One of the front desk person has just been sneering as I tried my new glasses, but didn't help although I spent over $1,000 there. The glasses hurt my nose and the prescription is off. They forgot to tell me when my contacts arrived and btw, $139 for contact fitting when you've been wearing contacts for over 20 years seems a little high doesn't it? I have nothing against optometrist. However, I had bad experience with Front desk lady who was extremely rude about my son's frame repair. My son had a Ray Ban glasses purchased from them include warranty. He needed the glasses to be repaired due to malfunctioning of temple becoming loose and uneven with normal use. Front desk lady was raising voice to us and blamed my son broke the glasses due to mishandling the glasses. It was not professional way to treat customer this manner. I decided to use vision source telfair due to the yelp high rating. 1) Even when you have an appointment, you will wait beyond the appointment time. 2) Your frames will take quite some time to get. You will have to call for updates 3) I bought my frames less than 1 year ago and keep it in the case when not in use. The frames leg broke when I was speaking at a conference. I was told to purchase these "reliable" frames compared to online websites which are cheap and flimsy. 4) The front desk clerk is not helpful or customer service oriented. We entered, but were not greeted by either of the two people at the front desk. A man came out from the back, we were apparently invisible. Didn't think much of it. Tried several frames, before we were acknowledged. That attention came from a woman that asked if we needed help while still seated at the front desk while we were at the opposite side of the store. Found what we wanted, were told, not asked, to sit down. Employee came to discuss the cost of the frames. I was surprised that the price of the anti-glare was about the same as the frames and was told "well, that is what they cost here." Forgive me for thinking that $400+ frames plus $400+ lenses was out of line for the product I was looking at. I'm went to another store, got good service, same quality frames, and more options without the condescending tone. Not a good experience. We won't return. There are too many eyewear stores in the area to allow for that. read more

I've been coming here for the last several years and can tell you Dr Dang has been one of the best optometrist I've had, his staff is super helpful when it comes to ordering glasses. They took extra time to ensure the frames I liked came in a size suitable for me, most places don't care and will sell you anything to make a sale, but not here, they really care. I read the negative reviews and I've never experience any of the issue these people claim. My glasses have always been ready within the timeline they gave me, they will email and text you when they are ready, no need to keep calling them if the timeline the gave you has not expired, some people are just impatient. Very disappointed in the people at the front desk finishing my order. Order was filled incorrectly and not according to what was discussed which caused me to lose 35% of my insurance allowance for the year. Now my order is only partially filled and on top of that I have to wait another two years for this allowance. Extremely rude and unprofessional staff here- bottom line is they only care about getting your money. On the phone they said they take Medicare, and once there suddenly that wasn't the case. Kept pushing us to just pay $99 instead of going through insurance. My mom had an emergency situation with a burst blood vessel in her eye, but sadly the staff and even the Dr. just treated her in a cold, dismissive way without any advice or help. My eye was having a meltdown so I ended up here at Vision Source. They were able to squeeze me in immediately. I'm so glad they did because it was a medical condition that needed to be treated asap! Dr Mak was extremely patient explaining some concerns pertaining to my eye condition. She immediately made calls to several referrals for me. I appreciated her time and attention. I wanted to take this opportunity to find a local optometrist because my experiences with larger chains (Sams Club, Walmart, Target) were soooo crappy. Our family friend, Dr. Jennifer Nguyen from Eyescript Vision Care in Spring, recommended Vision Source Telfair and I am so pleased with my decision to make the switch. Dr. Dang is laid-back, but also very knowledgable and his attention to detail is a true reflection of the standard that Vision Source places themselves on. I have seen Dr. Dang before for a routine eye exam but my urge to write this review comes from my most recent visit: I stopped in to pick up my order of contacts (which optician, Marcia, helped me get a rebate for!) and asked if there were any openings with Dr. Dang. I felt a stye coming on and wanted to get it checked before it got worse. I was not expecting to get seen since it was so last minute and well past noon on a Saturday. In fact, I was actually expecting that typical, "Are you kidding me?!" cold stare but nothing even came close! They kindly squeezed me in immediately and I am so thankful because my stye was beginning to get really uncomfortable. Their optician, Marcia, is usually my first encounter and she is a wonderful first impression for the office. This is my second visit. Last year was ok, there was no change in my vision. However, this year was completely different. They were forcing us to go for a bifocal lens, which is expensive. Even for my wife, who doesn't need a glass, they were recommending bifocal - don't know for what. Anyway, I settled for a reading glass, but that was way too powerful for my eyes. Went back to them and returned the old one. They gave me another one. The new one is also way too powerful for my eyes.....Don't know what to do next. read more

