Came to grab a quick lunch after the beach. It was a perfect meal to end the day. Ordered the fish dip which was flavorful and also a burger that was perfectly cooked. The waitress was very helpful with recommendations and making accommodations for my daughter with a kids meal. Ordered some grilled shrimp with fries that she loved.
If you are in the area you need to stop in! This is the ideal summer restaurant & summer meal. We split the watermelon salad & ceviche for apps. For sides we got the french fries and potato's that came with a yummy curry sauce. For my main I got the lobster roll. Everything was so good & the seafood was so fresh. The waitress was also very helpful & nice. Lastly, they had a cover band that added to the fun summer patio vibes.
A must try local spot, ended up getting this sandwich with Grouper & cuatro leches for dessert. Cannot recommend it enough, been coming here since I was 9 y/o. Left the city for. a little and just recently came by the area for a 2 mile run. Parked over at the beach & crossed to road to gramps. Great service, tiki bar ambiance. Great people, great food with great times. You have the option to sit inside with A/C or outside. Be mindful, only valet parking in the area, for free parking, expect to cross the street and hope for parking at the beach. I will say, this is the Best Grouper sandwich i've had in my life.
First time coming here for sunset, and it was amazing! We had to wait about an hour to be seated, so i got an order of crinkle fries for the table at the bar. They were perfectly crispy and the perfect appetizer. The wait was worth it. The view of the Miami skyline is one of the best out there. Then we got to the mains. I had heard such good things about the lobster roll. It took me forever to decide between the cold and the hot. Ultimately, i went with my heart-- i always prefer cold. It was DELICIOUS on the hot fresh roll. A lot of the cold lobster meat with a delicious aioli. The smash burger also looked divine. The next time i come back, i may have to try the hot lobster roll. The service was very nice, easy to park, cheap valet. If i came back i would try to book a reservation, if possible.
Gramp's Getaway is one of my favorite spots in Key Biscayne. There's nothing better than grabbing an ice-cold beer, soaking in the incredible waterfront views, and enjoying the amazing weather. The atmosphere is laid-back and exactly what you want from a waterfront hangout. The food is just as good as the scenery--I'm a huge fan of the burger, and the oysters are always a must-order. Whether you're meeting friends, watching the sunset, or just escaping for a few hours, this place never disappoints.
Grandpa getaway is a VIBE. the bar is on the water, trendy, and full of young people, locals and visitors alike. All the appeal of a South beach bar without having to make the haul out to the beach. We went with friends around happy hour and enjoyed beer buckets, oysters, ahi crudo, fish dip and a DJ set that would rival Miamis best. It's definitely a crowded and well known spot, which is part of the appeal, so be patient because it may take 45 min to get a table. They do let you hang at the bar inside and order drinks in the meantime, which is very clean and country club like
I love this spot more and more each time I go -- it truly the essence of Miami! Gramps getaway, is definitely a local gem that offers incredible views, great food, good tunes and 5 star service. This last visit, Dani was our server and she was just the sweetest, and friendliest. She really made our experience even more perfect than it was. We started off sipping on lemonades, will enjoying ceviche (thanks to The Lazy Oyster) and then indulged on burgers, catch of the day sandwiches, esquites, and crinkle fries. Every single thing was delicious, made to perfection, and fresh. The flavors are unique and rich. My favorite was the ceviche and the esquites. If you're looking to enjoy Miami's stunning views while getting some really good food -- look no further, this is the spot for you.
Gramps Getaway is such a great spot with a beautiful view of the Miami skyline. The scenery alone makes it worth visiting, especially in the evening or during happy hour. There is valet parking available for seven dollars, which is good to know ahead of time. We walked in with no reservation and were seated right away. The service was great and our waiter was really friendly and attentive. We came during happy hour and enjoyed the ten dollar cocktails. I ordered the double cheeseburger, which ended up being a smash burger. It was pretty good, but at $18 and not coming with fries, it felt a little pricey. It also wasn't very filling and honestly I probably could have eaten two of them. We also ordered the crab dip and that was easily the star of the show. It was spicy, had a nice kick, and we completely devoured it. The conch fritters were okay, but they didn't compare to the crab dip. The drinks were good and paired well with everything. Overall, the ambiance, service, and food made for a really fun experience. We had a great time and I'd definitely come back.
Gramps right on the water and maybe because if that it's always busy, I've never been and not have to wait. Good thing is they do have parking and valet right next to the entrance of the restaurant so it's really easy to get there. Their fish dip was divine and it seems like they're fry their tortilla chips right in house cause they're nice and thick. The smoked fish dip just is everything you'd expect from it, they give you some peppers on the side, which add some of that kind of freshness that I think it needs with a squeeze of lime for sure. They had a variety of oysters and every single one was delicious ranging from your salt bombs with a lot of brine to a more sweeter, dull flavor. There was something for everyone. And I have to say the hotdog is also amazing great crunch on the sausage itself with an extra crunch from the crispy onions on top all held in this kind of poppyseed bun. Gramps is great. The views are amazing, the people are nice and you get to celebrate the best of Miami by being on the water.
We came here on Super Bowl Sunday for dinner with a group of four. We were seated outside at a high top table. They were fairly busy, but not as busy as expected. Apparently the way we were supposed to receive had just left so we were assigned another person. We can tell by the speed of service that this person we got assigned was a little overwhelmed however, staff tried their best and there was never really a long wait. We order chicken wings, hotdog, dogs and corn besides some drinks everything was really good however, you have to realize with this excellent view on Miami. The prices are not cheap. It's all about location. There is a lack of parking space therefore there is only valet, which is seven dollar.
Highly recommended for a casual get together with friends and family. It's even kid friendly during the daytime as it wasn't packed, which gave the kids space to play and run around (we sat outdoors). The lobster roll was so delicious, so perfect! But my family's favorite thing in the menu that we kept ordering to share was the conch fritter balls -- it's a must! The cocktails were also really well prepared, and there was a DJ playing music on Sunday afternoon. The service was great. Nothing to complain about. You will have a really good time here!
Since my last visit, Gramps has stepped it up! Today, we went for dinner and it was a nice experience. Andrea, our server along with a young man, delivered great service with a smile. The views over the water is always nice to see. The chopped kale and cabbage salad is one of the best salads I've ever had in my life! It was THAT good! The wings were really good and flavorful. They were on happy hour; four wings for $12 (too pricey in my opinion). The crinkle fries were cooked to a crisp, but has potential. The double cheeseburger was perfect (according to my guest). I'm glad I went back because everyone deserves a second chance (not exes). Check them out and enjoy!
This place was hyped up on my feed. I was excited to go with a friend after a walk. It is very casual beachy vibes. The parking was interesting. It was valet but they give you back your key and you have to get your car. Limited parking. The food was okay. The place is more all about. The view. The crowd is very laid back. Prices are decent. I would come back for the view

