Clinical staff are great. Sales staff, I wish I could say the same. I had ordered glasses and was advised the material I chose would be heavy which I was fine with. When they came it, the glasses could not close due to how thick the lenses were. The sales staff said I could pay to have them redone with the thinnest material which I declined at the time. Later on I came to have them redone but after speaking with the sales associate, they could not promise me they would close even with the thinnest material. So they allowed me to go through the process of ordering a pair of glasses that could never work out in the end. No offer to make it right. read more

Dr Quan was pathetic and told me I will absolutely go blind...more than discussing my eyes he discussed Diabetes which made me feel I was at an endocrine clinic. He didn't dilate my eyes nor looked into my eyes...the exam was pathetic waste of my $100.00. Forcing me to go to a retinal specialist probably his friend...pushy and rude doctor. .I asked to get one more eye exam done the OCT and he refused very rudely....I will never ever go to him again. read more

Location 5/5 This optometry is closely located near the beltway 8 and Bellaire. I would do my annual check ups due to the convenience of the location. Pricing 3/5 Glasses have a limited selection of styles. I always have a hard time selecting my glasses and prices are usually on the higher end (even with co-pay). I recommend buying glasses ONLINE. Just request a copy of your prescription. Glasses coatings are not worth it. Get basic unless you're getting blue light! I tried the premium coatings and there's no noticable difference. So I ended up spending more on the lens, but replacing them like usual. Contacts are reasonably priced, and occasionally there are rebates/promotional offers. Make sure to ask! Service 0/5 I ordered 2-3 pairs of glasses and daily contacts from here before. The doctors are really friendly during your eye exam. I did my first contact pairing session here. The girls are generally nice. I understand most of their income/revenue relies on the glasses/prescriptions. However, management pushes upselling too much! To the point it's uncomfortable to the customer. (Rant) After you place your order, their customer service ends btw. During my last experience, I was receiving soliciting messages as a reoccurring customer, and so I unsubscribed by replying "STOP". And this caused their automatic text alerts to be blocked. When I called to ask about my order status, they told me it's been sitting around for 2-3(?) weeks. After I pressed about the issue, they said the text messages were undelivered because I blocked them and they don't check for undelivered messages. They didn't seem apologetic at all, and I felt frustrated by the lack of communication. Probably won't be going back anymore. read more

These people had me accept cheap plastic lenses and a flimsy frame when I was willing to provide my own frames, and I was mistakenly told I could go to them for redemption when I needed to go all the way to UH instead to get high-index lenses. I found this out 5 mins after leaving their store and that my voucher and benefit were now lost and wasted. As you can see in other reviews the staff is rude and arrogant and treat you differently when you arent willing to spend $500 out of pocket. read more

The eye exam experience was pretty good with their modern machines they used. I don't like going to other places as I get queazy having something close to my eyes because I don't use glasses. I basically pay for my insurance like most people thru work and if I don't use it every 2 years, I lose it. I always end up getting a free pair of sunglasses with a small prescription, which is the rule if you fall into the same category. This is where this particular store is a bit shady on which I never had a problem at other optometry places. Typically it takes at least a week for any optical store that sends glasses out to get a lens created and tested and sent back to the store and more if they are busy like at the end of the year when everyone is using up their insurance like I was. BTW, my wife came here a couple weeks prior to my visit and it took a bit over 2 weeks to get her prescription glasses picked up. So I went in, got my eyes check, picked out my sunglasses and I had to go thru the process of picking out my lens, blah blah and I had to pay for this service. First of all the sunglasses is mostly paid thru my insurance with the allowance, (mind you there is a markup if you were to buy the same pair anywhere else which is typical for any optometry place than going to sunglasses hut for example where they don't do prescriptions) I get it, they like to get paid a bit more because the out of pocket is not as much. But here's the catch, they get you on the lenses so you pay of pocket for this. Of course I'm fine with this because bottom line is that I get a pair of sunglasses is relatively cheaper (something like 45% off the full price). So all in all I'm paying about $80 - $100 out of pocket for the frame and for the most basic lens. They call me up the next day and asked me to pick up the glasses and I was surprised and they said it's all done. I went to pick it and there was no lens that I paid for, they claimed they threw it in the garbage and I was like why would you do that? I paid for it, they said they assumed I didn't require it so they threw it. Shady, is all I can say. I'm not accusing anyone but I want proof that it was submitted in and that you didn't pocket the money that I paid for something and didn't get the service for. Overall, the doctors are professional and know what they're doing. They're very patience and friendly towards their patients which I really love. The price for glasses and contact lenses are unusually high. Last time I came, Michael who was helping us to finalize the bill. He did not throughly explaining well. Today, I got my glasses I wasn't satisfy with it. Also, I noticed that I didn't have the the blue light coating which Michael didn't explain or introducing it to us. Yet, Minh was really nice and patience which explaining me all of the concerns that I have. Overall, some employees don't know what they're doing and the management is all over the place. read more

