Dr. Jennifer Bui, is a POS optometrist and business owner! I came in to order contacts and I requested a trial pair to wear while I waited for my order to arrive. They told me it would take 3 weeks for them to arrive, which is ridiculously too long for a contact lens order. I've gotten them within 5-7 days with major retailers. She then tells me that she would give me a trial until my order arrived and when my lenses arrive that she would open up my order and replace her trial pair (free contacts given to offices by optical businesses) with my newly purchased contacts. This business is so shady and full of crap. I requested a full refund immediately! There's no way you're taking items out of my order to replace something that was given to you for free. Grand Eye Care - Been waiting 20 min and there's no one here. - Optometrists Near Me - Richmond, Texas

TLDR; go somewhere else. - I've never had a worse service experience, and I frequent authentic Chinese restaurants. - They're not honest with timelines or services. (I waited over a month, even though I was told a week) - Never calls you of their own volition for any updates unless it's to ask for more money. - They really just only care about getting your money and have no professionalism whatsoever. I read the reviews after making an appointment and thought, it can't be that bad. Let me tell you, boy I was wrong. The initial appointment wasn't all terrible, they had me fill out a form that was pretty long, which I did. They then proceeded to ask me the same questions again even with my form right in front of her. I came in at opening for a 9 am appointment, but they did not open the store until 9:12, and just an eye exam (no dilation) took until 10. I had another appointment and decided to come back the next day to pick out my glasses. I was a walk-in, so understandably it took them a bit of time before they had time for me. I told Bui that I simply wanted a pair of backup glasses, so just the basic lenses with a blue light filter will do. For the next 30 minutes, she explains to me that I should be getting anti-reflective, polycarbonate.. all the expensive upgrades. To be polite, I sat through it and listened even though I clearly said that it was okay and that I just wanted the basics. After I declined her many times, she reluctantly reassures me that the simple basic lenses with the blue light filter were possible and that they should be done by next week. All good, I pay and walk out. The following week, when my glasses were supposed to be done, I get a call saying that my glasses cannot be done by the lab and that I had to pay double or triple the amount I initially paid to get the blue light filter. I say no, I was told that it was possible, so I'm not paying extra for a mistake they made. I'd like to cancel instead. They tell me no, that the order has already been made, so I'm not allowed to cancel. They tell me they'll call me back to see what they can do. I never get a callback, so I called them the next day to get an update. They tell me that they were able to get it in-house done next week, so I said okay fine. Two weeks later. Nothing. I had to call them to get an update, and they said the lenses just got shipped. I thought the order was already made. Why are they only getting shipped three weeks later? They dodge my question and assure me that it would be ready by the end of that week (it was already Wednesday.) What about my blue light filter? Did they find another lab? No. They were still doing the blue light filter in-house, and the solution would arrive in two days, but it will still be done by the end of that week. I'm not sure if they're not able to do basic math or whether they're just purposely lying at this point, but spoiler alert it was not done that week. I had to call my insurance company to let them know of the issue and they had to track down my glasses for me. I never once got a call updating me that my glasses were ready. I went to get new prescription filled here. I got lots of help on the selection, after paying over 1000.00 on new glasses the right lens popped out as I cleaned it. I returned them for repair. The receptionist apologized , I left them and had to return later that day to get them. The story does not end . A week later the left lens started rattling. I stopped in and I am waiting just to get acknowledged . The wait just to get a I will be with is now nine minutes. By the way help came at ten minutes. An apology was given and accepted, but service is poor . I will not purchase from here again. read more

