Disclaimer: this is a retroactive post, so be considerate of the unreliability of memory. I've been here a couple of times with family, and I've left satisfied and uncomfortably full each time! For big parties, they have a private room that also doubles as a karaoke room (we never tried the karaoke, though). Otherwise, the tables in the main dining area are also large and spacious (can seat up to 10, I believe). There is a huge parking lot outside that is shared with all the stores on the strip. There's also a coast nearby to do some post-meal strolling. I've only gone for the lunch buffet and they are usually not that busy and service is quick. Last time I went was March 2021: Lunch AYCE is about $20-23/person (it has gone up these couple of years, it is currently $23.99). This price also includes unlimited Asian drinks (ie, chrysanthemum tea, herbal jelly, Wang Lao Ji, etc.). There is no sauce station, but each table has a caddy with three different sauces for you to mix. In terms of food quality, the meat is pretty solid and veggies are fresh. The meat selection is a little less wide than other AYCE places, but they have the staple selections. They also have a wide variety yummy appetizers (ie, crab rangoon, potstickers), but I usually don't order too many of these (save room for the meats!!). The soup bases are also very yummy. You get to choose two per pot, and my favorite is the tomato broth. Tomato bases are hard to get right, and they did make it too watery once. The last time I dined here though, the tomato soup base was very savory, thick, and tangy. Overall, this is a great place to bring a large party to for lunch. This happens to be a very popular place in Pacifica. You wouldn't think people would come for hot pot here but they always have a decent crowd and on weekends, they have to bring out more booths to accommodate the extra crowds. These people can slap together a booth in under 3 minutes so the wait is never long for seating! There's also a good mix of patrons -- from first timers to hotpot hoppers, even straight up Cantonese speakers and I can attest that this place is legit! First impressions of the menu is simply WOW! A great amount of selection for a really good price of $18.99 per adult, any day of the week. We checked off a bunch of things on the menu and everything tasted like the real deal, without needing to drown it in sauce. Most impressive was surprisingly their fried spring rolls -- I know I should lose my Asian card for saying this!! But seriously, I asked for 3 orders of this and crab Rangoon! Omg what kind of Asian am I... I also highly recommend their XLBs which is code for steamed Shanghai dumplings -- aka soup dumplings that's all the rage now in the city. Even Trader Joe's jumped on this band wagon with their own frozen ones. Since this was our first time here, we went with the classic soup base of halt&half (original + spicy) but they have a really large selection of soup bases. There's so much flavor in this soup base so I didn't need to create any dipping sauces of my own. You can definitely smell the flavor as soon as they bring out the piping hot soup base that you'll be cooking from. Their price also includes free drinks so be sure to try something new! Even though it was typical Pacifica weather, outdoor seating was pleasant. Service is pretty fast but they only have 2 waitresses handling any given amount of diners so if you come during peak hours, you'll have to do more flagging and reminding. A couple of negatives I noticed was that you really need to double check what you order. Some things they just don't carry for that day so even though you checked it off on the menu, they won't tell you that they don't have it -- they just won't ever bring it to you. With all the dishes that were crowding out table, I just didn't notice until I got home to post this review. Another thing I didn't double check was pricing for kiddo who is only 10 but we were charged for 3 adults. These are 2 big negatives. Lastly, be sure to try some ice cream as your dessert. They were all out of mango pudding and didn't bother to tell me until I asked for it. Overall I can see why this is so popular in Pacifica -- a fairly new concept for a tired looking old town local square. I came here last night with some friends from work. We booked one of the bigger rooms enough for 14 people. This is actually my second time back here, first time I came here was last winter and wasn't super impressed with the service. This time was a bit better. Since we had a party of 14, they gave us the first room with two tables, karaoke and a mahjong table. It was definitely spacious enough for a big party. I do have to echo what some others have said about the layout of the room though. It is a pretty odd layout, with four stoves and a huge table you really have to reach for things. The food came out fair quickly and everything seemed pretty fresh. The server seemed to grow more of an attitude as the night went on. Funny enough, he was the same serve we had last winter & he definitely expressed that he didn't want to serve us last time. Another lady came and brought in the food we ordered but was very quick to make a comment about wasting food... it was only our second round and we were all still eating. Service aside, some of my favorite were the crab Rangoon, the honey glazed prawns, and couples delight. For the soup base we chose the house original and the white pepper chi & pork stomach (my personal fave!) The pork stomach was perfectly cooked and the soup was really good. Definitely would order again. I couldn't really remember the taste of the house original so probably would choose a different base next time. Made a reservation for a karaoke room on a Friday night a few days before. They have a lot of options for all you can eat ranging from beef, lamb, pork, seafood, vegetables, to a good amount of cooked options. The quality of the food isn't mind-blowing, but it's decent. There are drinks that you can just get from their fridge, or if you want alcohol you can just order. They have a paper sheet that you hand to them with whatever you want to order. Although it says a 90 minute limit to order food, I'm not sure that they were actually timing us. Karaoke rooms were hot. They have an AC, but it doesn't go down low enough. We ended up keeping the door open. The karaoke tablet is in Chinese, but there are English songs. They have a good selection of songs. The layout of the table is a bit awkward. There were four stoves, but it takes a bit of effort to reach toward the pots if you're sitting in the corner. The tables are huge so you have to really reach for things in the center of the table. If you want an extra experience (karaoke) while eating hotpot, this is a good option. read more

