To my surprise, they told me I could come in that day -- in fact, they said, "If you're close, just come now and we'll squeeze you in." I was right down the street, so I did! As soon as I arrived, they checked me in and handed me the new patient paperwork. I didn't even have to wait long before being seen. I didn't get to meet Dr. Nguyen this time, but I was seen by another female optometrist in the clinic and she was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. What stood out the most was how much she cared about my overall health, not just my eyesight. She talked to me about how things like blood pressure, diet, and supplements could be affecting my vision. I've never had an optometrist go that extra mile to really explain what's happening with my eyes and why. The office was clean, the staff was welcoming, and the whole experience was quick, smooth, and informative. This will officially be my new go-to optometrist. My first visit here was kind of weird, but I can understand that because I came in a bit before they were closing. I immediately fell in love with a pair of black frames and said I'd be back. On my second visit, the staff was exceedingly friendly. I didn't feel too bad for trying on so many glasses. Tuyen was especially helpful and proceeded to tell me every little detail I needed to know about each pair, and when I asked, "How do these frames look?" she gave me her honest opinion in a very mannered way. Before having them make my lenses we did a vision test and it turned out that my optometrist had given me a prescription that made me feel very dizzy. They were very patient with me as we tried to sort it out, and the optometrist at beechnut optical offered to check my eyes there and then and issue me a new prescription. Although there was a little bump in the process because of my original optometrist, they took care of me and I love my new glasses. The prices are more reasonable than the Vision Source I normally go to and the hours are better since they close at 7 PM. I highly recommend coming here. They make you feel less like a patient and more like a person.

We were welcomed into an extremely organized, professional, family friendly and clean facility by Dr. Bui and all of her associates. They took the time to ensure we had the correct frame sizes for proper comfort as well as reviewed our insurance coverage to assist with affordability. Dr. Bui further educated me on the correct eye exam needed for my medical situation which the previous Optometrist failed to do. My wife and I will be switching all of our family Optometry needs to Grand Eye Care moving forward. They told me it would take 3 weeks for them to arrive, which is ridiculously too long for a contact lens order. I've gotten them within 5-7 days with major retailers. She then tells me that she would give me a trial until my order arrived and when my lenses arrive that she would open up my order and replace her trial pair (free contacts given to offices by optical businesses) with my newly purchased contacts. This business is so shady and full of crap. I requested a full refund immediately! There's no way you're taking items out of my order to replace something that was given to you for free. PLEASE STAY AWAY from this business! Go to a well-known optical retailer for the best service.

This location is visible in a strip center on the Hwy 59 feeder road near First Colony Mall. So, when your exam is complete treat yourself to a shopping spree. The practice offers low vision and dry eye exams amongst other procedures. The office is clean and spacious with a friendly staff that returns patient calls. Dr. Chau is personable while offering great patient care.

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. After checking in, we paid his copay and requested an itemized receipt before he was seen. That's when we noticed an additional charge for an optional retinal scan, even though no one had asked my husband if he wanted it. We immediately brought it to the receptionist's attention. She apologized and explained that she would have to wait 24 hours before she could process the refund since the payment had already gone through. While I appreciate that they agreed to refund the charge, it should never have been added to the bill without first asking for our consent. Throughout the visit, the receptionist appeared to be new and seemed unsure of many of the processes, which made the experience feel disorganized. After the exam, my husband was given a glasses prescription, even though we had come in for a contact lens exam and never requested a glasses prescription. He was not provided with a contact lens prescription. We were then quoted nearly double the price for an annual supply of contact lenses compared to what we had been told over the phone. When we questioned the difference, we were told that the original quote came from an offshore call center and was incorrect, and that the higher price was actually the correct one. Overall, we left feeling misled. We chose this office specifically because of the pricing we were quoted over the phone, only to find out it wasn't accurate. Between the unauthorized retinal scan charge, not receiving the contact lens prescription we came for, and the significant difference in the quoted contact lens price, our experience at the Sugar Land location did not meet our expectations, and unfortunately we won't be returning.
