MR's space is a mutely lit oblong space that opens from outside the plaza to inside the plaza. In for a quick lunch, greeted immediately and seated right away. Served hot tea that was bit bland and a small complimentary dish of house pickled veggies. I was here try their OKONOMIYAKI and also their BLACK GARLIC RAMEN. Both dishes arrived piping hot. OKONOMIYAKI, Seafood & Veggies, is a savory Osaka Japanese-style seafood pancake, topped with Kewpie Doll mayo, Okonomiyaki sauce and bonito flakes. This could be a meal in its own with its serving portion. The pancake was chock full of fish, squid or tako, shrimp and bits of cabbage, garnished w/dancing bonito flakes. Flavors were there but the Okonomiyaki seemed a bit flat for me. But it's a favorite to have with friends over beers. You can also amp the Okonomiyaki topped with stir fried noodles and an egg, Modern-Yaki. Came here on a Sunday for lunch. Was seated right away. Place was half full of patrons enjoying their food. Servers were nice and courteous. Place was clean but bathrooms were outside of the restaurant in the mall. Ramen was served hot and the broth was tasty. Don't recall the names of the ramen bowls that we ordered. I haven't dined inside the shop just ordered take outs, and it was really good! I got the chef special yaki (traditional one), thick, sweet and savory it's lovely. The agedashi tofu is my fav item of all time so have to get that and it's very good, also love the stewed pork belly, hmmm cooked to perfection. We met a friend for lunch here on Sunday. Tons of choices on their menu: salads, ramen, udon, yakisoba, okonomiyaki, sashimi, bento boxes, curry, some sushi, tempura...etc. Dining area was fairly spacious and brightly lit. It seems they can accommodate large families of 6 without a problem. I ordered the black garlic ramen, BF ordered a bento box with beef teriyaki and 3 pc sashimi and our friend had a bento box with beef teriyaki and mackerel. Black garlic ramen - this was decent but not perfect. The egg was a bit overcooked so no jammy middle. Noodle texture was ok, but I prefer a chewier texture when noodles are blanched. This was slightly overcooked where noodles are soft. They do give a lot of toppings like bamboo shoots, black fungus, a few roasted garlic cloves and 2-3 pieces of pork. Black garlic flavor was good. The pork was pretty good too. If the noodles were chewier and with good texture, I would have rated it higher because the main star of this dish is the ramen. 3.5/5 Bento boxes - beef was more cooked than they would have liked. Sashimi sliced so thin. 3 slices which could have been 1 piece at another restaurant. Mackerel was ok. 3/5 The restaurant was bustling even after 2 pm. I think it's because they have a lot of choices on their menu that it can appease even picky eaters. Though we felt a few things were overcooked or they skimped. Sometimes when restaurants have an extensive menu, they lack focus and they don't perfect each dish. So it ends up there's a variety on the menu but mediocre results. I came here the other day on my lunch before I did my grocery shopping at Ranch 99. I've always noticed this place when I walked by, but was a bit hesitant because I never see this place packed with patrons. However, I went ahead and gave this place a go because I was craving some tempura and teriyaki beef. I ordered their two item Bento box and it came with a free item and I chose the potato croquette. Two item bento is $18.95 + $2 more for the beef. Upon seating, you are given water or tea and then a small bowl of pickled cabbage and carrots. I really enjoyed the sweetness and the tangy taste of rice vinegar. The croquette was fried to a golden brown, Tempura had a light batter that wasn't too heavy. Beef was tender and not over cooked. The servers were very attentive and topped off my tea often. I would recommend this place if you are ever in the area! read more

