As you walk in, this place as a great vibe. The walls are dark and the booths are comfortable. There is a large drink list with plenty to offer everyone. I had a grilled cheese that was tasty, though not particularity interesting. There are lots of vegetarian options if you need them, and lots of meat options if you don't. We went for brunch on a Sunday and waited ten minutes for a table. Our party of four was seated on the top floor. There were about eight tables and only two were occupied. Not a big deal, but just wanted to note that. Their kitchen is located on the top floor and our table was right by the door, so there was a lot of shuffling of waitresses and waiters and fear of being smacked in the head with a tray during the entirety of our meal. The atmosphere in this classic bar was awesome. I just sat there and looked around taking it all in. I love seeing old buildings live on and being used like this. The food was very tasty with a fusion of bar food and Indian cuisine. While it's not authentic Indian, the dishes had strong flavor from India. The wontons were messy but tasty. The butter chicken was very good but it's hard to compete with some butter chicken in the area. The chicken quesadilla had a kick to it but we thought it was very good as well. I've never frequented this place before, but had heard good things. I ordered through Grubhub, which I have done many times since the stay at home order. On the order itself, I asked to substitute mashed potatoes and gravy instead of fries. They are the same price on the menu... I was charged the full amount for a side of mashed potatoes and gravy; which I would have been fine with if they gave me the fries as well that were supposed to be with the fish dinner. They didn't. So I ended up paying $18 for two filets of cod and a slice of lemon. I asked for extra tarter sauce for the fish, and extra ranch for my salad. I didn't receive either. NO tarter sauce was included. The food was cold, so I can't speak much to the quality of it. My biggest issue was the note that was included in my bag (see picture). It states "Sorry you had to wait so long! Order delivery from us & it'll be faster. -Graydon's" This is tacky and unprofessional. If you don't want to be involved with Grubhub, don't. It's that simple. Don't put less effort into Grubhub orders and then try and poach customers by bribing them with proper service. I won't be frequenting this place in the future. read more

Great find..... I travel to GR several times a year but this place has not been on my radar for some reason. Great selection of beers, very cozy atmosphere, and good service. I got the Burnt Chili Salmon and was asked how I would like it cooked and stated mid-rare (now keep in mind that 9 out of 10 times it comes medium to well at typical spots unless I am at a high end restaurant). Because of this they received a 4 piece as please don't ask if you can't cook it to temp.....not a big deal for me as I thought the salmon dish was still amazing and look forward to coming back next time I am in town. read more

Big up to Graydon's! This establishment has been around since 2008 I believe and they have had their ups and downs but have always been a solid spot to drink and get the goods. This particular visit made me realize why I love this place so much. Came for dinner with my parents and enjoyed solid service, good beer and an all-around amazing meal. No one was for want and we all left full and satisfied. This is how it should be and exactly how it was this particular night. Big hats off to the chef and the staff that made this dinner a great one. The goods for the night that blew our socks off were the beer cheese. Solid appetizer. So good. The Danbury loaded with lots of meat and oh so good! The Indian BBQ stuffed with veggies and had my wife licking her fingers. She wouldn't even share any! Parents had the grill cheese which was super souped up and mom was happy. Dad couldn't even eat all his Carriage House beef and was so happy with all that fall off the bone meat! I've been ordering home delivery from here since the pandemic began, but the past few orders have been less than desirable. Last night the fish and chips order was very disappointing. They didn't include any lemon or minted peas. The piece of fish was enormous but it was so overcooked I threw most of it out. The fries were also very overcooked and too dry to eat. The Brussels sprouts were probably the best I'll ever have. I know they will be hard to beat anywhere else for me for a long time. The Pimento cheese. Usually I steer clear of this. It can be very quickly made and taste very basic, because it actually is. But this recipe kicked it just a little extra. After these two dishes and two aviations, we were full. My husband ordered the house Bloody Mary which he said was excellent especially for five dollars, he got a little shot of beer with it too. To eat he ordered the eggs Benedict that he said was one of the best he has had! I ordered a