I live in California and my parents live in Chicago - so you how, you might ask, did I end up with 6 pints of Graeter's in my Bay Area freezer? My mother decided to have them OVERNIGHT ME 6 PINTS OF GRAETER'S as a surprise -- the chip selection (black raspberry, strawberry, mocha, peanut butter, vanilla, chocolate chocolate chip) -- it's all glorious and well worth the extra hours I'll have to put in at the gym to continue to fit into my clothing as a result of indulging in all this lusciousness. A wonderful gift for your favorite ice cream fanatic, fat ass, or some delightful combination of both ;) read more

Yea, I'm going there; Greater's is Great ice cream! I have had several different flavors and I have really enjoyed every one. Holiday Peppermint, Cookies and Cream, sherbets... Their ice creams are super creamy and chokc full of huge pieces of treats (like cookies). If you're into that kind of thing, I wholly recommend it. The staff there is mighty pleasant and I always have great service there. I look forward to eating all the ice creams! Plus the Clifton area is full of Indian restaurants so eat something spicy and then cool off! read more

I had been to the downtown location previously and didn't like the store. I will ALWAYS love the icecream but my opinion is that you shouldn't neglect your stores just because your product is amazing. So this store was a lot better than the downtown location. I still think they could make the stores better but at least this one was clean, with friendly staff and a lot of products to choose from! My favorite Graeter's store so far in Cincy! read more

So I suppose it's a tradition to come here whenever you're here in Cincinnati, so it's no surprise that I would make my way here. This is my first time here in town and I had no clue what/where to go. Upon asking a local waitress, she was adamant that I must try 2 places in town, Skyline's Chili and Graeter's Ice Cream. I tried the Black Raspberry Chip and Black Cherry Chip. It did not disappoint. The flavor/texture is unique. It was pretty good. However the chocolate chips were huge chunks and I think due to the ice cream making processes, sometimes it'll break it up into small pieces, which I like better. So that's the only issue with it, but I sure there are other people that may favor it more. Just my preference... Just saw Graeter's ice cream at the grocery store! And just couldn't help myself from purchasing some. read more

The customer service at this location was great. The two ladies working were so nice to me and my family. I went in after craving a shake and ordered a vanilla shake. My wife got the eggnog shake. We argued over whose was better. Naturally, we agreed to disagree but I'm almost certain mine was better! We were reminded that I had a birthday and I was given a free sundae which I thought was the coolest thing ever. I gave it to my 4 year old and he devoured it. Wasn't planning on giving him sugar that late but plans change right? We were three of five people in the joint and its set up really well for people watching so we sat for a while and watched....until my kid realized they sold candy! Something about eating ice cream on a cold night really warms me up (literally)! I've been here a few times and they are consistently good. What they lack in flavor options they make up for in every other areas. Not so humbly submitted, Michael C. read more

I tried their blueberry pie ice cream, and that was decent. A little too sweet for my taste though, and I think they definitely could've done more with the mixed-in pie crust -- it was honestly a little bland. A graham cracker or a heavy shortbread crust would've been perfect. The malt ball (I kept thinking this was "moth ball" when everyone was talking about it, hoho!) ice cream that I sampled was pretty durned good though. I'll probably get this the next time I'm at Graeter's. read more

The Good: THE BEST ICECREAM IN THE WORLD. Seriously I have yet to have one that tops the almost all variety's of Graeters (and I've had a lot of ice cream around the us/world). My absolute favorite is the mint chip. I'm saddened at the fact they took out the green food coloring because that was the only "unnatural" part of a brand that is going 100% natural. People eat with their eyes, this is almost as devastating to me as Pepsi Clear was back in the 90's. The Bad: It's all the way in Cincinnati, I can have it shipped that's a hell of an expensive way to keep myself fat. This place is also bad because I get very greedy and don't like to share my Graeter's. The Ugly: I eat this stuff by the pint other than the sheer amount of saturated fats and calories I intake I grew to be lactose intolerant a year or so ago. I power through it, lactase doesn't seem to help (and I've had 3 of them before a binge). Another note about Graeters where I am extremely upset is they got rid of the classic yellow cake with vanilla ice cream. This was topped with fudge and aside from their mint chip my favorite dessert hands down. If I were to be on death row for my last meal I would request Graeter's for my dessert. On a plus note I hear they'll be distributing Graeter's across all Krogers. Sadly they don't have on in Chicago, but I'm proud that my hometown Icecream is expanding their operation and going national (I just hope this doesn't compromise quality). read more