They share the parking lot with 99 Ranch Supermaket, Sheng Kee Bakery, East West Bank, Truedan, Doughnut shop, Liquor store, Dim Sum King, Porridge King, and some other businesses. There's plenty of parking on weekdays. However, it's a challenge to find parking on weekends. I called in and ordered three ramen to go. I ordered the chicken, seafood, and black garlic ramen. They were ready in 20 minutes. The chicken ramen was the least favor out of the three ramen that I ordered. The chicken was overcooked. It was rubbery and hard to chew. The broth was kind of salty. The seafood ramen was ok. They gave a good amount of seafood and the broth was bland. The black garlic ramen was the most flavorful ramen. It was very garlicky and can also taste the sasame oil. I definitely had better ramen elsewhere. However, I do appreciate them packing the three ramen carefully. We had 3 ramens, 1 katsu rice plate, and a chicken karaage app. The door dasher told us he was still waiting for our food and the wait time just kept getting pushed back. No explanation was given to our dasher other than "10 mins" and then another "10 mins", and it ended up being 40-50 mins later than the original time. EVER SINGLE ITEM was luke warm. How?? There was a wait at Kevin's so we decided to give Majikku a try. It was an extremely disappointing meal. To our surprise, there was a good amount of people inside the restaurant. The A board outside with the bento box menu sounded really good. Ultimately, I still wanted soup and since this place was called Majikku Ramen, I decided to go with ramen DINNER Shoyu ramen- I have neutral feelings towards the ramen. I liked the chew and texture of the noodles but did not care much for the broth and toppings. My ramen egg was cooked all the way through. Not sure if that was intentional, but I like having soft orange yolk in my ramen egg. Chicken katsu bento box- very disappointing! It came with tempura which included one very small shrimp, California rolls that were heavy on the mayo, and a decent but dry katsu. We got the potstickers that came for free and those were fine Salmon skin roll- I always order a salmon skin roll if it's on the menu and this was the worst one I have ever had. It was extremely salty and the fish it came with was ~very~ chewy I really wanted to like this place and I really wanted to try the pancake, but the food quality and very slow service leaves me with no desire to come back. Eyeing Majikku Ramen for a few years now, I finally tried this place out with my friend, Gil, for dinner on Monday, July 25, 2022. Located in the Skyline Plaza of Daly City, this small eatery (maximum capacity is probably between 50 and 65 persons) is conveniently located with neighbours such as the 99 Ranch Market (asian grocery store), Truedan (boba shop), PUNJ LIQUOR, etc. Finding parking is also not a problem in the lot. Gil and I were craving ramen, but, unfortunately, both of us were very disappointed by our bowls of the Japaense soups. After my first few tastes, I commented on the dissatisfying broth taste and Gil's exact words were, "Yeah, it's not very good." We were very surprised by our disappointment since we assumed, due to the restaurant's name, that they specialize in ramen. Really, it must have been the worst tasting bowl of ramen that I ever had. Thankfully, though, we ordered other dishes, so we didn't leave hungry. For Appetizers, we had Gyoza and Age- Dashi Tofu, both of which were cooked with slightly crispy outer skins and tender and moist interiors. The Spider Roll was also nice, but came in only five pieces - don't they usually come in six pieces? I enjoyed the Ebi Curry Rice - the five pieces of deep fried prawns had the perfect crunch, but inside the breading seemed more like long skinny shrimp instead of prawns. I would have preferred a little more curry sauce, too. Service was very friendly, attentive, and nice. In short, Majikku Ramen is not the place to find a winner of a bowl of ramen - they fall very short in serving up a decent tasting bowl of their spotlight dish, unfortunately. I've been feeling low energy, congested, and just "blah" lately, and the one thing that always kicks me out of it is a good noodle soup! To start: I ordered the Gyoza, which did not disappoint! I'm a sucker for a good pan fried wrapper, and the pork with green onion inside was divine. The gyoza dipping sauce was perfectly tangy, salty, and left just the right amount of umami flavor on your tongue to leave you lusty for your entree. Main Dish: Garlic Kimchee Ramen (added extra broth and ramen). The flavor of the broth is quite the interesting combination. It literally leaves this taste in your mouth of the absolute best fermented veggies paired with savory meat, and the slightest starch from the noodles.... Not a whole lot of heat, per say, but that in itself is easily remedied by some chili flakes (or my personal favorite, sriracha!) To my utter disappointment: I discovered a fairly large, and quite sharp, piece of plastic within my ramen....... I found it in my mouth by the third hefty helping of noodle laden chopsticks. I was so sad that after spitting it out I stared at it on the counter for a good 10 minutes asking myself "Dare I eat the rest...?" "What else will I find if I continue this meal..?" In the effort of safety, I had to relinquish my Ramen to the mercy of the garbage disposal. R.I.P. Majikku Ramen, I don't believe I'll be ordering from you again. read more