gluten-free grilled cheese with the pesto and tomatoes it was excellent the bread was so good the fries that came with it were good. Very poor service from start to finish. Waited 15 minutes at the host stand while the host was M.I.A. to even put our name in. Server, Taven, dropped our food off and basically ran the other direction, never checking if we needed anything or if the food turned out correct. I was able to enjoy a black and tan with Guinness and Smithwicks! It's not easy finding Smithwicks on tap, so when you do, take advantage! Started with the Bang Shrimp. It had good flavor and was nice and crisp. It came over a leafy green salad. The Shepherd's Pie was really good. Had the perfect meat to potatoes ratio and was full of flavor. The star of the show was the Fish and Chips! It was a HUGE piece of fish. Crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside. First, a huge thanks to all the Yelpers who previously reviewed Graydon's Crossing-based on the great reviews, we decided to check it out. We were meeting up with family, and wanted to have a great meal with great company, and we were not disappointed. My eldest daughter arrived first and called to ask if we were aware it was more of a big bar. But having read the reviews, I assured her it was not just a bar, and there was additional seating upstairs. We arrived a few minutes later, parking in the private lot adjacent to the restaurant (close and free parking is always a plus). Then my youngest daughter expressed concern about our attire, upon seeing several people, wearing "dress" clothes, enter the restaurant. All about perception, right? However, knowing what kind of food awaited inside, I was not going to allow any kind of deterrent. My kids are all adults now, so I can be selfish about dining choices, especially since we (my hubby and I), usually pick up the tab, right? Upon entering, we noticed the stairs to the left and the bar straight ahead, stretching almost the entire length of the restaurant. Though there were lots of customers, it wasn't crowded. We also noticed people wearing everything from casual to dress, so no worries about our attire. Two of our party were already seated in the very back section, located past the bar, in an almost private booth (perfect, since we sometimes have issues with volume control). The eldest had already ordered and received an "Orange Whip" cocktail, which she thought was okay, but I actually liked, though not a fan of orange flavored drinks. It was not overly orange-y, even with "Tang" listed as one of the ingredients, and it was just sweet enough. Loved the whipped egg white "cream" on top. I ordered a "War of the Roses," because I currently have a thing for St. Germain and I like gin. It arrived in a martini glass, and it was delicious! Then, to start, we ordered the Calamari. Flash-fried with lemon cream sauce, fried beer bacon, ink sauce, scallion and chili threads, it was unlike any calamari appetizer we've had before, and within minutes, only traces of black squid ink remained on the plate as proof that it had ever existed. Then the main dishes arrived. The hubby and I both ordered the Butter Chicken. Beautifully prepared, the chicken was tender, the Basmati rice perfectly cooked and the curry fragrant with a mild-medium heat (perfect for us-we love the flavor complexity of curries, but unfortunately, don't enjoy medium-hot to hot heat). Everyone who sampled ours agreed it was delicious. My youngest loved the Soba Bowl, especially the broth and noodles. It was the one dish I didn't taste. My eldest ordered the Steak & Corn Risotto, which she loved, and which I tried and also thought was yummy. She ordered the Orange Chili glaze on the side, since she can't eat spicy food, but the glaze had hardly any heat and it really made the dish sing, so she dipped each bite into it, carefully avoiding any of the hot "flakes." I'd happily order this for myself on a future visit. However, the dish I'll be ordering on my next visit is the Fish & Chips. My daughter's girlfriend ordered this, and after trying it, all agreed it was the best batter fried fish we'd ever tasted! A whole fillet, not chunks of whole-knows-how-many different fillets, both fresh and flaky. But it was the outstanding, thin and crispy fried beer batter exterior, which had us over the moon! It was the best batter fried fish we've ever had, hands down. No wonder it was "Voted West Michigan's Best Fish & Chips". Can't wait to go back and order it, well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive. Outside of the food, our server was lovely and helpful. Only one tiny downside to our visit. We sat at a table under one of the air ducts, and my hubby was directly under the spot where the condensation collected and dripped a solitary droplet of water every few minutes. We scrunched in a bit so he could avoid it, but maybe they could figure out a way to divert those drops? We could have moved our seats as well, but didn't, so not entirely on the restaurant.
