Menu had 8 flavors of margaritas to choose from but server said only lime strawberry and mango were available. Horrible salsa with the complementary chips. Looked and tasted like tomato sauce. Queso was orange brown colored and lacked flavor. Nachos with shrimp that we ordered came out with imitation crab on them instead of shrimp, and were cold. Veggie Quesadilla was bland and the veggies were almost raw, barely cooked. Street Taco trio fist tacos was ground fish? Shrimp was cold. Tortillas cold like right out of the bag. Didn't eat any of it. Didn't want to complain or screw over the waitress, paid for it all but didn't eat any of it. Will never come back. read more

Stopped in for a quick appetizer and margaritas with a friend... very disappointed. We ordered a side of queso to dip our chips in... it was a huge bowl of some disgusting orange liquid cheese and was not cheap either. I've had queso at many restaurants and have never seen/tasted anything of this sort. The server gave us no warning or hint that it's not your typical queso.. and when we didn't touch it and left it on the side for her to take she never asked if anything was wrong. We also had ordered 1 order of quesadillas to split, hoping these would be better. Our server brought out 2 orders of them instead. We ate 1 each and didn't like them and politely asked for our check. The server again never asked if anything was wrong even though we had a table full of uneaten food. We drank our margaritas, paid our bill and will never go back. We wanted a quick bite to eat and a drink for cheap and ended up with a $40 bill and stomach aches. read more

This was TERRIBLE. WORST Mexican I've ever eaten. Service was awful. Margaritas were terrible. Mix was straight from the grocery store isle. In do not understand why this place is constantly raved about. I will never eat here again. Only gave this one star because it wouldn't let me post with zero. read more

Absolutely disgusting !. There is nothing authentic about this place. Ordered Fajitas, dry and bland. Plated on a piece of aluminum. Do not eat here. read more

Simple Mexican food served with a smile. We've had several things off the menu and they've all been good. Parking is easy. Prices are fair. Vaya ahora amigos! read more

A buck fifty for salsa and chips! They are a little pricey but the portions are good. Service is OK read more

I've been a regular at Gramma Mora's for many years. If you love spicy like I do, they have THE best green chile, hands down!! The "sopa" is a must try. Not only is the food out of this world, the atmosphere is too. Great service and family owned and operated. Delicious margaritas and daiquiris + large outside patio, makes this place a must go in the summer! Fully stocked bar complete with your favorite Mexican beer... Gramma Mora's is part of the heartbeat of Hertel Avenue. A must try!! read more

Food is Freshly made and prepared. Great authentic Mexican food. Quality is definitely here

Just stopped in for some drinks. Not to much of a beer selection but decent pours of liquor and a friendly bartender who gave us some free chips and salsa. read more

Yesterday I finally I got around to trying Gramma Mora's. Located on Hertel near Sterling, the surrounding neighborhood is lively. Portions are large, the chorizo is yummy, and the decor is festive. I didn't order one, but they do offer 48 oz. margaritas (advertised as "serves 3, fun for 1!"). Not crazy about the Mexican rice, but not horrible either. read more

Horrible food was ice cold, clearly left overs and was not even microwaved to an edible temperature. Hands down the WORST Mexican food around . read more

Went to Gramma Moras with my entire family ...10 of us ..ages 3 to 94 , for Mothers Day brunch yesterday. We ordered apps and drinks and every one got something different from the menus ...the brunch menu had so many great options and all the regular Menu options were available too ! Everything was Delicious and spot On...food was fresh and served hot , drinks were always filled and the service was outstanding . In my Opinion , Gramma Moras has the best guacamole in all of Buffalo and their complimentary chips And salsa are my favorites .I couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate Mother's Day . I highly recommend !! read more