We had a party of 6 for a late dinner around 8pm. I called in to see if I could make a reservation and they said just come in, there shouldn't be a wait.. When we got there, we had to wait around 15-20 minutes for a table. It was pretty packed in there. We had the house original, house spicy, spicy miso, and chinese herb broths. For 6 people, we had two pots split into two different broths. The chinese herb chicken broth tasted very similar to the house special. The spicy miso was pretty spicy, but the house spicy was pretty unbearable for all of us. It was wayy too spicy. The meats were pretty good, we tried the wagyu and supreme beef. We were only able to order the wagyu once though :( The shell scallop was also very good and you can eat it raw! It is also one per person though :( Another item that stood out to us was the honey prawns! (they did not include any walnuts) This dish is usually pretty pricey at chinese restaurants, so we were surprised to find this item on the menu AND it was good. I also really enjoyed the scoop it yourself ice cream! There were fruity/sorbet flavors - mango/lychee which I thought was pretty good, especially for a ayce place. We also really enjoyed the aycd drinks - they had a lot of variety from sodas, to yogurts, to chrysanthemum, to hawaiian sun juice and also their sapporo beer. We also had a pitcher of sake. The large size is huge! We did not expect the huge size of sake. However, the sake is pretty watered down. Overall, we had a pretty good meal. The service is not the greatest, however and the sauce bar was a little unsanitary/messy looking. One of my favorite hot pot spots in NorCal this place is also one of my favorite late night eats spots also. Located in pacifica there's plenty of parking unlike SF. It is fairly popular so there can be long lines during the weekend and at prime dinner time (5-7pm) so be aware. In terms of the food their selection is solid. Meat quality is better then most as well as their ingredient options. The hotpot they have here is the more traditional shared large pot, so if your looking for the individual look else where. They have a fairly diy service model here: you order you meat, soup, and ingredients but get you own water/drinks, sauces, and dessert. The meat and ingredients are fresh and they usually give a generous portion, fyi it is all you can eat here but be mindful not to waste food. Depending on how busy it is service can be hit or miss but for an Asian spot I'd say it's better then most. It's a popular spot so it gets loud here, they have private rooms for hotpot and karaoke and usually on the weekends it's banging . Last thing to know they have a late night happy hour hot pot special deal for $25 from 9pm till they close compared to the usual $35-40 rate. FYI while the happy hour rate is an excellent value it is a more limited menu in terms of what you can order but I think it's still well worth it. Also cause of the happy hour special they do get busy after 9pm. Overall this place in one of my favorite all you can eat hot pot places in NorCal. read more

It's reasonably priced, $27.99 for AYCE, which includes drinks (even alcoholic drinks such as Sapporo, Cabernet, Chardonnay, and Sake). This was our first time dining here and I had some expectations as my bro. and sis in-law said it was their new favorite spot. Having eaten hot pot all my life and trying different hot pot spots, I think I've been spoiled. Two things I'm particular on is broth and dipping sauces - even if the soup base is good, I still like the option to have a good dipping sauce to pair with shrimp paste, meats, etc. Drinks, ice cream, and sauces are self-serve. I love that you can create your own sauce. Some of the items at the sauce bar include satay, sesame oil, house made chili sauce, Sriracha, peanut sauce, spicy chili oil, minced ginger, etc. Minced garlic seems to be a staple at many hot pot places so I was disappointed it wasn't offered here. The menu is two pages and covers a variety of meats, seafood, special items (e.g. honey glazed prawns), snacks, and desserts. However, it also seems to be missing some staples like spinach and shiitake mushrooms. For the broth, we ordered spicy miso and house satay. I do have to agree with my bro that the broth was flavorful even after the waiters refilled it with water/regular broth as time went on. Quality wise, everything was fresh! However, I'd steer clear of the ice cream as it tasted gummy and like freezer burn. Service was good as the waiters were attentive. As soon as they saw an empty plate, they promptly removed it from our table. Meat selection is also pretty good with the works of sliced beef, lamb, etc. I was super surprised how good the cold sliced beef in chili oil and honey walnut shrimp (sans walnuts but whatever) was to order! Shrimp for hotpot was also good quality and came with the option of being peeled (less work for me though they also have head on if you enjoy that ^.