I love this dentist! My husband and children were patients of Ronald E. Grafton in the 90's, on Memorial Day weekend, I had a root canal done in two parts, and because of no fault of any one, I had a infection set in, and needed to see a oral surgeon on Memorial Day, and Dr. Ron made sure I was seen ASAP, he waited with me until the surgeon would agree to see me, and leave his BBQ. Dr. Ron takes good care of you, and he will go above and beyond for his patients! We had to move away, and returned to the Pleasant Hill area, and not only did I find Dr. Ron, I found that his son had joined the team. I am so thankful I get to see this dentist again. Dr Grafton and Madhu worked seamlessly to schedule my mother's root canal, post and bridge reconstruction in only 1 day. The day of the visit was equally as wonderful as the staff was waiting for my mother to arrive and had everything ready to go. I called Dr Grafton's office on Thursday for an appointment ASAP. I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and was having some pain. They offered me an appointment that day, but I booked for the next. I arrived for my appointment 20 minutes early and the staff was at lunch. I was greeted by Dr Grafton himself, and he took the time to sit with me and talk about his practice. He said he is really conservative and wouldn't perform anything that wasn't really needed, and would always tell me the price before they did the work. ( which is totally appreciated!!) I got a cleaning ( which they squeezed in :)) and full x-rays and exam. Turns out my teeth are fine and the sensitivity could be for many reasons, which the doctor walked me through. The doctor we very knowledgeable and didn't keep it in, it was a learning appointment for me ! He also took the time to request records from my old dentist, which he had before I even left. Madhu is the administrative guru and took the time to explain the operations of the practice. I felt comfortable and welcomed. I have my next cleaning scheduled and I am considering bringing in my son as this is a family practice . I found his practice on Yelp because of some of the reviews, hope this helps. read more

I had a great visit today, everyone in the office was extremely diligent about following covid protocol, and their dentistry was excellent as well! I have a very sensitive gag reflex, and their x-ray procedure was faster and less invasive than anywhere else I've been. Drs. Ronald and Aaron Grafton, a father/son duo, are menschs. They expertly counseled me through a decision about whether to extract a second molar or attempt to save it. A chain dentistry practice pushed me to go for a costly extraction followed by bone graft and implant. Drs. Grafton pointed out that the tooth was still viable and placed a filling in the tooth instead. It felt like the chain dentistry practice minimized the benefits of attempting to save the tooth to charge for additional, costly procedures whereas Drs. Grafton took a patient-centric approach by helping me keep my natural teeth for as long as possible and helped me develop a treatment plan for the longer term (including referring me to the excellent Dr. Han (https://www.pleasanthilloralsurgery.com/) for extraction of two wisdom that had to come out). Dr. Aaron Grafton is a very ethical and competent dentist. The younger Dr. Grafton had been my dentist for a couple of years. When I got a new dental insurance plan that wasn't usable at his practice, I decided to try another dental office. The hygienist at the other dental office was good, but each time I needed to see an actual dentist, I got a new young dentist. This last time, the new dentist said that I needed a new crown at a cost of $1500!! I found this diagnosis suspicious, so I called Dr. Grafton's office, and Madhu was able to get me an appointment with Dr. Grafton for the following week. Dr. Aaron Grafton had studied my most recent x-rays before my arrival and compared them to my x-rays from 6 years ago. There was no difference. Dr. Grafton examined my mouth and went over the various x-rays with me. I am very grateful for Dr. Grafton's (and Madhu's ) help! They saved me a lot of money and gave me peace of mind. I have made an appointment to return to Dr. Grafton and have him do my next cleaning and dental exam. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. I have what Dr. Grafton euphemistically calls "a challenging mouth." I went to Dr. Grafton for 20 years with my "challenging mouth" before having to move from the area. During my 5 years hiatus, I went to a number of dentists, looking for the same skill level, the same intellectual level, and the same common sense level as Dr. Grafton. They were just not to be found ... and my mouth suffered for it. I recently returned to Pleasant Hill. One of the first things I did was reconnect with Dr. Grafton. I cannot describe how good it is to be back in his care. Ron Grafton is an extremely talented dentist (plus being a good person). I was happy to see that his son Aaron is also now on his staff. ** BEWARE OF THIS DENTIST OFFICE AND UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES ** My last dentist I went to for many years retired last year, 2012 and this dentist "assumed" or took over all of the patients from the retiring dentist. Dr Grafton's office called ME for a cleaning appointment and never made any mention of insurance; they actually have the same dental assistant booking all of the new patients...I actually made the appointment with the same person I know from the past 8 years. I was always covered at 100% for preventative care...until Dr. Grafton. Here is the RUB, they TOLD me after treatment that my insurance didn't cover the visit 100% as I was always covered with my previous dentist. WHY, would you not know and advise your new patients of differences in coverage and lead them to believe there was no difference in coverage? Their "office manager" of 23 years...tried to tell me they didn't know my coverage didn't cover me 100%! RU kidding me? She has been doing this for 23 years and doesn't know how to read my coverage? They didn't have any "plan" to ensure new patients were told to at least verify coverage? They assuaged any thoughts I normally would have had to check, by using the same person I always worked with, book my appointment. And then hit me with a bill...VERY SNEAKY AND WRONG. THIS CLEARLY DEMONSTRATES A MISLEADING AND UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICE that is surely only the tip of the iceberg! They have taken no responsibility in the whole scenario and blame me even though my coverage has not changed. Do NOT use this dental practice if you value ETHICS AND INTEGRITY. I was solicited by their office after my dentist retired. Doctor Grafton's staff contacted me for an appointment. After I had my teeth cleaned, they informed me that I owed them money...my insurance has not changed. I NEVER have to pay for preventative care. Then the EVIL office manager told me I WAS RESPONSIBLE to know my coverage...just a tad condescending! I know my coverage hasn't changed...and they called ME! They are evasive, rude so unprofessional and are more concerned about the almighty buck OVER doing the right thing by ensuring I knew that they didn't take the exact same plan I am in network with. My family heard about the Grafton dentistry 4 years ago, and since then, we have all become patients. Both Ronald and his son, Aaron, provide excellent dental care. They are also willing to go the extra mile. An example of this is: Two nights ago, I lost a crown. It was located in the front are of my mouth. I was devastated because I could not go to work, looking like this. To make matters worse, there was a dental convention going on in SF yesterday and most dental offices were closed. Dr. Ronald was in the city, but his son, Aaron, had not yet left. So, he opened up the office for me and built me a temporary crown. I was able to go to work and continue on with my day. (His dad told me that, even if no one could help me, that he would build me a crown on Friday night or Saturday). That is how caring and generous they are!