Went here on Mother's Day, what a disappointment left here very hungry and frustrated!!! Sat down waited 15 minutes for waitress just to bring water, then took another ten to bring drinks. So this was a Brunch menu and was very limited, so it was a party of three at my table finally placed our orders 25 minutes after seated cause that's how long it took the waitress to ask. Now mind you there are only three other tables occupied in the whole restaurant. Takes 20 minutes til the first plate gets to the table,So my husband gets his meal and he waits 5-10 minutes before I say just eat it's gonna get cold, our meals will be right out. NOT THE CASE!!! 10 minutes go by and nothing the waitress comes to the table and says oh I just saw that your orders didn't get put in with his?? WHAT??? There is only 3 of us???? Now I'm aggravated and lost my appetite, I tell her don't bother. And then the owner is walking up to every table that has FOOD but ours asking them if there is a problem? Really Hello over here!! Don't get me wrong the owners are nice , but man terrible. Sorry but you definitely will not get my business....Had to settle for POUTINE which was awesome.. read more

Went there for a late lunch and we were only 1 of 2 tables in the place. The service was good and quick, they came over and asked us repeatedly if we needed anything and how our food was (I say that as a compliment ). I had the beef queso burrito and it was absolutely delicious! I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews on here. Good food, good service, and good prices! read more

Not what I originally expected. Not authentic Mexican food for like children food. What ticked me off the most was the little things that you have to pay extra for. When I get a full size chicken Quesadilla for 10$ I expect Sour cream to at least be include. Nope. And the food itself wasnt that amazing. I wouldnt go back becase I like more authentic mexican but it wasnt absolutely awful. read more

Service was poor. The waiter ignored us most of the time. Wait time was long. When we finally got our food, the one order was wrong and the waiter admitted as much. I tried it anyway, but it was inedible and made my stomach upset immediately. I couldn't eat anything else after that. I waved the server down and he removed it. Service got worse after that. Overall, it took forever and I didn't even get food out of it. read more

So, I came to gramma Mora's for a drink. What I got was far beyond my expectations. I recommend you get here asap and ask Vinny, the bartender, for a South Of The Border margherita! It'll blow your mind. Spicy? Yes! Delicious? Absolutely! Don't drive by when on Hertel! Stop in and ask for Vinny! read more

The "grande sized" Margarita seemed to be made without tequila... and the guacamole, queso and everything else seemed to be without seasonings. Needless to say, you can't get anymore un-authentic than this. read more

This place is a dump. The food and the atmosphere. It's dirty and I was afraid a rat was going to pop out at me in the bathroom! The food was like something my 10 year old could make for me. Not delectable at all. Very huge disappointment. Save your money. read more

Having lived in Texas for over 20 years, this was disappointing. The strawberry margarita on the rocks was syrupy and overly sweet. The fish taco was overwhelmed by the cheese. I didn't really taste the fish. It's hard to describe the chimichanga. It just wasn't seasoned correctly. Also it was smaller than normal. read more

Wasn't really impressed but decent food , the queso wasn't that great it could of been better .

Best margaritas around. Especially the jalapeño one. Nice selection of drinks and food.

I love the chicken rancheros; they are the best! The sopa is really good too. Our service has always been good.

Really wanted to like this place because I love Mexican food, but the food was tasteless and expensive, could taste nothing but cheese with everything on my sampler platter. read more

I just moved to the neighborhood and have been here at least a dozen times in the last six weeks. Very welcoming atmosphere from the bartenders. Vinnie is funny, introduced me to bar regulars as he knew I was new to the area, and also is great. The margaritas are delicious. The food is good, and when it has the spicy symbol next to it in the menu, they really mean it is spicy. I have tried most of the menu and I am always happy. Sunday night bartender is great. Fun bar crowd. Owner was very nice the few times I met her. I will be back many more times and the other reviews are not a fair representation of it. Definitely give it a try especially if you want to to relax at the bar and have some mexican food. I felt more comfortable here than any other place I tried on Hertel. read more

I live in the suburbs and therefore don't frequent Gramma Mora's often since my friends think places nearer are good enough (I guess). I have never been disappointed with what I order - the Azteca Burrito. It's hot and spicy and I love it. The server we had yesterday was so nice. I have been to many other Mexican restaurants, along with the one in Hamburg (which has disappointed). I have read other reviews. I think every restaurant has changes in staff, anticipates slower nights and therefore have either less staff on hand or someone calls in sick and everyone suffers. I think if you politely make yourself heard about your food and nothing is done, then yes, that's a place I wouldn't go back to. But if they do try to make it right, cut them some slack. I've even driven the 15-20 minute distance for take-out. I'm a fan and always will be. read more