Amazing happy hour with one of my favorite sunset views of Miami! This place has a casual & relaxed open-air tropical vibe and great ambience with a DJ playing lots of throwbacks. Would recommend the smoked fish dip from the HH menu! One downside is that parking is a bit limited; there was a $7 valet option for the lot immediately next to the property that we chose. Overall - highly recommend + will be returning! read more

The view is amazing and cool over all vibe. Prices for oysters are a bit ridiculous and service at the bar was spotty at best (I'm extremely service sympathetic and if you read any of my reviews you realize that's a fact). I won't be back and neither will anyone in our group. But if your in the area it's a option Worth considering if your on the key read more
Came to visit, this new place that I believe from the same owners as Gramps in Wynwood since we love going there we wanted to try it this location. This place has a bit of a Keys vibes with amazing views of the bay and Miami Skyline perfect for a sunny day. Parking is to the side of the restaurant and its valet not expensive though. When we got there we were told it was a 35/45 min wait but can wait on the side bar looking the skyline. We ordered some drinks which did not disappoint, within a few minutes thar went by we were called to be seated at table. Waitress was great friendly and advised us of the specials for the day. We went with one of the specials which a chicharron ceviche this is good but what hit the most was their grilled octopus salad very tender and overall delicious. The menu is pretty simple and has lots of options. We will definitely come back and try the oysters. The cocktails were prices pretty decent considering the area it's in. And music was pretty chill kind of left like you were in a lounge. We will definitely be back possibly with friends as they are also big gramps fans. Wish they also offered this OG PIZZA because it's great as well but i understand this is more of a fancy atmosphere. We definitely recommend coming for the vibes and drinks and if you are up to eating bites on a beautiful sunny Florida day. read more

