After a windy day in the beach, my friend and I were looking for a nice little place for some lunch. We were looking around Pacific City when we stumbled upon this place. Very cute from the outside and just as cute in the inside. We sat ourselves at a corner table in their sunroom area and only waited a few minutes until we received menus and water. I ordered the French toast which is made with house made challah bread and my friend ordered the vegan sunrise plate. I also order the hot chocolate which was so warm and comforting on such a gloomy day. Our food arrived within an average amount of time (10-15 minutes) and was piping hot. Let me tell you, next time I get caught in the rain on a beach trip I'll definitely be coming here. Felt welcomed as soon as i walked in, had amazing food, and a lovely waitress who checked in on us to make sure everything was going well. All in all, you should really eat here! Been here several times. Will be back several times more. This is all around healthy good home cooking. My neighbor gets her gluten free scones here (& they are delicious!) Everything we've had is wonderful. Everyone (if you're fortunate to live here) knows their names at the GB. ! Had a hankering for apple turnovers. Called and they made 'em for pick up the next day! Outstanding! Downside...well, standing on the scale was not a good idea.... Why not 5 stars? Clean bathrooms are always the first sign of good food. I know it sounds strange but just try it sometime. This place is impeccable the staff is friendly and nice down to earth and the food is absolutely magnificent. Couldn't ask for better service and better food for a reasonable price. We were way too full for dessert but couldn't pass up the German chocolate cake so we jokingly said we would have one bite and take the rest home. This place is absolutely adorable, the interior is very nice and the employees are friendly. Sadly, it is the food that's lackluster. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich which I was not at all disappointed by, but sadly my party's Turkey sandwiches were far less enjoyable. Not only were the turkey slabs far too thick to be enjoyable, but they also tasted quite watery. At least the sourdough bread was good. Good vibes, (clean, charming space) nice staff, grateful deadness is mostly a fun theme rather than overpowering (ie no Grateful Dead music playing ) We both had the fish tacos which were pretty darn good, not fried which I'm thankful for, nice pineapple slaw and everything tasted fresh. Rice and beans had great flavor yet still light. Recommended. AMAZING HOSPITALITY!!! So... two weeks ago I stopped here and order a salad to go. I got back to my office only to realize they did not put the dressing in with the salad. Visiting from Houston, Tx and had never heard of a Marion Berries. I had the French toast with Marion berry Apple compote and it was AMAZING!!!! Our waitress was extremely busy but she was so incredibly nice and friendly and didn't seem bothered at all that she had so many tables and was stretched! Minus the really rude service upon entering this restaurant - no eye contact, short snappy replies (trust me, not going to get into the full story, but as a former service industry employee - totally unacceptable rudeness), this was a great place to eat. After the rude server (older woman) basically acted like I was a huge inconvenience on an off hour during a Thursday - a younger employee apologized and said they could seat us right away when I indicated we didn't think this would be a good experience for us. Glad we stayed and got a new server (a delight! V friendly) and the food was amazing. Best brunch I've ever had and I loved the Grateful Dead theme. So awesome. This is a great little spot in a beautiful location. Pacific City is small but is surrounded by great scenery. There is a reason this place gets good reviews and for the one person who called it overated I am pretty sure wasn't getting laid on his vacation. The pastries and the food all look and taste great. Great bakery and restaurant, and a worthy latte in addition. If you're in Pacific City, you need to come here for at least one meal. This place is a gem, with delicious diner-like breakfasts that offer just a little bit of sweet with a lot of additional flavors. The french toast with fruit compote was amazing, and probably the best french toast I've ever had. The blueberry bun was packed with fresh blueberries, twisted in a buttery brioche with the sweet frosting giving it that bit of sugar without making the blueberries fade into the background. I was most impressed with the latte, as that I don't expect high quality espresso shots from a restaurant that isn't first, and foremost, a Starbucks-style cafe, but this was probably the best coffee drink I had in Pacific City, and definitely worth the stop on the way out of town. The service is great, but keep in mind this place can get a little busy as the late morning turns into afternoon on the weekends. This place is definitely not to be missed. read more

Yummy breakfast and lunch in one trip! I did something I never do...I ordered blueberry pancakes! I am an egg and potatoes type of girl...so pancakes was a surprise for all. The blueberry pancakes were great! My husband ordered a tuna melt on their fresh baked wheat bread. It came with home fries and he was very happy.