I started going to Dr. Anne Le when was a wee one. I ventured off for a few years for reasons not pertaining to the service and care at BOC. BUT I'M BACK BABY! The location has changed since I first started going to see Dr. Le. She is still as sweet as ever. BOC offers the Optomap but at a charge which won't be billed to insurance. They are really great at giving you pricing WITH any applicable rebates. They call back when they say they will and I was taken back promptly. I only got contacts on my latest visit, so I cannot comment on their frame selection and anything related to glasses. Making my appointment was easy and I think their hours are pretty flexible for those who may not want to take off work to get their eyes checked. Saturdays are probably their busiest days for that reason, so just keep that in mind. They took my insurance, which is EyeMed, and HSA for payment. read more

I have been coming to Bellaire Optometry since 2013...at first I just returned every year because I love their selection of glasses. And as the years passed, I have developed an appreciation for both doctors and their staff. They are all very thorough in explaining my medical benefits and the exam process. The doctors have always patiently answered my questions and always offer multiple options of contact lenses. Their office is super clean and they always are on time with appointments. A few weeks ago I had an emergency. My contact lens had ripped and got stuck in the back of my eye. I panicked and was extremely nervous about the situation and how it would have to be removed. Dr Quan Nguyen is phenomenal. His professional and calming demeanor along with his medical expertise ...he calmed my nerves and as promised he managed to remove the contact lens fairly easily. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Nguyen & Dr Le and their office. read more

Dr Ann and Dr Quan are very nice but the staffs specifically those who order eyeglasses, contact lenses, and frames are beyond rude with an attitude that we, the customers come there to beg for their helps. What kind of customer service is this? What kind of attitude toward customers especially the non-English speaking elderly Vietnameses. These Vietnameses girls who work at this Bellaire Optemetry are mostly the new comers from Vietnam. I had witnessed my mom was furious after she left this place. I have told her to take her business elsewhere to other Vietnamese speaking office to do her eyeglasses. She likes Dr Ann Huyen and Dr Quan but these staffs have to go or must under go retrain seriously before all of your patients will silently LEAVE and never come back. My mother will continue to have her eyes exam by Dr. Quan or Dr. Huyen but No other service from this place. read more

This store moved from Mary Bates/Bellaire to Beltway 8/Bellaire (across from Home Depot). Very professional staffs and the store is super clean! They offer this new thing called OptoMap that allows the doctor to see your eyes clearer but it costs $35. I opted out and did the normal dilation that is covered by my insurance NVA. I wish they would not lock up all of their glasses so I can try it on but I guess it's a good theft prevention. Overall service is great and I will continue to come here for my eye checkups! read more

Best optometry office that I had in Houston. I saw Dr. Quan Nguyen last year and Dr. Phuong Doan this year for annual eye exam. They were both very nice, knowledgable and caring. They listened to my concerns and asked if I have any. What I treasured the most was that they took their time and no rushing during the exam, very thorough. After finishing with the exam, they will seat you at one of the desks for a staff to greet and help you choose your glasses. That same staff will also taking care of your fee and ordering.
