I have seen Jacobsen Salt at stores all around the Portland area and beyond and I was excited to visit the place where the magic happens! Jacobsen Salt has a beautiful waterfront property with plentiful parking a a small gift shop. The gift shop is small. When we arrived in the gift shop the person running the shop yelled at "you two" to start in a specific part of the store. I was a little put off, but continued to browse. We asked about the flavorings of the salt and was quickly corrected that the salts are not flavored like jello but infused. The interaction was a a bit off putting to me. The salt itself is wonderful. Definitely a premium product with varying price points.

Prior to stopping by Jandy Oysters company I had to stop by Jacobsen salt to bring their Habanero salt, definitely worth it I sprinkled it on my oyster shooter on some fresh oysters fire!! Also purchased the habanero salt was expecting salt being slight spicier, definitely settle flavor I wish they would make a Carolina ripper & Scorpion Trinidad salt that's my Scoville rank. I purchased the big stake seasoning bottle can't wait to try it! I do recommend this place I've been using this salt on my everyday cooking, salt has a good purity flavor. The place don't have much to see, I was hoping a tour or maybe just to see the process on making the salt. Regardless good salt, definitely will order through the web. If you're in the area get you some sea salt other wise the website will do.

    The salt lineup!

Supporting a women-owned business AND buying amazing artisanal salt?! Yes, please! Favorite flavors are Pinot noir and cherrywood smoke, followed by White Truffle. Just go ahead and buy the salt sampler if you can't make up your mind on which flavor to get. :) Thanks for the tour, Marni! We'll be back again soon.

    Becoming the amazing Jacobsen salt.

Cute retail store sells salt. I bought sea salt flakes and kosher salt. Bright white. Not cheap!

Not much of a tour, but unique. We enjoyed the samples and walked away with a few items.

So, I was told this location is dog friendly and offers tours but the reviews are very confusing. Can someone please clarify these points for me before I plan my visit? Thanks so much.

The jerky outlet was awesome with really affordable prices and a variety of flavors, including tons of sugar-free options. They had your classic beef jerky, pepperoni sticks, and sausage sticks. There was this 2 foot long sausage stick package in a variety of flavors that as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to get it. It was impressively long and looked juicy. Tillamook Country Smoker is a grab and go spot. The shop is a tiny building with a small parking lot, but easy to find parking. It's right off the 101, super convenient. The prices are just unbeatable!

Not what it used to be…read more They've tried to make the food look "upgraded," but the portion sizes definitely don't match the prices. It feels like county fair pricing -- except at least at the fair, you get way more food. I ordered a $15 cheeseburger that looked more like a slider. The bun was cold, the patty was barely warm, and it tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. Not great. Fries were the only solid part of the meal -- and ironically, they were bigger than the burger. We also tried the fried cheese curds, but the batter was too thick and hard, and they were lukewarm. They'd be much better with a lighter, crispier coating. A single square slice of pizza? $10. A 12oz milkshake? $8. Meanwhile, the $4 kids' ice cream was huge -- basically adult-sized. Sadly, after this visit, I don't think I'll be coming.