I've ordered this place twice on DoorDash during SIP. Their chicken katsu curry is pretty decent. They give you a huge portion of rice, chicken katsu and curry. The curry has plenty of potatoes and carrots in it. The curry sauce is a little on the sweeter side, and not as rich and flavorful as other Japanese curry spots. The last time I had chicken katsu, the chicken tasted super rubbery. It had a good crunch but the rubbery taste was a bit weird to me. The potatoes were a little bit too soft for my liking, but the carrots were cooked perfectly! Overall, this is a decent spot for chicken katsu curry. read more

Majikku Ramen isn't my favorite place to visit; however, still one of the decent places to have lunch. Located at the opposite side of Ranch 99 Market, Majikku has at least one thing in common, ramen. While my mom, my brother, and I were seated, our waiter handed us cups of sencha and one small dish of pickled vegetables, and also our menu. I would want to have a Japanese Curry Beef straight from the menu, until my mom pointed out what was the bottom of the menu. And indeed, it's vegetarian! I quickly chose the vegetarian ramen bowl just so I feel comfortable having a bowl. The Chicken Karaage my brother ordered was crispy delicious for its batter fried perfection. While my mom had Beef Yakisoba and my brother had Tonketsu Don Ramen, my one true focus was my Inari-Wakame Ramen bowl. Everything in my bowl was well organized: three tofu sheets, some bamboo shoots, wakame, and one seaweed sheet leaning inside the bowl. With ramen on the bottom, everything looked and taste clean as I like it. A couple of things that I find interesting in my noodle soup bowl. Bamboo shoots, they're savory and have a delicate crunchiness. Tofu sheets, they're sweet. They remind me of tofu pockets that holds the vinegared rice. Since everything taste good, I had to finish the whole bowl. I had no single word about the customer service nor the atmosphere around us. I like the background Japanese songs by the way. I'm sorry, but I'm a bit disappointed on the quality of their ramen noodles here. For a place with a fancy name, I thought it was very creative of them, but the quality is sub par. My noodles was hard, the egg was overcooked, and the bamboo shoots was tough to chew on. The pork slices was fine, but a bit on the stingy side. The broth was lacking flavor... And I think the quality just needs to improve to make it more authentic. My Passion Fruit Green Tea was too watered down. I should've just stayed with my free hot green tea. Oh well. The service was pretty much non-existent. No greeting at the entrance as there was a sign that reads "wait to be seated". We waited alright... But had to seat ourselves, which was fine. The waitress took our orders and only came back once to fill our tea cups after serving our food. This place definitely needs to improve on everything. I went here for an early dinner with two of my homies after helping them shop for a suit and tie. I got the katsu don, my friend got the tonkotsu ramen, and my other friend got the katsu curry rice. I've never tried or even seen what a katsu don was so I had no idea what to expect. When my food arrived, it didn't look too appetizing. It felt like I was eating a bowl of mush, but at least the flavor was ok. My friend who got the katsu curry rice let me try his food. It was really good and curry wasn't too spicy. I also sampled a bit of my other friend's food and his ramen was good too. The meat wasn't over cooked and well seasoned. I'd recommend this place for ramen and other items, but I wouldn't recommend the katsu don. read more

Majikku Ramen is a nice reliable place to get a quick bite. I have been there several times over the last 2 years and the experience has been consistently good. It's not a fancy restaurant but there is nothing to complain about! It is located in Skyline plaza, so parking is not an issue. There's a Ranch 99 next door, so I often club it with some errands. The restaurant is clean and quiet, the service is pretty quick, and the staff is friendly and polite. We had a work lunch meeting there for a couple of hours and we felt that their staff was very attentive, but not to the point where it felt intrusive. I have only tried the sushi there and it has always been fresh. I feel that it's good value for money. read more
