I just moved in to the neighborhood and I was looking for a specific bottle of wine so I googled it and I found it at this store 4 blocks away from me! The people there where so friendly and helpful. The owner came over and introduce him self ! Old school stuff I loved it. On top of them carrying the wine I was looking for they had a really well sorted out selection of wines and spirits. I'm now a customer and every time I'm there George or his daughter Gail are always with a smile and ready to talk old school . I love the store. read more

Family owned and operated, George and team treat you like family and always have great recommendations especially for European wines. If you don't see the price marked and don't ask what the price is for spirits you will be overcharged. This might not apply to all of the employees or all of the customers but it happened to me and could happen to you. I ended up paying - with incorrectly calculated sales tax - $32. for a 200 ml. bottle of Kings County Bourbon which sells elsewhere for $22 - 25 without sales tax. Caveat emptor. If this place were a butcher shop they'd have their thumb on the scale. read more

I like their selection of French rosé and small batch artisanal wines such as the Bolgheri reds from Tuscany I just discovered there today. Was recommended a few red wines that I was searching for to compliment an impending (and amazing!) steak dinner we were preparing at home. NEVER AGAIN !! So I went here right before Christmas I told the guy I was looking for a bottle under 15$. He then scoffed at me and said "no!". We swung by Granada to pick up some wine for a BYOB dinner in the area. Immediately upon entering, we were greeted by the men manning the counter. As we browsed Charbel popped out and was able to offer his expertise on the selection of wines and how to pair well with our food. He was incredibly knowledgeable and the selection of wines at Granada was impressive, to say the least. I ended up buying some whiskey for my dad for Fathers Day! The family-owned shop has been there forever. I can not recommend this place enough to locals, people in the area or even making a special trip to find some interesting bottles. read more

A clean and beautiful store with the widest selection of wines I have truly ever seen. George the owner is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and seems to know every wine that has ever been made and his son Charbel, although dressed much more shabbily than his father, is also an excellent resource when it comes to the much more economical picks of wine and cheaper spirits that he himself drinks so he can easily recommend those looking to shop on the lower end of the price spectrum. So I've been in this liquor store about 3 times out of the 5 years I've lived in the neighborhood and let's just say I'm never giving my money to them again. Customer service was ok. I was looking for a sweet wine for tonight and basically just got pointed to an area (at this point she wasn't helping anyone) and she proceeded to help a gentleman and being very friendly and kind to him. When I got up to the cash register to pay she was very dry and fast with me. The gentleman even offered that the employee took care of me first. She proceeded to ring both of us up. I think she was trying to flirt with him but I needed help. Do your job next time. read more

Great experience at Granada. My wife and I just moved into the neighborhood and needed to restock our supply of liquor and wine. George and Charbel were extremely welcoming and helpful. Their prices skew slightly more expensive than surrounding stores but the selection and service makes up for it. Being new to the area, finding a reliable wine store was obviously (for us) one of the top priorities. Granada Wines and Spirits has managed to carry this load. Located on Smith Street with a sign that you can't miss, there are always ample deals across all different styles of wine throughout the store. You can find very good bottles for $15 or less, which is just what we wanted. Most importantly, the owner is friendly, willing to help, and extremely knowledgeable about his products. Anyone when shopping for something specific, wants the person that's selling to be knowledgeable in that specific thing. A young but cultivated man (Charbel was his name) asked what the occasion?, etc.I let him know it was my friend's 25th birthday and he loves whiskey, but I didn't want to just pick up any whiskey and hand it to him. I don't even usually write reviews unless needed but this one takes the cake. I came into the store at about 12:30pm and was greeting by a middle age gentlemen (possibly the owner) and I replied back but was on the phone , while browsing the red wine area, he proceeded to get on his phone and talking loudly about how people are rude to be on the phone while shopping. I went from wanting to buy to just walked out . If there is a rule of no utilizing the phone , let me know in advance or just simply deny my business but not be rude about it. I stumbled in the shop one day to get a bottle of red not knowing much and Charbel, the owner's sons was very helpful in picking out a Malbec which is now my Wife's favorite! Also my wife's cousin decided to get married on my wife and I's anniversary so to say she wasn't happy is an understatement!! This place has undergone a great transformation over the past year. It is bright and roomy, with a vast selection of wines and liquor. No window shopping behind bulletproof glass here. You can browse freely at your leisure. Not only do they allow pets into the store, they even give them treats! The staff is helpful and friendly, and would rather send you somewhere else than steer you wrong. I was unsure about a wine, and they let me taste it before making a decision. I also saw them do the same for other customers. They went so far as to offer to gift wrap my wines. Heck, they even provide FREE DELIVERY in the immediate area! Granada is a great place to get your wines. The selection is huge. The prices are definitely reasonable. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. Their store is welcoming and well lit, inside and out - definitely a plus for a lone lady at night. There is no partition glass, which usually gives me that whole wino/derelict vibe. Most of the time they also have the option of buying your wine chilled (no extra charge), which is perfect for last minute buyers expecting guests.
