You rent a car thinking it's dependable and reliable, not unsafe and uncertain. When I called to let them know the car had issues, the response received was "that sucks, we can give you a gift card." We were renting a car to drive and explore MT for the weekend. When I was searching for estimates on rentals, the online system asked for the pick up / drop off days and times. It then provided me a estimated rental rate. When I dropped off the car a day early, my final bill was $100 more than my estimate. After going back and forth over the past week with Avis' customer service, I have learned that the rate was mileage based. I told them that was never disclosed to me when reserving. There claim is "yes" it was because if I look at the fine print it says "mileage: LL-MI". Really!? That is disclosure? They refuse to adjust the price to a daily rate and insist this "code" provides full disclosure. I will NEVER rent from them again and earn others to be explicit about rate calculations if you must rent from them. Back to Enterprise for me!