This place just lost my business and all of those I would have recommended to them bc of their stupid mask policy and how they treat their customers. I had my mask removed while sitting down filing out their paperwork, another customer came in and sat down on the next table about 5-6 feet away from me. One of their staffs asked me to put on my mask bc there is someone sitting next to me (5-6 feet away). I told her I have really bad allergy condition and I can barely breathe with the mask on. She didn't reply but another staff jumped in and told me that I can continue w/o my mask on but need to move to the far corner of the store. What? Seriously? Why didn't they ask the customer who came after and sat next to me to move to the far corner instead? Oh because I didn't bother that customer at all. If these staffs had a little science knowledge at all, they should have known that mask cannot protect us from virus. I have to give them that they were conditioned to follow stupid rules blindly w/o even using their brain and think. Honestly, went here for quite a few years and it was always the same story: I would always have to explain how my vision insurance worked to the staff when trying to pay for my appointment. It was always a process. I understand that when you're a new patient you have to give your information the first time. But every year when I go for my annual checkup, it's the same process of explaining how my insurance works and what my deductible is, then arguing with them about it and ultimately calling my insurance provider to sort it out. Additionally, even though I eventually became a returning patient, they would still require me to fill out new patient paperwork even after I would inform them that my address and all my information was still the same. You're probably wondering why I continued to go here if I continuously had to deal with the same stuff repeatedly, and the answer is because they are 5 minutes from where I Live and there's hardly any wait time when I get there so I valued that. But now I've finally made the decision to drive a little further and go to a different optometrist. read more

My daughter got ortho K treatment and the doctor is patient to listen to our questions and knowledgeable in giving right answers. Even I referred four of my friends for their kids. Sad part is, there is no process of tracking the dispatch. As per the treatment plan and package selected, my daughter is supposed to get 2 pairs of lenses out of which one was given in feb. After that I followed up couple of times on the second pair and got a response that those are yet to come and will give me a call once they are ready. Accidentally last week my daughter dropped the lenses and they broke. When I called the office to inquire about my second pair and also to order one more set, to my surprise i got a reply from them saying the second pair is already delivered to me in March which we never got it. When the same thing was questioned they offered a 50% off for my replacement pair. Also the person who we spoke is not even bothered to understand my explanation and concern where I have all the records of incoming and outgoing calls and we never received a call to pick up the second pair. Also to my surprise, he suggested me to look for another doctor for my daughter which made us feel very bad. Maybe it's each individuals experience with these kind of situations, but would still like to make everyone aware of this to be cautious. read more

We have been going to vision source telfair for few years now. Last year they had a front desk lady which did not like that my daughter was trying alot of frames for her glasses and was very expressive through her expressions and her tone of voice that she is not liking it, after that I stopped going there for my eye exam but continued for my daughter's exam as she was comfortable with the doctor. This year we went for her contact lenses exam as because it was her first time trying them I had a lot of questions. The girl at the front desk rudely stopped me from asking questions and said "ma'am let me do my work and then will answer your questions". Then when she couldn't answer she said to ask the doctor and surprisingly when I asked Dr. (guy) instead of answering me he said I have been doing this for a long time so I know which contact lenses to order and I am thinking what kind of rude answer is that, if an anxious mother will not ask questions to the doctor then who should we ask. He wanted my daughter to try the daily contact lenses which we agreed on after few days and guess what he just gave us the contact lenses for right eye only and said that he is out for left eye contact lenses and because her number are so less in left eye she will be ok not wearing in one eye. She is 5th grade so imagine a student in school without having proper vision. Then we have to drop my daughter's frames to get her glasses fix and the girl at the front desk is telling me that the doctor is out of town and he will be coming in tomorrow so I asked what it has to do with the doctor being in the office and she said in a very rude manner "what do you mean"? I said you have her glasses, right? she replied in a very rude manner that yes we have and explained me the whole process but still my question remained unanswered. Bottom line after these all encounters we are not going back to them as the doctor and the staff has been very undisciplined and ill-mannered. I wish i can give them no stars, very disappointed with the doctor and their entire staff. read more

Great experience! They were able to fit me in the same day on Saturday. Everyone was very nice it almost looks like a family business. Very modern and up-to-date office with the latest technology. The only downfall was that they really try to push for extra fees for more expensive procedures that your insurance usually doesn't cover. I have finally found my permanent eye doctor after going through some other ones the last 2 years in search of a replacement optometrist when my original eye dr of 27 yrs passed away. Shout out and RIP to Dr Keith Frederick, he was the best optometrist there was. Anyways I felt like I wasn't having any luck trying to find a new optometrist. Seems nowadays it is a lot more expensive anywhere you go, but I wasn't feeling good about the services from some of the places despite good reviews. Finally I decided to try Dr Mak here at Vision Source and I left feeling really good about my visit. She really stood out in that I felt like she was thorough with my screening and examination. The office also seems to have the latest technology, and because I have diabetes I usually need a more thorough retina screening. They took kind of an xray photo of my eyeballs, and Dr Mak was very patient and thorough going through the health of my eyes with me right there. I loved that she did it as I had never gotten that type of attention from others. Usually I get that everything is ok and get sent my way. She even could tell from the screening that I had floaters before I confirmed it. Because of the detail attention I left feeling really good about my visit. While I thought it was still expensive considering I still had to pay for the additional optional retina screening beyond the basic examination coverage allowed by insurance, Dr Mak has proven her competent services worthy.
