My favorite place for donuts in my hometown. I thing out if the ordinary, just good donuts. The cinnamon crumb cinnamon roll is my favorite. read more

Maybe I'm out of practice (yes, you have to have a solid stomach to eat doughnuts), but these were heavy and greasy and made me feel slightly queasy. Service was fine, as everyone else has said. read more

Discovered this place because it's the closest coffee spot to my work. It's exactly what I wanted: straightforward hot coffee that's great plain but they do have the option for various creamers and such. Donuts are light and fluffy and are the perfect sweetness. Owners are kind and I enjoy chit chatting with them on my work breaks! They have plenty of hand sanitizer and don't handle the cash without gloves which I appreciate. Also, coffee and a donut for under $4? Solid. read more

Amazing donuts, amazing service, and very cute store. Woman at the front was a sweetheart! Amazing customer service

Really tasty donuts here! Staff is nice and the prices are really good. One of the best donuts I've ever had. Top 3 for sure! read more

Granny's Donuts - Bakeries Near Me - Long Beach, California

Ham and cheese Croissant!!! SO fluffy and flakey. Service is great. The mom and pop that works here always says good morning with a smile. They have been in business for about 30 years selling fresh donuts. Nothing I ever tried is stale or old. This one time I was too late to order a ham and cheese croissant and the lady offered me a day old one for a discounted price. It was in the fridge and still good. They have tons of of drinks to choose from. Cash only! read more

I'm washing across the street went to get a donut. Stood in line for five minutes while she talked to the two customers ahead of me then another lady walked in and she just started helping her so I left because how rude to take someone else knowing I had been standing there waiting but if I'm black so she feels why h we look me smh sad that people still won't accept anyone's money read more

I love this donut shop! The lady who works there is so nice as well. The prices are good and they have a great selection of basic donuts. Thank you! read more

One of my favorite local finds since moving to Long Beach! The owner is the sweetest and most caring person. I always feel happier after chatting with her -- you are a local treasure! The donuts are also outstanding, try the maple long or glaze donut holes. Also, the coffee is DIVINE, feet above the fancier coffee places (and half the price). Cheers to your lovely sugar rush! :) read more

Nicest thing that's happened to me during COVID! Such a pleasant owner and grateful for her kindness

I always get the yellow cake chocolate frosted donuts with sprinkles. These donuts satisfy my daily chocolate cake and donut cravings. The donuts are always fresh, the frosting and sprinkles are generous, and the owners are super nice! read more

I'm getting a little emotional just thinking about the pecan muffins. Sometimes they use walnuts instead; I love them either way. They're sensuously sticky and are the perfect companion to black coffee, which this place also knocks out of the park. Friends don't let friends go to Krispy Kreme, so come through and keep in mind that it's a cash-only joint. read more

Excellent donuts!! (and Giant croissants) very fair prices! Old fashioned glazed or with chocolate, jelly raspberry or lemon donuts and chocolate coconut cake donuts were some highlights! Very nice staff with shop doors wide open and a plate and bowl system for contact free cash payment. Plenty of parking out front. Probably not good if you're dieting as there are too many good choices to leave with only one donut! read more

I am not really a donut eater, but I brought some to school as a prize for one of my classes, and when I stopped in at 6:30 am they were all warm and just out of the oven, and actually smelled so good that it made me want to eat one (I didn't). Here comes the 2 star part. Because they were so warm, I asked the guy cramming all 36 of them into the box if the chocolate would melt and they would stick together. Now, this is obviously a fellow that knows his donuts, and he told me, "Not at all. The chocolate is already set." Wrong! It was a mess trying to get them out of the box, which he obviously knew would happen, but didn't want to a) have to give me more than 2 boxes for my 3 dozen donuts and b)answer in the affirmative on the off chance that I would decide against purchasing said donuts. Not that I bring in donuts very often, but I wouldn't come back here if it came up again. That, and a more weathered donut eater than I am told me that they weren't particularly fabulous. read more

My regular doughnut place was closed so I decided to try out this place. I was very impressed with it. I ordered 2 ham and cheese croissants and they were both flaky, savory and delicious. I also grabbed a dozen donuts and was very impressed with them as well. All of them were quite hefty, but without getting too heavy or dense. The service was excellent as well. A young guy was very friendly, and I had a few good laughs with him. All in all an excellent doughnut place, and I will be coming back. read more

