This is the first restaurant I've really been to since discovering that I was sensitive to gluten…read morethat really made me feel seen and feel like my options were unlimited. To start you walk into this cute little restaurant that feels like a throw back to the early 2000's. Fun light fixtures, yellows and purples, paintings, etc. The owner happened to be serving that day and he was such a pleasure! He gave us a full run down on the menu, why he founded the restaurant, his journey with gluten and told us nearly everything on the menu could be made gluten free. Then he recommended the Benny chips as an appetizer. We ordered it and thought they were a really fun twist on nachos. Now for $17 I do wish we had more meat and a larger portion but overall they were great. Next for the main courses. We ordered the Chicago beef and the taste of Tuscany, both gluten free. The Chicago beef was a let down over all, was a little bland and needed more flavor. The potatoes that we substituted the chips for were bomb! The pasta was the clear winner. Was yummy and was a great tasting dish. Lastly we decided to order some plain cheesecake with strawberries.. fantastic! We loved it. Over all I'd normally give this place a 4/5 based on the food quality/quantity but with the customer service and the attention the owner showed to gluten free people... this is a 5/5! We will be back and this will likely be a staple for us!

We asked questions and she was a little unsure. But alas, she went and found the answer and we were rolling. I got the Mother Clucker chicken sandwich (just because of the name) and it was delicious. Everyone loved their food. I'd for sure come back.

The Tres Leches Latte was not only absolutely stunning, but just as delicious as it looked. Plus, the ice made it even better! Between the fantastic service, beautiful space, and amazing food and drinks, Morning Breakfast & Brunch definitely deserves a spot on your list! If you haven't tried it yet, I'd highly recommend stopping by. You won't regret it!

There is much more going on here than what the name implies, because Mornings has an unexpected Spanish flair to their menu. This was a pleasant discovery and makes me want to return soon to explore more of the menu. I love breakfast. I especially love splurging and eating breakfast out. I feel like eating breakfast at a restaurant is so indulgent. It's so simple and convenient to eat breakfast at home. To take the time to leave the house and enjoy a sit-down restaurant for the first meal of the day is so extravagant. I know I sound crazy, but I'm serious. Breakfast dates just hit different. And breakfast dates with your mom for her birthday are even more special. But here is my issue with most breakfast joints: they are all the same. It always makes me laugh when you are going to meet someone for breakfast and a lengthy discussion ensues over where to go. Does it even matter? They all serve the same things: Multiple forms of eggs, pancakes, french toast, breakfast meats and probably a "skillet" meal. You might be lucky enough to find a chef who knows how to prepare a proper eggs benedict (The key? Restraint. A little hollandaise goes a long way), but beyond that, pick wherever you want to go. The menu will most likely be a carbon-copy. Well, color me surprised when I gazed upon the menu at Mornings! A carne asada skillet, the bad hombre omelette with chorizo, black beans and habanero cheese. They also offer tres leches pancakes, four types of benedcits and chilaquiles. This menu was fresh and different compared to mose midwestern breakfast establishments. This came as such a welcomed surprise. After receiving a hot cup of coffee, I decided on the chilaquiles. I had only heard of this dish, but had never had the opportunity to try it out. Have you ever had a dish that you didn't particularly enjoy, and yet you could tell that it was made really well? This was my experience with chilaquiles. If you aren't familiar, chilaquiles are tortilla chips that have been simmered in salsa rojo or verde. I was slightly concerned about ordering wet tortillas, but I am always down for a new experience. Honestly, I won't be ordering the chilaquiles, again. They were pretty much what I expected after reading the description. However, I was still impressed with the dish. Mornings did a great job, and I would actully recommend them to someone who enjoys chilaquiles. Personally, I would rather try some other dishes and flavors on the menu. But my thought was simple: If I am enjoying a dish that I don't seem to be a fan of now that I have tried it, how great are the rest of thes dishes on the menu that I know I would enjoy! Whether its a solo trip, a nice birthday date with my mom, or a breakfast burrito to go to savor after my morning yoga class, I will definitely be back to Mornings.

But they needed me to help cover this run to Ohio, and I always jump at the chance to be alone in the truck cab, listening to good music, audiobooks and utilizing CarPlay to connect with people. Needless to say, when I got back to Indy around 3:00pm, I was starving. I was thankful that this Jersey Mike's opened up in this area about a year ago. I have visited this location a few times. I think the first time was just after they opened and I was headed to the Limp Bizkit show. (Note: probably one of the oddest shows I've ever been to. Plus: Corey Feldman! But Fred Durst killed it. And he stood on the stage after the show just soaking it all in and appreciating everyone who was there, waving and signing autographs. You could tell he didn't want to leave the stage. It was cool to see.) Anyway, it was a little hectic that first time I visited Jersey Mike's only being open a couple weeks and the manager was there coaching his team. I enjoyed witnessing that. Each time I've visited, the staff is very kind and helpful. They help you through the process and make sure your sandwich is made to perfection. Usually I like cold subs, bud I got the Big Kahuna Chicken Cheese (#55). Delicious. Fast forward to this evening (because I forgot to post this review earlier this week until I realized it was sitting in my Notes app. Oops!). My son had a golf match in Anderson, so we stopped in at Jersey Mike's. I went with the #55 once again. Still delicious with grilled chicken, onions, peppers and mushrooms with jalapeños. Shut the front door! The place is always clean and the staff were super patient with my daughters who wanted to order for themselves (which also included a ton of questions!). Jersey Mike's has become one of my favorite fast food sandwich shop chains.
