I came to Gray's with friends who are regulars for the first time on Saturday night. It is definitely a dive ... and I love a good dive! So if you're not into dive bars, it isn't the place for you. The bartender was nice, and like most dives, most everyone knew eachother and the atmosphere was extremely friendly and comfortable. I didn't feel mean girl energy. I didn't feel weirded out by any creepy guys. Just good vibes. A good variety of music as well. I rarely drink, but I would happily come here again when in that mood. read more

From the second we walked in the bartender was scolding us. She was screaming to show her our IDs, which is fine but we barely even walked in the door and she's throwing a fit about it, mind you we're all over 30 so I don't know what the emergency was that second! Then as we are standing there she is talking crap with other patrons about how we are probably gonna walk out without paying because we are young. So basically if you're under 40, you're going to be treated like scum for no apparent reason. read more

The bartender was absolutely terrible. She was nasty to me and the 5 other people I went with. We didn't even get through the door without her saying anything but "I need everyone's ID NOW" it wasn't like a "hey how's everyone doing can I see some ID please" it was nasty and not very inviting. (Mind you all of us are 25+) then she asked what me I wanted to drink and I only asked for a water but she was so focused on getting everyone's ID that she couldn't even remember I asked for a water. (I never got that water) she ended up screaming at my friend for not paying when she never asked for any sort of payment when she gave her the drink, and we only walked a foot away to sit at a table. Over all if you aren't either 60 years or older, or a regular, you won't be treated like a human at this place. I wish I knew her name so I could call her out but she was old and nasty. read more

Holy strong drinks batman. We came here with full bellies ready to enjoy a cocktail, and before we knew it we were blinded by the night! Hahaha. Bartender was nice, but regulars said the drinks are always strong so just heads up on that. They did give us a free drink tho! And made us feel right at home! Will be back! read more

A dive bar of the highest order. There are drinks, loud music, a die hard crowd of regulars. This is everything you would expect it to be. The bacardi and coke we ordered was 9/10 bacardi and a splash of coke. It's was incredibly dark in here and the carpeting literally went up the walls and on to the ceiling. Definitely an odd spot. Good not great is the best way I can describe it. read more

Excellent hidden secret among the well-off classier folk around the Northtowns. Down here in the South now without snow and taxes, but without Gray's place as a choice resort for the night. But when I lived in Kenmore for a few years between 2002 & 2006, this was the place to sneak away to. Smart intelligent people of class, and friendly staff, who'd just pour you the best drinks (usually heavy pour) until the carpeted walls made you feel welcome. Miss this place... nothing like this down here in the Deep South. read more

Grays Place is a nice and a friendly environment, with nice well served bartenders except for the infamous guy manager that everyone "loves" so much and keeps on coming back for. You know why, right? By way overpoured drinks, and feeding women shots over and over and over again to KEEP. THEM. COMING. BACK, and when you get to messed up and don't pay for your drinks anymore because you need water because remember these drinks are "special" drinks, he'll kick you out of his bar and doesn't care what happens to you next , won't even call an Uber. He is selfish and misogynistic and a chauvinist. I myself, along with a very good friend have had several bad experiences at this place with the same guy bartender. I have been blackout drunk before two or three drinks, and have no recollection on how I got home. One time I threw up in the bathroom and instead of having sympathy or at least Calling for me to get a ride, he kick me and my friend out and let us fend for ourselves. Another incident as I was there celebrating my birthday and we met a girl who went from 0 to 100 very quickly on what I saw to be two drinks. She became very black out drunk and The guy bartender kicked her out saying he didnt care if she died, as long as she left his bar now. I was shocked by his comment, and only wanted to see this girl go home safe. I always thought he was a semi-decent guy, but now I see that that isn't true and I saw a new side to him. So, if you want to go to Grays, go right ahead but you know what you're walking into, or don't go on Wednesday Thursday and Saturday nights. read more

Have been going to this local pub for many years and always have a great time. It is like a Cheers setting with all the regulars gladily welcoming any newcomers. They pour a heavy mixed drink and have great beef on weck. read more