Never disappoints. Oysters fresh, cold, and delicious. Service was great, when usually it could go either way. Tried the octopus salad today, which was very good! Tasty different flavors, and the breadcrumb topping tied it all together. Also tried razor clams for the first time ever today- at gramps or otherwise. Dressed with a spicy peach topping, they were refreshing and delicious and presented beautifully. Obviously the views here can't be beat, so ambiance is the best. read more

New management? Huh . The most ridiculous new rules. Used to be able to walk in grab a drink etc...now you need a reservation and you get put on a waitlist for a bar seat!!! What is this California? Oh and the frozen drink machines are broken. The regular drinks are WEAK. They make you wait inside which is a hell hole. Kids and dogs barking. A horrible experience. Then there is this huge circle in the middle? Purpose?? read more
Cool casual spot for some bites and drinks. They have a good HH deal for drinks 4-7 and limited but good food menu. My margarita was fantastic and the oysters were so fresh with a variety of homemade sauces for dressing them. Friendly and quick service and the views of the ocean/miami skyline are unmatched. Can't wait to return to this charming tiki bar! read more

Tried Gramps for the second time and was once again blown away! We had to get the burger again and it was just as good as the last time. Hands down the best burger in Miami right now. We also tried the variety dozen of oysters from Lazy Oyster and they did not disappoint. Their selection of mignonettes was superb. The Baja Caesar was great, the dressing was not fishy and my favorite part was the crispy tortilla strips. The Conch Fritters were delicious, as was the spicy sauce that came with it. The chicken sandwich was not my favorite, just because it was hinted with curry, but overall not bad. The service was impeccable as always and the lo fi dj had the best music for a relaxing Saturday afternoon. Can't wait to come back again and again! read more

What is there to not love about this place? The location is gorgeous--right on the water with a view of downtown Miami. The drinks are always incredible, and the food was out of this world. I got the chicharron leche de Tigre and the hotdog. The leche de Tigre was very reminiscent of a crudo but with chicharron instead of raw fish. The chicharron wasn't fatty but was expertly fried. The dish did lean a bit more on the heavy side, and I was wanting some sort of relief. I think the dish needs more acid, maybe some shaved apples or pears, or some herbal element to balance out the heat and the fattiness of the dish. Regardless, it was super tasty. The hotdog was perfectly charred, and the garnishments really brought everything together. The bar staff, as always, is super kind and attentive. The food and drinks always come out quickly. read more
This place is the best. Great way to end a work week, beach day, watch a game, or just to have a great time. Outdoor location with shade providing great drinks and a variety of food options, highlighting the lazy oyster. Great views of the water, good service, and all the food I've tried is amazing. Highly recommend any of the oysters & the chicken sandwich. Check this place out if you're in the area. Dog friendly, kid friendly as well. read more

I had a really great first time experience here. The service was great, food came out quickly, the vibes were nice (lunch time on a Wednesday), the drinks were good, and the views were stunning. This is definitely a place I would come back to on a weekend to compare the atmosphere. All in all, a great experience and would come back again. The hotdog was killer! I don't eat oysters but my friends said they were bomb (try the plum oyster sauce). THE BROCCOLI WAS AMAZING! If you really like key lime pie, please get it. I'm not pie enthusiast but this tastes exactly like how it should. 10/10 read more

I'd been here when it was Whiskey Joe's and boy is this a totally new vibe! There's a food truck stationed beyond the bar offering delicious oysters (my friend and I got the east coast ones), and everything else (cocktails and coconut shrimp that were a very generous portion), we ordered at the bar. There was a DJ and eventually, an unexpected drag show. If you get too hot outside, there is an indoor area with a bar. The Wynwood Gramp's crowd definitely followed them to Key Biscayne, which brings a whole new crowd and vibe to the area that's kind of refreshing. If you're looking for a laid-back spot to hang out and enjoy a cocktail with a view, this is your place. read more