Best Mexican restaurant in buffalo! I have never had a bad experience, the food is always delicious and the service is always great. I would recommend anyone who likes Mexican food to come to Gramma Mora's! read more

Seriously the staff and the food... Amazing. I love the family feel. Anytime I go for dinner waited on and cared for. Being vegan I'm really sensitive to dairy and they take care of me. The bartender Vinny even remembered me after a week or two ... That's great Customer service right there. P.s the music is great too read more

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food for a good price, there are other options than Gramma Mora's. It was your run-of-the-mill tacos, chips, and salsa. Food was OK, nothing spectacular. I would come here just for drinks next time. read more

Came in with my husband before going to see "Brooklyn" at the North Park across the street. Parking is always challenging on Hertel but Gramma Mora's never disappoints. The sopa is simply amazing and the sangria is fantastic. Our server was friendly, food came out in a very reasonable time and we made it to our movie without rushing. Great dinner! read more

I ordered flautas and my date burrito con pollo. The order took a long time to arrive and was disappointing. I wouldn't be surprised if I learned the chicken was canned as well as the enchilada sauce. Also the obligatory chips and salsa were obviously not fresh or made on site. Will not return. Might be ok for late night drinks and munchies but definitely not for those looking to enjoy their meal. read more

I love this place! There food is great and can be made to order. Alot of vegetarian options. A menu to satisfy any taste. Now that being said it's not authentic Mexican food. It's gramma moras. It's the place we have known for years! It's a place you can go too for drinks with your friends. They don't clame to be anything other than what they are. And that's a fun Mexican style restaurant. O and I love that they upgraded the bathroom too! read more

I have been coming here for 20 years. The food is consistently excellent. Tonight we sat outside on the beautiful patio and enjoyed an incredible meal. Make time to come here. read more

Coming from southern California I can say, from much experience, that I know good, authentic Mexican food. Gramma moras is a fantastic combination of genuine, traditional family recipes and high quality ingredients. From the extensive selection of premium tequilas to the vast and diverse menu, this place has it all. Not to mention a fun and casual atmospher. I would definitely recommend to my friends. read more

I am a special education teacher and I had the pleasure of bringing my entire class through on a field trip. Both owners were there and were interacting with my students in such a positive manner. The owners son, Vinny, took us on a tour of the establishment while explaining job duties and expectations. He was friendly and interacted perfectly with my students by asking questions and allowing my students to ask questions as well. The food was fantastic and my students had seconds. We started off with their famous, homemade chips and salsa. Then we were served beef or chicken tacos with a side of rice or beans. Students were taught how to work the beverage station and truly enjoyed it. They talked about the experience for days. Many parents even spoke to me about the trip and inquired about going for dinner as a family. Thank you Gramma Mora's for making my students feel welcome, gain knowledge and have an experience they will never forget! read more

It takes a lot for me to be truly disappointed in everything at a restaurant but man this place did it. I just went to sit outside and have some margaritas as the weather is getting nicer but did they royally disappoint me! The one star is for outdoor seating. Other than that we ordered the big boy margaritas (48oz) which I thought would be a great start to a Saturday night but I don't even think there was alcohol in them?! For a Mexican joint you would think they would try a little harder here.... when asking the girls next to us how they liked theirs they also said they stunk.... but mentioned that when they order the normal size glasses they taste much better. Mind you we sent back our drinks (mortifying!) and just had 2 Negro Modelo because hey you can't screw those up! We ordered 2 apps before our drink fiasco and those were even worse than the drinks! I went for nachos because I knew Yelpers did not like this place but I was thinking, how can you screw up nachos?! But this spot knows how.... the chorizo was ground mystery meat, old lettuce, 3 tomato and and overwhelming amount of not melted cheese. Man it was bad. I was hoping at least the drinks were ok so I could have a spanish spot walking distance from my house but nooooo way will I ever return here. Try at your own risk! read more
