Hallway of darkness and fear...must be Halloween...

My family and I came here for lunch and we had about a 15 minute wait before we were called in to be seated. There was a lot of people already dining, and the place was actually small - not a lot of seats available, so there was a bit of squeezing in...and hence, the wait time. Fortunately, there were seats outside where you can occupy until you were called in. The place made use of QR codes. Don't expect the staff to come by you to take your orders. But the system is pretty much efficient. You place your order in and it comes out in a few minutes...piping hot and very tasty! The presentation of my ramen was well done...they took the time to set out the ingredients in the bowl and probably finished it off with the soup. We were on a tight schedule for this day, so we made well and fast with consuming the food and were on our way! The price was very reasonable. For the amount of food you get, the price was actually very affordable. If you're in the area, you just have to try out this place!

Stopped by on a Friday night and waited about 15 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad. Parking was super easy since it's in a large plaza. The restaurant has a casual, cozy ramen shop vibe, though it's a bit on the smaller side so it can feel a little tight when it gets busy. Service was friendly and efficient overall. I ordered the deluxe ramen since it seemed like the most bang for your buck, and it comes with a good variety of toppings and a flavorful broth. The ramen was okay, not bad at all, just not the most memorable bowl I've had. Overall, it's a solid option if you're in the area and craving ramen.

Hits the spot on a rainy day Better option and availability than the marufuku nearby Great lunch specials!

One of the best Ramen spots in Daly City. The house ramen + corn is amazing with the spice on the side. Bbq pork fried rice & curry chicken katsu, my favorite. Service is quick and efficient. Ambiance is more of an eat and go vibe, with quality food.

For the price, I don't mind this place, I think they are very affordable. It's kind of an eat and go place, the service is really fast and you can order yourself on your phone. It's dark in there definitely it could be good for like lunch and it's pretty small. The broth was good on my Ramen however it only had one tiny piece of meat. It was really just mainly noodles. I got the house special. The shrimp tempura I think was better than the Ramen, the breading was nice.

Service is great here! We ordered, kaki fry, house ramen and spicy fish ramen. Definitely hit the spot after a target run! Would note, love the lunch specials here as well!!

This is a hidden gem next to Target! The ramen is nice and soft, miso broth is a good taste. Service was okay as well. Although we came in a Friday night which was busy and poppin' the ambiance was nice and chill. We love coming here after a target run for some warm soup and noodles! If I wasn't feeling ramen I would get the curry katsu and rice plate. When I do go for the ramen, I like the house ramen with extra meat and corn. Potato coquette is tasty for an appetizer. Will come again and try their Don buri rice bowl. The menu is simple and straightforward.

Slightly pricy, but the deluxe ramen does contain quite a few things, so let's see how it tastes

Finally a ramen spot thar actually has spicy broth! I got the spicy black garlic ramen but with extra spicy paste. We got the food really quickly, probably waited 15 minutes at most. The noodles were springy and cooked perfectly and the broth warmed me up! The space is a little small, and there's no reservations so I would make sure to come early. There is a waitlist but you have to go and put your name down on a notepad fyi :)

Momiji is so delicious I came twice in one week. I ordered the beef ramen and the black garlic ramen. The noodles are very QQ and the meat here is perfectly tenderized, it's incredibly melt-in-your-mouth! The black garlic ramen was also actually spicy and flavorful- a pleasant surprise, since Japanese food doesn't particularly excel in spice compared to its Korean and Chinese counterparts! The tonkatsu broth is so hearty and not too salty either. So perfect for warming yourself up after a cold winter day, which can be particularly common in the Northern Peninsula! Overall everything in my dish was fantastic, but I'm a big broth and meat quality girl and Momiji standing out in both of those areas was extra brownie points in my book.

went on a thursday around 6pm and there were 2 open tables for my party of 2. i thought this was busy already but more people kept coming and were seated outside ws the evening went on. we were seated promptly by one of the servers going to serve another table. the seating inside is a bit cramped, especially along the window. the sushi bar keeps you from seeing the rest of the room and feels tight; the booths along the side wall looked close to each other too. no server walked us to the table or came to explain the ordering system/welcome us; this didn't bother me (at first, as i was not in a social mood) but i became more unhappy with the service as the evening went on. our server was mumbling and avoided eye contact when bringing the food out. it was dishearteneing other tables get checked in on when we didn't, and it took actively asking for the check to get it, even when we had been sitting with near empty bowls and on our phones for 5-10 minutes. the wait time for our ramens took longer than i thought (the place is small, and looked like most people had food out already) i think a whistle signifies to the staff that an order is ready, but it got annoying as the evening went on. the black garlic ramen was a 6/10. the broth has a strong garlic flavor while being somewhat smoky. the pork is thicker than most places (a plus!), and sweeter (not my favorite marinade, as i feel it overpowers the rest of the bowl). noodles have more of a chew, which i enjoy. the boiled egg also leaned on the sweeter side, but the yolk was nice and jammy. i liked that the broth isn't too salty, but overall the flavors were fine. i did like the spinach instead of seaweed, since it was easier to chew through and how they didn't skimp on the meat. however with marufuku open at serramonte, i think it would be more worth the time and money to go there for better service AND a better ramen flavor profile.

