, Tyler said he could not repair my dryer and would refund my money. However, he then claimed I was responsible for the scratches on my hardwood floor because there was a piece of glass under the refrigerator and he would not accept responsibility for repairing the flooring. I called several companies who clean refrigerator coils to ask about their process. These companies all put a floor covering down before beginning to work on the refrigerator to prevent floor damage and to keep the area clean. That A+ was unable to repair my appliances after three service calls was disruptive and disappointing, but their unwillingness to accept responsibility for my damaged floor is unacceptable and unethical. No light displayed on top but it was surprisingly on all night at 425 degrees and I could not initially get it off in the morning. Scared to even try it again. Called A+ to arrange an appointment and was sent a picture of the tech who was coming. The lady then suggested I turn the oven on again a couple hours before the appointment to see how it functioned. She even sent a text at that time to remind me! She said we would cancel if all worked well but the repairman would arrive shortly afterwards if needed. She also had me find the breaker switch for any future problems. All worked well, the trip was cancelled and I was not charged. She went above and beyond what I would expect. Greatly appreciated and I will definitely use and recommend this company. read more

DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR 90 DAY WARRANTY ON PARTS AND LABOR. IT'S A LIE. I paid $460 to repair a Maytag washer and dryer, but only the dryer was repaired (only needed a new door seal, no brainer). Apparently something magical occurred 2 hours after they claimed to fix the washer, because it didn't work by then. They did not demonstrate it worked before they left either, just yelled out, "done "and left. I just asked for a refund of the part (since it obviously did not fix the problem); but the answer was "no refund policy". The name of the technician that claimed he fixed the problem (problem was no cold water dispensing), was Stephen, I advise to cancel appointment if you see him assigned to your job, or even better, just go with another company. BTW, I live in McKinney, not California, like YELP is capturing. read more

I found this local company to support my community, called, and was pleased that they were able to arrive same day about 3-4 hrs later. That was great. The problem? This was the 2nd time for our clothes washer to go on the fritz, knowing the repair needed, and the error I was encountering. When the technician arrived, he never put the washer into diagnostic mode nor tried to clear the code. But, he assessed the $80 diagnostic fee and advised the additional $120'ish ($50 labor and $70 part) to order the part, return, and install it. After I looked over the schematic and diagnostic sheet, *I* was able to clear the error code, getting the machine running again, and order the part for $36 on Amazon as GE OEM equipment. I will be able to perform the repair myself. Staff was nice, quick to respond, and willing to return quickly, but it was honestly a $80 waste of time. No bang for the buck(s). read more

I called and got a next day appointment. The technician was very knowledgeable, but he was a bit condescending on some of his explanations. The second appliance that he took a look at, had two hardware parts that needed to be replaced, I had already looked for then online and called the manufacturer and had part # and prices on both. He told me he was not going to charge me for the second diagnosis. Gee, thanks! (I already did all the work for you!). This initial fee was $85, and the estimate for fixing, screwing in parts for both appliances was over $600, with the $85 fee discounted! Crazy. I ended up buying one appliance and using the other one without a feature. I was out $85 for nothing. read more

Expected that the A1 Appliance representative had the knowledge/skill to paint our kitchen cabinets and install the glass mosaic backsplash efficiently and with high quality. He worked hard but he was not efficient, the results were very poor, and, to top it off, he didn't realize that he did a poor job. He thought he and his team would get a recommendation. Our kitchen is not very large, but it took them a full week (Thursday to Thursday, not working Saturday or Sunday) to "complete" their work. When I came back from a business trip the day they should have been finished (10:30PM) he was still at my house with his girlfriend "finishing and touching up". I could see problems/defects, but it was late and, by then, I knew it was a waste of time having him try to "correct" his mistakes. I just wanted him out of my house. I have photos for most flaws. Blisters and the mix of mat and semi-gloss finish doesn't show up in photos but are obvious when viewed. Quality Issues: 1. Blisters - probably caused by using damp cloths to "clean" the surface before painting plus a humid outside environment (where he painted the doors and drawers). 2. Brush Marks - extensive and prominent in spite of painting with a paint gun. Primer was applied by brush, drying very quickly, and was not sanded before painting. Brush marks were increased by final "touch up" painting. Brush marks were both horizontal and vertical, often on the same piece. 3. Both mat and semi-gloss finishes side by side throughout the cabinets. He mixed the clear coat finish with the paint, claiming it would give the same result, dry faster, and save time. Later inspection of the "mixed" paint by me showed plastic like granules in the paint indicating the clear coat material had reacted with the oil-based paint creating plastic granules and a mat finish. Unfortunately, they also touched up some of the cabinet boxes that I had painted - ruining good work I had done. (See immediately below.) I had reworked the boxes over the weekend (sanding them down to mostly bare wood & repainting them with sponge brushes). Using the unaltered paint gave the semi-gloss finish desired. (My sponge brush paint eliminated drips, runs, brush marks, blisters, and "glopping" in the original paint job.) The paint was completely dry, and I told them to do no additional work on them. (Unfortunately, they did some touch up, causing the finish in places to be a mix of semi-gloss and mat. When I talked with him on Monday about the problems to this point (I hadn't noticed the inconsistent gloss finish on his work yet) I was told those were normal problems that they would fix over the next few days - not a problem. Their "fixes" never corrected the problems. 4. Edges on doors were poorly painted or not fully painted. 5. Touch up to the walls and trim was very poor quality - walls painted with cabinet paint, wall paint on backsplash (they were scraping up to an inch off the backsplash when I came back home), cabinet paint on walls, rough brush marks on the walls that had been painted with a paint gun (by someone else with good quality). 6. Cabinet Gaps - "Shaker" style cabinets, so the middle piece is a separate piece of wood. Left unsightly gaps between pieces. Reading after they left, I learned that the first step should have been applying wood filler to the doors to cover these gaps as well as eliminate any dents or surface defects to the wood. (1 photo but present in nearly all doors.) 7. Painted Hardware Hinges - There aren't many but they didn't remove the hardware or mask it off or take care not to paint it, or clean it up. 8. Poor and Incomplete Trim Painting - This was apparently all painted by brush. There are extensive and prominent brush marks, some going both vertically and horizontally in the same area. Other trim was not painted - the excuse being that I hadn't prepped that trim. I had planned to save money and paint the trim, so had begun prepping it by covering nail marks with wood filler. The trim was pre-primed at purchase. I hadn't imagined I was expected to do half the work for them. (At least, what I ended up painting looks good.) 9. Unpainted ceiling - Because their cabinet touch up had gotten paint on the ceiling, they needed to repaint it. They ran out of paint while I was traveling but didn't notify me to authorize purchase of additional paint. Some areas look more like they just missed parts of the ceiling. 10. Unpainted Baseboard Toe - Contracted with them to add primed toe to the base board but didn't paint it. 11. Extensive Overspray of the Kitchen, Dining and Living Room Floor I have additional complaints but have reached the word count limit - backsplash, ruined special order outlets, work hygiene and safety. I'll fix their poor work this summer. read more

Excellent communication. Friendly, competent techs. Initially thought my SubZero issue was result of an old, torn door gasket, which they painstakingly replaced. Leaking reappeared, and another tech diagnosed a dirty compressor/fan issue. Repeat visit covered under their warranty, although dirty state of compressor could've been issue all along; the door gasket was prob secondary causation. Cannot recommend mire highly. read more
