A dive bar of the highest order. There are drinks, loud music, a die hard crowd of regulars. This is everything you would expect it to be. The bacardi and coke we ordered was 9/10 bacardi and a splash of coke. It's was incredibly dark in here and the carpeting literally went up the walls and on to the ceiling. Definitely an odd spot. Good not great is the best way I can describe it.

Word is... the hard boiled eggs are sick amazing! Eat them by the dozen with plenty of cold beer. Season with salt or hot sauce as desired. It's all available. When it comes to classic bar foods, hard boiled eggs are the ultimate. Gray's does it right. - The origin of the term 'hard boiled' is relatively recent and as many things go, it belongs to the New York school of slang. The term originated in Jack Doyle's billiard academy in the heart of Broadway. The term was invented by Doyle, who described a certain class of pool and billiard players as hard boiled eggs, meaning tight in their play, close to finances, and in everything else. The expression captured the fancy of Damon Runyon, who used the term in his tales from time to time. Runyon's short stories celebrated the world of Broadway in New York City during the Prohibition era. Tad Dorgan, an American cartoonist, picked up the term and used it in his comic strips. - There are several theories as to the proper technique of hard-boiling an egg. One method is to bring water to a boil and cook for eight minutes. Another method is to bring the water to a boil, but then remove the pan from the heat and allow eggs to cook in the gradually cooling water. Others prescribe cooking in continually boiling water over heat for a shorter period of time. - Whatever the methods used, boiled egg connoisseurs agree. Gray's Place has some serious hard boiled action going down.

The male bartender is awesome.. Likes to show his nipple though. Very strong drinks and great atmosphere.

My suggestion is to call ahead for pick up as seating is as claustrophobic as the parking lot. It took me almost an hour from seating and beverages to having food in front of me. Also, set up a group text with your party as it's too loud to hear a person next to you talk. TLDR food was passable ambiance is what you'd expect from a neighborhood bar with a small kitchen. Takeout is a must with this place. Note, the steak I smelled cooking smelled divine. I should have ordered that.

He made the day! It's a tavern. Youre getting paper towels as napkins and tight seating. And you'll love it. We split the french onion and the fish fry. Im not usually one for fish fry sides. But damn--they were good. Both the Mac salad and the potatoes were excellent (and I dont love mayo) and very dill forward. Fish fry. Our new favorite. Maybe favorite stateside, not just wny. But definitely favorite in WNY. Crispy. Perfectly cooked fish. Not fishy. Huge. We split it. French onion: so much cheese! I ain't complaining. Good broth. Melting onions.