These donuts are touch and go. Sometimes they're good and other times you can tell they're day old. I believe the couple that owns this shop doesn't like to show up early and make the donuts before opening, so they make them later in the day or at night for the next day. The problem with this is that they don't store the donuts properly. They sit in open cases uncovered and unrefrigerated. This includes the cream and jelly filled donuts. One time I walked in, saw flies dancing around the donut case, so I turned around and walked out. read more

CASH ONLY MOTHER FUCKERS...and don't mess with Granny. She'll crack an awkward joke right as you're waiting for your change...so you have to oddly chuckle while she slowly picks dollar bills and loose change from the till. Then, then I say high-tail it out of there and slam a donut in your car. Ya heard? read more

Came here around 11am on a Sunday after we put our names on the ridiculous waiting list for Coffee Cup Cafe. Parking was easy as it's in a strip mall with a small lot. Place was empty. I can't remember the last time I went into donut shop so I have no idea if the prices were good but they're all under $1.00 a donut. I got a maple bar and my husband got a glazed old fashioned and we ordered 2 coffees. Both tasted soft, fresh and tasty but again, I'm no donut connoisseur. The girl at the counter was really nice and asked us our plans for the day and we chatted a bit as we ate our donuts inside. She ended up giving me a chocolate bar instead of a maple bar and when I brought it to her attention, she apologized, told me to keep the chocolate (because she couldn't sell it) and also gave me my correct donut. Very pleased -- some take the incorrect item knowing that they're just going to throw it away so I appreciate her thoughtfulness. Overall, I'm happy with this spot - it's not much to look at but service is great and donuts are spot on. read more

Do yourself a favor a go to the donut shop down on 2nd st or go up to some of the ones on 7th. This place is nothing special. I give it such a low rating because it just looks like the owner is cheap as hell and doesn't care. Everything inside looks old as hell. Almost like it is granny's.. Hahahaha. It is even kinda dark inside like the owner is too cheap to even turn on the lights. Congrats lady, u saved $5 on your electric bill this month, but u just assured me that u r a cheapass. And I am sure u prolly make your donuts with the cheapest ingredients there are... I know it isn't like I am trying to take a date here, but still I don't want to buy food from a super cheapass read more

Hands down the best in Long Beach! Donuts are a nice size for a dollar and change, and Fresh even at 3pm.

I came here to grab some coffee before my open house not too far away from this place. I didn't get any donuts or anything to eat. Nice little coffee shop, coffee was great! read more

I actually know the owners here and they are nice. They do not sell day old donuts. The donuts are made every morning and the left over donuts are donated or sold. When i forget to bring cash, the lady let me pay later until the next time i came there. The donuts are pretty good. if you come on the right day, and if the baker makes it justtt right, the donut melts in your mouth as soon as you bite it. The donuts arent as greasy as other donuts from other shops. When the coffee is just made, it tastes delicious. (in my opinion, better than starbucks) They have vanilla/hazelnut creamer. All you have to do is ask for it, but it will have to cost you an extra 25cents. Cash only! :) read more

Cash only establishment. I didn't have 90¢ for the donut I wanted, so she said to just pay her back next time. Also reminded me to put on sunblock so I don't burn... haha sweetest lady ever, I will definitely be returning for the delicious donuts & great service! read more

Granny's is located on the corner of 4th and Redondo in a small strip mall. I drive by it every morning, nothing special-except that the red light always catches me there. I try to look at the bike shop across the street, but the thought of a sweet jelly donut...makes me drool! Apple fritters are pretty good too-especially if they are still warm. Good prices-but cash only! read more

The place is the friendliest. Great ham and cheese croissant. This place is cash only. I walked in the other day and I didn't think I had enough money for a ham and cheese - the lady looked at me and said "it's ok, you can have one- just don't skip town." Turns out I had three bucks in my wallet, but I was floored with how nice the lady was. Do eat here, support the local businesses. read more

Granny's Donuts - mmm. . . - Bakeries Near Me - Long Beach, California

We were visiting from Texas and walked to Granny's from our Airbnb. Huge glazed and glazed chocolate. I loved the cake/sprinkles. All of us enjoyed the donuts as well as the service. The woman who helped us was so kind. You will love it! read more