Tino is an excellent host and outstanding bartender. The lobster is competitive with Joes Stone crab and the smash burger is tasty read more
Great place to go and grab drinks and watch the sunset. With a sidebar oyster station how could you go wrong. The lazy oyster serves up fresh oysters with their yummy sauces. The location is beautiful being right on the marina overlooking the water. Gramps gave this place the revival that it needed! The drinks are super delicious and so reasonable at $12-$13 a drink! Music is great with a live DJ on the weekends (and not too loud so you can still enjoy the company around you. We so enjoyed our time here and the kids loved it too! Can't wait to go back and try the lobster rolls! read more

What a great experience at Gramps! I didn't know what to expect, but was greeted by the kindest staff and bartenders. This hot dog was on the happy hour menu and truly the best hot dog I have ever had. The house made poppyseed bun was incredible, but the flavors and textures between the miso mustard, jalapeño relish, and crispy shallots made this a show stopper. The fries were perfectly crispy and the ambiance even on a cloudy day was incredible. 100/10 recommend. read more
I LOVE THIS. I was already a fan of Gramps in Wynwood, and while the vibes are different, you can still feel the same DNA. Fun menu of cocktails, good beer selection, and even plenty of NA choices. I love the oyster pop-up they are hosting but hear they are working on their own food menu too. Food came out quickly and bartender was friendly. Can't beat the skyline views! read more

The view is beautiful and the music was a good vibe. Unfortunately, poor service from management is the reason why I'm giving a 1 star. If you are planning to visit with a large party (8+) prepare to be tossed around the restaurant aimlessly. There's no communication between the hostess, floor supervisors, or waiters. My party of 13 was mistakenly placed in a table by the hostess and then told we could not sit there and had to split the party and moved to the other side of the restaurant. All while already having taken orders by the waiter and food and drinks already served. We spoke with management who said they couldn't accommodate us. So we were left standing on the railing with plates in our hands (in a half empty restaurant). Of note, the table we were removed from stayed empty and while we were gathering to leave, we were told the table was now available for us. read more

I love Gramps in Wynwood but this venue wins for the views. The drinks are delicious and the vibes remind me of a dive bar in the keys. Great place to hang out and have a few drinks. read more
Cool concept, especially in this part of town. My fiancé and I treated ourselves here after walking the Rickenbacker Causeway :) Menu is pretty limited, we got the crab dip (delicious) and a dozen oysters from The Lazy Oyster but were still hungry. They've got all your favorite drinks like Rosemary's Baby and the same no-frills, no-BS vibe as the OG Gramps. Just no karaoke or shows (yet)! read more

Yacht Rock, Superb drinks and what a view. Located in Key Biscayne this gorgeous outdoors tiki hut rooftop joint has it all! Easy free parking. Started off with a frozen margarita, which was made w fresh lime juice and agave. Hubby had a toasted Pina colada with fire toasted coconut flakes and rum floater. We sat at the bar and our bartender was so friendly and helped us pick out apps. Ceviche was fresh and tasty. Shrimp cocktail had enormous shrimps and tasted amazing. We were convinced to get the "best smashburgers in Miami". Burger was so yummy. We also got the mahi sandwich which was perfect with a slaw that went well with it. The crinkle fries were so good too! Second drink I ordered was Cucumber in Paradise. Wow. Spectacular. All drink mixes are home made and you can tell. You get views of Brickell skyline and our beautiful ocean. Really good music. I had a great time. Cannot wait to go back. read more
We had a great time here at gramps getaway. The food options are limited to mostly oysters and lobster rolls which were both amazing! The ambiance is perfect to grab a drink and sit by the water and pass time with some friends. We had the pina coloada and it was so flavorful and strong. The bartenders did unfortunately need a bit of work, the place was fairly empty and it took a really long time to get drinks because the bar tenders keep stopping to talk to eachother, talk to other customers, or check their phones. This is really the only thing that kept me from leaving them a five star review. Everything else in this place is great! The location, the vibes, the drinks, it was perfect! The only flaw truly is the speed/rate of which the bar tenders work at. We had a great time but would most likely not return on the weekend because if they were slow on a Wednesday night with a small crowd, we don't want to try our chances on a Saturday. read more
