On day of rental, they did not have the car type I reserved and blew me off. I believe they didn't want to honor the price I received. The manager was rude and told me to call customer service. Once I called there, they moved my reservation to another location but it was $300. more. That person said in order to honor my original price, they'd have to transfer me to management. That person said I would have to pay the increased price first and they would reimburse me later. Are you kidding me, do you think after this experience I would trust them to give me a reimbursement?? Don't use Avis or Budget, owned by Avis! I had problems with Avis at the Tampa, Fl airport. They don't handle the reservations correctly (you really don't have a reservation when you think you do) and their customer service is rude and unprofessional. They don't treat customers well. The local office referred me to talk to the company's customer service and they were horrible as well. Worst car rental experience!…read more Due to an accident, I needed a rental and this location was the closest to the body shop to which I need to drop my car off at. I was told multiple times by the employee of this location that the day of my pick up, I would be getting a luxury SUV. The day before my pick up, I verified once again and was told the luxury SUV would be a Q7. The day of the pick up I arrived at 4PM, and was told no luxury SUV is available. They stated I was supposed to show up at 12PM but we had not agreed on a time the day before? After trying to find other locations in the area with luxury SUV. The agent came out and said they have located a luxury vehicle for me. Due to being short on time and needing to drop off my vehicle to the body shop, I agreed to take the vehicle. The vehicle was extremely dirty inside/out and smelled heavily of smoke. Again, due to time crunch, I drove off. Unable to stand the state of the car, I resorted to getting it cleaned from my own pocket and even purchased air freshener so the smell could go away. Two days in, the tire light and the vehicle's oil change light came on. I called the rental location and was told it's perfectly fine and I can drive the vehicle as normal. I'd attempted to get replacement as I was completely fed up with the issues this rental was causing me and was told they don't have any vehicle available. I called multiple other locations and kept hitting the same wall but when I went online to research the location for rental they had multiple options available for rental. In my opinion, if you are renting due to an accident, they give you the ones that are not getting rented. Regardless, the state of the rental was just unacceptable. Do better. By far this has been the worst experience of my life with a rental company.
