WE WERE RUNNING BEHIND, and they were going to close before we got there... so we called ahead and begged, please please can you stay open so all six of us can get ice cream? and they said YES!!!! we got there 25 mins after they closed and two of their KIND staff members stayed to serve us the best ice cream we've all ever had. One of the samples was called Hembree and the lady behind the counter said it was their version of. Havarti. Well it really isn't. We also bought a couple of spicier cheeses as well. While the cheese was good, the prices aren't. If you notice from the picture, the cheeses are between $23 and $25 a pound. For that kind of money, we would expect a fine aged cheese which these certainly are not.

I was confronted by a man today in this establishment that apparently works there and drinks there…read moreon his off time. He proceeded to want to fight me outside the bar and kept interjecting when I was having a conversation with the bartender. The bartender and I were having a cordial conversation and learning where each other came from. She had told me she had came from Bend which was kind of cool because I had just came from bend earlier in my travels. The man said he had a grudge against me from the previous day where we had maybe a 2-minute conversation about pretty much nothing and he walked away. I thought that was the end of it. I came in today to get some food. Some sweets and a few drinks and head home like a normal human being. This man wanted to deal with his psychological issues pertaining to yesterday's incident when I had no recollection of said incident. I told him I knew nothing about what he was talking about the day before and that he seemed like a good-hearted person and we could have a good conversation. He proceeded to tell me that wasn't the case and that he wanted to have words and physically harm me in some way outside. He then was talked to by the bartenders and left without incident. I just don't understand how people can be the way they are when all I'm trying to do is have a nice summer vacation for myself and Liv in a way that keeps the peace. On a side note, the food is delicious. They have good prices on alcoholic drinks and their pastries are phenomenal. Just watch out if you see a bald guy that works there cuz I don't want other people to have to deal with that kind of confrontation. For a small coastal town I was not sure if I was going to find good pizza but boy was I wrong! My roofing crew was doing some work in the next town over so I wanted to surprise them with pizza and sweets. I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant/ bar. The decor was really cool! They had old game boards hung up like wall paper, it was neat to see some that I almost forgot about as a child. I saw they had a ribeye special that I wished I would have tried. If I'm back in the area I'll surely check this place out again!

They've done such a great job transforming the store. We love the merchandise, the coffee, and honestly, just wandering around to see what's new. It's become a daily stop for us whenever we're on the coast. This Summer, our trip was a little different because our daughter was getting married on the beach just a few miles away. While talking with the owners, they asked about the wedding and we ended up telling them about something fun we had planned. Before the dancing started at the reception, the bride, groom, bridal party and guests were all going to change into sweatsuits for the second half of the night. We mentioned that we should send the bridal party over to Neskowin Provisions to check out their new sweatsuits. They asked a few more questions about the wedding and then said, "Why don't you send the bridal party here tomorrow and we'll outfit them...on us." We were completely caught off guard by their offer. The next day, the entire bridal party came into the store, and they helped everyone--including the bride and groom--pick out their sweatsuits. And they generously gifted the entire bridal party their outfits. It was such a thoughtful thing to do. They simply heard about our daughter's wedding and wanted to do something special for the celebration. We were incredibly touched by that. We already loved Neskowin Provisions, but this experience made us appreciate the people behind the store even more. They went out of their way to do something incredibly generous for people they really didn't even know, simply because they heard our daughter was getting married. Thank you for being such wonderful people and for helping make our daughter's wedding weekend even more special. If you're visiting Neskowin, definitely stop in. The coffee is great, the merchandise is always on-trend, and now we have an even better reason to love this little store.

This place reminded me of the small grocery store my family frequented when i was a child many years ago. Chester's is a great, slightly small, full service market with prices that are not sky high. The produce section was actually very well stocked, as were the meat and seafood areas. In short, my grand daughter and i found everything we needed and didn't have to leave town to do so. The store was clean, and well stocked and organized. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. It was very easy to find, and the large parking lot made it easy to get in and out of.

Realizing there was no real deadline to arrive home, a few minutes later I turned around, and am so glad I did! A visit in September means pumpkins, squash, mums, pansies, and other cold hardy plants will greet you at the entrance. Inside were charmingly packaged daffodil bulbs with corresponding photos. A cascading tangle of dried hops was gorgeously displayed. Prices (very reasonable) were written on a chalkboard, and there is a deposit box in which to place your funds. Alas! They only accept cash, of which I had none handy, so come prepared! It appears their offerings flow with the seasons, and while they are a little ways from my home, I never shy away from a drive along my favorite US highway, so I'll surely return before long. They would even be worth adventuring a bit out of your way. An absolutely charming little farm stand!
