Granny's Kitchen wasn't in my plans for dinner but I pulled in the parking lot to turn around and decided just to eat there as I was exhausted. The buffet is not normally something I'd chose but was where I ended up. I took it as a sign I was meant to be there. They have an entrance and exit door then the host or hostess will seat you. The buffet was $16.95 with drinks and dessert extra. This is a very busy place and they have two tables of 4 next to each other so different groups were seated at each 4 top. The buffet has one section for a salad, lettuce and toppings. Then the next section is hot foods with a variety of vegetables and meats. I remember potatoes, corn, fried chicken and meatloaf and on the end is a carving station for roast beef. But I know there were more options. The salad portion was ok but the potatoes and the corn were great. Then I had roast beef and really enjoyed that. They don't give big portions of it so you need to make a multiple trip. I did have some apples too and liked those. Service was friendly and kept my iced tea filled. I had heard about the pie so decided to get a slice of the peanut butter pie to go. The pie was ok and I wouldn't order that again. I'd return to Granny's Kitchen as the food was very good. I'd prefer ordering from a menu though rather than the buffet. But this is how they have it setup.

Stopped in for lunch. The buffet was fresh. Has a salad with mashed potatoes, green beans, fried squash and fried chicken. The staff was helpful and they were efficient. The atmosphere was semi quiet considering it was lunch.

I'm not sure why only 3 stars? This restaurant was clean inside and outside. The day my wife and I visited was on a Sunday and it was packed. The bathroom was well kept and clean the servers were friendly and the food was great. This is a home cooked meal buffet with all the items you would expect at your Granny's table. This was a very nice find and we will be returning.

Let's start with ordering is super easy . I included a picture of the menu taken 7/24. Pricing is not bad at all in today's economy. The place itself has a lot of seating so we didn't wait long at all and the parking lot look pretty full. The place was a bit noisy but not so noisy that it was a distraction. The surprising thing was there was one and only one buffet carousel. Both sides were available to get your food. This was for lunch on a Saturday. The food was good old southern comfort food. We found the food lacking a bit of salt. Like most buffets, surely there is something you will find that you really like. . Mine was the baked apples. There was one soup - chicken noodle. The soup was next to the plates. The salads included pasta salad, coleslaw, potato salad and mixed greens. Then a good amount of toppings for your mixed greens. The made up almost 1/2 of the buffet bar. A quarter of the bar was devoted to side dishes. Green beans, Mac and cheese, cabbage, black eyed beans. Then the last quarter was the main entrees and spiced apples. 2 Main meals - fried chicken and pot roast which could be put over rice. One and only one dessert- chocolate pudding with whipped cream and cookie crumbles. You paid as you left with the cashier not at the table and there was a 3% credit/debit transaction fee. If I was in the mood, I would return! It's a good value and fast service.

This is a must visit if in Cherokee! Amazing breakfast! Grits, French Toast Sticks, Apples, Bacon, Sausage Gravy.... Yum! And I am picky! Everyone was friendly and efficient! Love the atmosphere of this long time staple of the community. I ate all the food before pics! It was pretty too!

Such a cute little place! And all the proceeds the day we went were going to families from Hurricane Helene so that was such a worthy cause! Service was super friendly and the restaurant had a big layout even though it looked smaller from outside! It was a small buffet but enough for even your picky eaters! We went for breakfast and came kind of close to lunch so definitely recommend getting there with enough room to spare for refills on the buffet!

One of the best places to eat in Cherokee! If there's a line out front, just know it's worth the wait.

It's a locals' favorite. Family style eatery! Some canned veggies, homemade fried chicken, some decent salads and dessert.

Very crowded for very limited selection of food. I thought with it being a buffet there would be a much larger variety. Also very cramped

The bagels were very different from any we have had before, had a very home baked bread taste. The sweet potato bowl was very flavorful and hit just the right note for lunch. The shop itself is adorable, clean, and had a steady flow of customers. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered an iced dirty chai latte, which is my go-to whenever I'm trying a new coffee shop because it's a pretty reliable way to compare places. It was good, and exactly what I was hoping for. I also tried the cinnamon roll. It was tasty, but pretty standard. Looking back, I think I'd try one of their other bakery items next time. My friend ordered one of their homemade biscuits. It took quite a while to come out--around 15 to 20 minutes--and several other customers were served before we received it. It honestly felt like the biscuit may have been forgotten, which was a little disappointing. Overall, though, we had a pleasant experience. Nothing was overpriced, the staff was kind, and it's the type of local place I always encourage travelers to support. While there are a couple of other coffee shops in Bryson City I'd probably try before returning, I still think La Dolce Vita Bakery is worth a visit so you can form your own opinion. Every café has busy days, and one experience doesn't define a business. If you're looking for a cozy local spot for coffee and a pastry while exploring downtown Bryson City, it's definitely worth stopping in.

The meat and three along with the vegetable only options are welcomed changes to the family style only meal for those desiring smaller portions. In our experience, the food was served hot and was perfectly prepared. We chose white meat chicken and received two large breast that were excellent! The two catfish fillets and four slices of meat loaf were delicious. The vegetables were Lima beans, cabbage casserole, creamed corn, potatoes au gratin, slaw and a spring salad. All were served fresh with two biscuits and two corn muffins. The relish, apple butter and Sogrum-sage butter were delightful. We were blessed to have April for our server, and highly recommend her for your visit. She shared the history of the area and is proud of the changes and history of the Dillard House. Thank you for a great meal. The fried chicken is better than I remembered. Yes, the restaurant is open, and parts of the motel are being remodeled/updated and the new hotel is under construction. Don't let the remodeling deter you from the eating at the restaurant or enjoying your favorite drink from the bar.

Poor service, poor food quality. Not impressed at all…read more Ambience is nice, very spacious, newly built, restaurant. Friendly staff. Not very attentive at all. Say for 15 minutes before the manager had to obtain a server for our table. After the food was delivered, the server did not provide adequate service. I requested a water refill, which took an additional 15 minutes, because she continually forgot. Food quality wasn't the greatest. They served chicken, which consisted of 2 thighs and 2 drumsticks. Along with friend catfish filets, that had been way over salted. Both were very soggy. I ate half the thigh and quit. Veggies? Only vegetables were Lima beans, everything else considered vegetables, was a casserole. A table full of starches. Over rated and over priced. Sadly disappointed. If you want good southern food, go further south to Thomasville, GA. Go to O'Neals. You can fool some folks, but not someone that knows southern cooking. We won't return.