The girls were very knowledgeable helped me with the selection of my glasses, Dr.Bui really is amazing explaining the tests. Worst experience ever! I recently got my eye exam done by Jennifer Bui. After the check in, one of the high schooler or some graduate did my initial exam - per that young girl I had high eye pressure upon requesting to recheck she said no it's all good. Then comes dr bui.. she tries to run everything from checking your eyes to selling you frames to checking your insurance.. there is no Practice manager. So she does my eye exam n then I go home with the sample lenses.. I have been having headaches because she changed my prescription way too much than what I had before, I called her several times but she refuses to come on phone. I went in n she insisted the prescription she gave me samples for are my accurate prescription n checked my eyes again.. for 30 mins she kept on putting the same prescription number n was trying to convince me that was my number finally she gave up because all I could see was dots n nothing. She gave me a new Rx ( I did ask her why was she so adamant about convincing me the initial prescription is my actual prescription - her response shocked me " per her she already wasted trial pair of lenses on me ( which she gets from the manufacture FOR FREE) n now if someone else needs the same prescription number she will be one box short - she charged me for contact lenses fitting as well - but just because she gave me samples - it HAS TO WORK OUT FOR ME??!!) anyways I still have headaches, now I have to go back n get my eye tested with another dr. again out of pocket to get right prescription . She has no idea what she is doing n running around doing everything herself ( to probably save money) n messing up. She won't care once she charges you n your insurance won't even return your call. Dr.Bui and the entire staff at Grand Eye Care exceeded my wife and I customer service and eye care expectations during a recent visit. We went in on New Year's Eve 30 minutes prior to their closing time after leaving an adjacent Eye Care store whom basically rushed us off. We were welcomed into an extremely organized, professional, family friendly and clean facility by Dr. Bui and all of her associates. They took the time to ensure we had the correct frame sizes for proper comfort as well as reviewed our insurance coverage to assist with affordability. Dr. Bui further educated me on the correct eye exam needed for my medical situation which the previous Optometrist failed to do. My wife and I will be switching all of our family Optometry needs to Grand Eye Care moving forward. Run, don't walk, from this practice! If I could give less than one star, I would. I asked that they file the visit to our medical insurance. They messed it up and I am still dealing with it two months later. So, I've gotten to know them and the business pretty well. They said they didn't have the time to call the insurance company and sit on hold to straighten it out, but that I was welcome to come to their office and call the insurance company. So I did. Have you ever heard of a doctor's office telling a patient they have to come to the office to call the insurance company to get a claim straightened out? She messed it up, not me! Turns out Dr. Bui was submitting the claims online and they weren't going through. So the insurance company said to fax it in. When this all started, Dr. Bui owed us a refund of $70 but she reworked the claim before she faxed it to the insurance company so that now she doesn't owe us anything. What was submitted and is listed on the explanation of benefits is totally different than what is listed on our receipt. Is that insurance fraud? I would pursue it but I am sooo tired of dealing with her and her employees who are not pleasant. Phone calls and emails do not get returned. They'll acknowledge receiving them but don't bother to return them. Our receipt was printed on the back of a flyer they had in the office. They had no printer paper! Seems like someone new is always working there and they have no experience thus leading to L O N G appointments. Even before all this mess with the insurance, my husband and I had decided we would not return to this office for our annual appts. Optometrists are a dime a dozen so look elsewhere. read more

I highly recommend this eye center, the people is very friendly and so so helpful, and the doctor is very knowledgeable and not pushi at all. I went in on a Saturday morning and came out with the right prescription of contact lenses right on the first visit, last year my experience with my old eye center was horrible, took two months of coming in to their office every week to find my contacts, it was a guess game that didn't work. Do not recommend this eye glass store! My daughter got a pair of glasses this year. She kept saying that there was something like "rainbow" on new lenses when she was wearing it. Dr. Bui said, the glasses had not any problems. They did nothing! When we went back to the store in a week. I felt, the quality of the eyeglasses was not good. So, we went to a different eye store and got two more pair of glasses with Dr. Bui's RX, after 3 months, my daughter visited a pediatrician, and found out her eyesight was 20/70 on her right eye with the new glasses! The RX was not correct! Talked with Dr. Bui about this RX issue, she still does not want to help any. Waste of money and time. read more

My husband and I hadn't been to the eye doctor in almost 15 years. Both of us have great vision and hadn't really noticed any chances in our day to day vision until my husband noticed some problems at night. The associates and Dr. did a great job at explaining all the new techniques and technology in eye care. They did great at keeping us informed and providing the best advice for our vision needs. We didn't feel forced to purchase anything and they did a great job at keeping us safe and sanitizing everything to keep us and them COVID safe. read more

This place has the worse customer service. Got a brand of contacts which I called after a month to change out and I was told NO. I bought whole year supply and didn't mind paying out of pocket for something better than Bausch & Lomb. Six months later I'm out of contacts because they keep tearing. First visit for my six year old and he loved it. He was intrigued with the machines and the Dr. was patient and explained everything while taking care of his eyes. The staff were helpful and attentive. The place is extremely clean and spacious. Doctor said I would get a rebate on my sons glasses, I filled out the form and sent back to them to complete. They never did and it is passed the deadline now and I lost the rebate because of them. The doctor charges extra for a contact lens fitting, and tries to push to get as much money as she can. A fitting is putting your lenses on and seeing how you feel???? And I have to pay 139 for that? And I have been wearing lenses all my life? The staff is clueless and know nothing. Then they try to get me to order lenses from them! read more

My appointment was at 9:30. The office opens at 9. I am not sure how they managed to get so behind in thirty minutes that I had sit in an exam room for an hour without ever seeing the doctor, but they did. The assistant seemed very sweet but she could not explain to me clearly what was going on. I finally left because I was not confident they could properly meet my needs when they couldn't even get it together enough to explain why the doctor was running so late. I received my glasses on 12/12/2021 and I tried using them for a week, but the fit was not good. I went back to the doctors office to see if they could adjust them or change to a different style, but the lady refused to assist me with the issue. She did agree that they were too lose, but would not assist. She only stated that I would need to buy new lenses and refused to attempt to help resolve the issue. She refused to see if the existing lenses could be used on a smaller frame and kept insisting that I need to buy new lenses. For the amount of money that the insurance company pays, there should be some form of customer satisfaction, but there is zero satisfaction here. So, now I have a pair of glasses that I cannot use. read more