I heard good things about this place (under previous management) so I decided to take my little nieces there to get donuts this morning for breakfast. We were planning to order 5 donuts total. At first we had a nice young man helping us so it worked out well for my nieces to get what they wanted, but then an overbearing super rude lady stepped in and took over. I asked for a glazed buttermilk donut. She said they didn't have that one (with a rude tone) so I proceeded to order an old fashioned glaze donut. They had over 30 just sitting there in the window and the front ones that I could see looked fresh and delicious. Instead of giving me a nice fresh one, she pulled one out of the back the that looked about 3 days old. It was broken and didn't even have the glaze all around it so naturally I asked for a different one. There wasn't anyone in line behind us so I didn't feel bad asking either. She snapped at me giving me a ridiculous answer about why she wouldn't give me a normal donut. I felt like a complete imposition for trying to give her my business. I left without a donut and went to Knead Donuts (less than a mile away from Granny's). As soon as we walked out, both of my little nieces couldn't stop talking about how rude and mean she was. It was a really disappointing experience, but the lady at Knead Donuts more than made up for it and all of their donuts are fresh and delicious! It's 4x the price, but worth it for the super gourmet donuts and excellent customer service! She even threw in some free donut holes for my little nieces. If you're thinking of going to Granny's, think again...unless you want someone snapping at you first thing in the morning and giving you old broken donuts. read more

So yummy and the owner is super nice !!! Thank you we will come back next time we're in Long Beach.

Great donuts and inexpensive! I always feel welcomed when I come in. My favorite donut place in Long Beach!

I walk in to Grannys donuts on 4th and redondo with my daughter, everyone in there are old white couples having coffee, they all stop and look at us. I ask the lady behind the register if we can wait inside while our car is getting an oil change at tune up master. She gives me a mean look as if I was dirty and she reply's "I guess" I said well do I need to buy something in order to sit in here? she replies "if you think so so" I buy a cold drink which I already had water in my hand but o buy it just to be able to sit in there. I asked do you have change for a 100? Her reply was "only a real one" and I said excuse me? and she said "a real 1 only" I was super offended. My daughter am d I decided to wait on the bus stop to take the bus home. It sucks that it's 99 degrees out! read more

This place is great. Very simple and great customer service. The donuts are fresh and they have croissants and drinks.

So I know the owners and the family- and I just wanted to correct a few assumptions made by other posters. First, the doughnuts that sit uncovered after the shop closed do not get sold the next day- they sit there until they owner makes new batches fresh in the morning- the day old doughnuts and othe pastries actually get packed and sent over to the Long Beach Rescue Mission. Second, their banana walnut muffins are made with real bananas. I just wanted to put that out there. It is DELICIOUS! *Based on customer service, price, location, and taste, I think this place deserves 5 stars. What else do you expect from a doughnut shop? They have the cheapest priced croissants that I know of. read more

Our first experience at Granny's was... unexpected. My husband ran in to get us coffee and me a donut while I waited in the car. He walked in, asked for two cups of coffee and then remembered that he didn't have any cash. He stopped and asked the woman behind the counter if they took credit cards. She said "No, don't worry about it. You can pay next time." She poured the two cups of coffee and asked if he wanted anything else. He asked for a donut and she put one in a bag. My husband was dumbfounded at her generosity. That is so unheard of! People are usually not that nice. When he got in the car and told me what happened, I dug around in my purse and found a five dollar bill. He took it in and gave it to her and said to keep the change. read more

My FAVORITE donut shop ever! Always gives the best customer service. You will never be disappointed. Take my word for it.

I didn't find these donuts greasy at all. They were, however, mishapen lol. Mine was shaped more like Australia than a donut. The taste of the donuts was really nice though. Not too much vanilla like nearby Favorite and Le Donut. They are fluffy and delicious. The couple that works there is super nice too! Always happy to see you! I wish they were open later than 5pm though! read more

Stopped here for my first time today & was very happy I did! Picked up 2 Doz Donuts, got a nice variety to take to my sons class. Everyone loved the donuts and the most common comment was how fresh they were! My Fav was the glazed twist, it melted in my mouth. I will absolutely come here again. Also the owner was nice & offered to carry my donuts to the car for me since I had a 2 year old in my arms. Very thoughtful & not the norm. read more