^). We were a table of 3, and we shared one big pot with 2 divisions, so we were allowed 2 soup bases. Place seemed like a family restaurant, really cozy. Only drawbacks was that it cost more to replace/change the soup base, and enoki mushrooms among other ingredients cost the full dinner price. The dinner price is SO WORTH IT, since there's a special section of the menu that includes sashimi, dimsum, cooked foods (WALNUT SHRIMP WAS WOW), and special hot pot items. Food was ok. But eating here is not comfortable. They leave the front doors open to help with steam ventilation. Which makes eating here very cold on a winters night. Asked the waiter if we can move to a table further inside the restaurant. He refused. But 5 minutes later a family also complained about the cold and he reseated them. We only go there at my friend's high recommendation and praises about this place. The pictures on yelp seems good but this is a good from far and far from good situation! Their salivating chicken taste awful, it's just hot sauce over Mojave dessert chicken. Jellyfish is super salty. Meat quality is poor and scarce. We ordered 2 soup base pepper pork stomach and tomato. The pepper pork stomach has chicken, taste average. The tomato base soup is disgusting, taste like sweet and sour sauce. They do have plenty of sauces and condiments for dipping, steam rice and rice porridge is also available. Since we are slow eaters we can only go 2 rounds. The other problem is quantity of item is at discretion, we ordered raw eggs for 4, got 1. Wontons and dumpling 2 small pieces each. The worst part of the dinning experience is we ordered our food within 90 mins limit and wanted to get hot tea refill and my son wanted 1 more drink before dinner ends. We were told we exceed 90mins . Which is fine but to be fair, it's for a kid and how much is soda in bulk cost ? First time and what a nice surprise. This is a 2 for 1 place, hot pot and karaoke. We all enjoyed the lunch menu @ $24. If you go for dinner, plan on $34. AYCE, means you can choose amongst a variety of options that include meat and vegetables and everything in between. There are also different soup stock options as each hot pot can accommodate up to 2 different soups. Drinks (non alcoholic) are also included and there is a wide selection from the refrigerator. Amongst our group, we drank enough free drinks to cover one persons meal. For lunch, dessert is a AYCE scoop(s) of your own ice cream that includes mango, red bean, green tea, and sesame flavors. All flavors were tasty. Every item tasted and appeared fresh, vegetables were a solid green and firm in texture. Meat portions were plentiful and a few orders can easily fill you up. Other proteins include tofu, mussels and clams. You can also add in different noodle types. Lastly, there is a make your own dipping sauce station. The broths were so salty i ended up not using my sauce. Got all sort of ingredients including the watercress, pea shoots, enoki mushrooms, woodear mushroom, tiger prawn, imitation crab, taro root, wintermelon, fresh ramen noodles, scallop in the shell and sashimi etc. Those last two were intended to be served as sashimi. Grand HotPot is exactly what it is: Grand!! We came here during dinner time, with our group of 18 people. We opted out for the karaoke room, which was huge!! Coming here on a Saturday night, it was pretty busy so service was slow. Thankfully, there's a call button against the door so they're able to attend to your needs when you press on the button. With the menu, it's really easy since all you do is just put a check mark on what you want. The staff there will adjust and give you the right amount based on how many people you have. At the same time, it's really annoying since I prefer to put numbers instead. They bring whatever you ordered to all of to the rest of the tables. For example, one table ordered lotus root while the second table did not. In my case.. someone from the other table ordered all the different kinds of meatballs. We were definitely charged for it :( Including that, this sort of method causes food waste very easily. Quality wise, the food was great. I enjoyed everything! Vegetables were fresher and washed as well. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was tasty and I recommend that even though they specialize in hotpot. I was iffy about their sashimi and raw scallop but it tasted fine. But if you have any doubt, I wouldn't risk it. With their broth, we got their Half and Half. I couldn't really taste anything from their Spicy broth l. All I tasted was death since it was REALLY REALLY spicy. With their Original broth, it was tasty. Not too strong and not too weak. First time coming to place. I booked a VIP karaoke room for 6 people. No deposit required. I just made a reservation a couple of days in advance. They gave us three hours, but we stayed almost 4 hours and we were only charged the normal price. The food was amazing so many options. The appetizers are included in the price. Mango soju was so good! The service was slow after they delivered our food. I had to give them my order by walking to server station. The karaoke songs are limited for English. It was fun because we were in the back in our private area so it did not feel like we were in a restaurant. I would definitely recommend for the price! The ambience was ok. I attended a small reception that was held in one of the Karaoke rooms. We were a party of 10, and we were spread across two large tables. Each table had 4 boils, but only 2 were activated. It was totally sufficient for us since we could split the pots into two broths. The food was great and all you can eat. They had a nice variety of hot pot items including premium meat cuts. We were able to order off the a la carte dinner menu as well, which included honey walnut prawns, tempura, XLB, etc. I thought that the whole karaoke + hot pot experience was the most ingenious way of hosting a party! I had a blast and was highly entertained while eating my food. Probably also helped that the soju was flowing. Although we found it a bit challenging to navigate the karaoke system, we managed to find some top 40 hip hop and pop songs in English. Lastly, service was OK.