There was a place I had in mind, but the moment I saw the word " ramen" sign, my instant craving was suddenly ramen over anything else. So, listening to the stomach, I walked in. The staff came to us and fortunately, despite most of the seats were filled with customers we got a seat. I already had a menu in mind and browsed through the ramen menu to decide on the tonkotsu ramen, my family members reviewed the menu to also narrow down their choices. We ordered three items in total: ramen, a curry dish with tonkatsu and additional spice level to spicy, and a lunch bento box as option F (if I recall). For the bento it comes with the miso soup, so this arrives first over all of the dishes. Then, in short time differences, the curry arrived first, the ramen next, and then the bento set. The ramen was pretty much exactly what I wanted but catered to my tastes in a way. At most restaurants, the tonkotsu ramen is served with thin noodles. This is actually not my favorite type of ramen noodles; I prefer thicker ones. The ramen here, it was served with thick noodles, so that brought a joy to my face. The broth was mellow and not too rich. I also loved the crispy textures of the bean sprouts balanced well with the chewy noodles. The bento box had a wonderful array of fillings that pleased my relative. They ordered the one with sashimi and beef. I got a chance to try some of the beef and it was very tender and well seasoned. It went great with the rice. The tempura also arrived piping hot and the crunchy shell still crispy as they took a bite. They were pretty full near the end of the meal. My other relative enjoyed the curry too. They have a stronger spice tolerance, so they ordered it with extra spice: the spice version. Turns out this was pretty spicy. The spice was spicy in a good way; I took a bite, and the spicy kick doesn't hit me until after I swallowed it down. They told me that next time they will still add spice but a level lower than the one they ordered. I also got to try their tonkatsu; also nice and crispy! The pork was juicy and tender too. It went super well with the curry. As an ending note, my family and I were in good spirits when the staff served us hot tea instead of water, especially during the winter season. It was a a very thoughtful gesture that made the food experience pleasant.

However, when I inquired, the staff said that it would only be noodles and broth. I ordered a sushi roll instead. The roll came pretty quickly. I was disappointed with the size of the roll but at least the fish tasted fresh. The wasabi was disappointing because it was not spicy at all. Since it was after lunch, the restaurant was not very busy. The staff was quick to refill my tea several times and to bring me the check. Overall, I was glad that I tried this restaurant, not sure I would need to come back again.

The first time I went without a reservation, I was turned away immediately, so this time I made a reservation in advance. The food selection is actually quite diverse. Although the portions are not large, the quality is pretty good. I especially liked the wide variety of sushi options, and if you finish fifteen plates, you get a cute capsule toy prize. I ordered the basic ramen and sushi , and both were quite good. I would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. The service was good as well. The only downside is that you really need a reservation, otherwise there will basically be no seats available.

Unfortunately, our experience here is enough to deter us from coming back. The fish on the conveyor belt was, at first glance, normal, but when it got to our plates we noticed the textures and flavors were off, indicating the fish was not fresh whatsoever. The staff helping us that day were unsure of what they were serving if we would ask them for clarification on the dishes we were curious on. I ordered hamachi, one of my favorites, and there were still scales on my pieces. I decided to not mention it, as I still had more to order. I also picked up a plate of the salmon belly with monkfish liver on top. The fish was the texture of leather - extremely tough, flavorless, and overall not pleasing. I also picked up a roll with salmon and lemon on top with avocado and roe inside. The lemon sitting on the salmon had been sitting there for quite some time because the lemon was cooking the salmon, leaving a white mark behind. The avocado was so overripe that it was brown and mushy. My friends grabbed some salmon, and noted that the texture was extremely watery. The unagi was also extremely rubbery. We asked to split the check, which they said they could not do. We asked if the salmon belly could maybe be substituted or removed, telling our server that it was not fresh. They just said, "No, we don't do that here," with no explanation. We just wished we had a little more explanation, that's all. (Note: I felt really bad asking this, because normally I just suck it up if I don't like something. If I am dining with someone who asks to remove an item from a bill, the restaurant understands. This did not happen here.) If you decide to go, order directly from the tablet by the table, because the sushi might have a chance of being somewhat fresher. Overall, it just was not a pleasant experience for the extremely steep price. I haven't paid that much for sushi, especially not for sushi that is fresh.

You can order hot tofu soup, K-style fried chicken wings along with their barley tea. KUKJE SUPER MARKET was a staple while living in SF and continues to be staple in Daly City. See you there!