Graeter's ice cream is always a nice place to go after dinner. Pros: 1) Location- Ludlow is a nice street to walk around while eating your ice cream 2) The ice cream - Most people love the black raspberry chip ice cream but I prefer the brownie sundae, especially if you ask them to warm the brownie first. 3) The staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Cons: 1) Sometimes the lines can be huge, really not that big of a deal but it can get annoying Overall I would definitely recommend this place if you are hanging out in Clifton. read more

I feel a little guilty pooping on the local favorites (mostly chili), but here's a spot I felt was decent. Its not special, and its not "super premium" ice cream by most national standards. High overrun, and the texture is a little weird, I suspect I am also pickier about non-natural coagulants than your average joe, but hey I love my ice cream. Good effort at flavor variety. The chocolate "chips" are a bit overwhelming, as they can become really REALLY big chunks because of the process, but some people probably love it for exactly that reason. For a few bucks, its worth the adventure, and I recommend anyone try it once for the genuine Cincinnati/Midwest experience. Its good in comparison to the local peers, but I don't see any big city folk banging down the doors to bring Graeter's to their local stores. And as far as regional ice creams go, Blue Bell in Texas is always going to be the winner in my heart. read more

If you are visiting Ohio, or live there, this is a great place to go! They have good selections and tasty treats. Side Note: They also have dog treats that were a huge hit with my friends dog. Random, I know, but try them out. Not you, but your dog. ;) read more

I bought a vanilla chocolate ice cream cake recently and it was smelling real bad.. I believe they sold me an expired product or the cake that was not fresh!!! Update 11/14: Someone from Greater's contacted me and offered to refund or provide me with a fresh cake. It was nice for them to contact me and offer it. I declined the offer though!! read more

My sister suggested I visit here while visiting her. Great call!! My wife and I shared their bourbon sunday thinking it would be a great local tasted of Southwest Ohio and were not disappointed. The staff was extremely friendly and treated this outsider like a local regular. The sundae was great with the taste of bourbon mixed with the deep flavorful chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream that was soft and tasted like it just came out of the mixing bowl. On a side note, with the donuts being sold there too, I am surprised no one came up with a dish that would be something like a donut shortcake ice cream sundae contraption. I recommend Graeters to all who can hear this one! read more

Love their ice cream and try and stop by every time we visit Cincinnati. My favorite is their black raspberry chocolate chip. It is heaven!

While I agree I'm not big on ice creams, u was quite underwhelmed with the prof Co to taste. Maybe all the hype took to me and I carried over unrealistic expectations. For now it's meh for me. Will probably revisit in the summer. read more

What a disappointment. I absolutely love Graeter's ice cream but every time I come in this location I am so turned off by what I believe is the manager that I actually don't want the ice cream anymore. I'm not sure who the woman with the short hair and the black polo shirt is but the way she treats the employees is embarrassing and degrading. Also, there is an employee named Bingo that is not far behind her. No matter how friendly you two are to the customers if you treat your colleagues like garbage it shows. I normally don't think it's appropriate to call people out like this but I'm fed up with what I see every time I'm there. Please don't take this lightly. I saw both of you speak down to a young man working tonight 9/27/19 in a way that made me sick. He looked like he was on the verge of tears. No one deserves to be treated that way. And let me reiterate this is not an isolated incident. For the sake of your employees I hope someone sees this. read more

Excellent location, friendly staff (especially Kamal), and ice cream is super rich and creamy. A bit pricy, but get the double in a cup for a hefty portion (and you an get a to-go lid if needed). Or, get a mini cone for just the right amount of ice cream!!! read more

A Cincinnati classic! If you're in the area, you must go to Graeter's! Amazing ice cream and a very cute inside area to enjoy your sweet treat! read more

The ice cream here is great, the price is kinda high but ITS SO GOOOOOD. Also the staff is really nice. I go here a lot and I'm always very pleased with the service. read more

IF you have never been to Greaters, GO!!! Whats stopping you?! If its Oprahs favorite thing, you at least have to see what all the fuss is about! This is my favorite location for Graters!! The store is on the corner of Ludlow and Telford, and is also on the 17 and 19 bus stop! When you walk inside, there is an entire retail/bakery section where you can get fresh baked goods, chocolates and even some souvenirs to send to others who are missing out. I especially love the eat in at the several tables they have set up, which always have flowers or something in the center just to jazz it up. I also love how much detail the servers put into making somethign as simple as a sundae. No joke, last night I ordered a sundae with raspberry toppings, whipped-cream, nutts and a cherry and this man looked like he was painting a Picaso. Even the people behind us said how it looked jsut like the picture on the wall (which by the way, if you have not seen, they have giant framed photos of their ice cream all over which is awesome and kind of over the top/hilarious all in one). Check it out, especially at this location! There is always a line which tells me people keep coming back for more! read more

Graeters is, of course, a Cincinnati institution. I love their ice cream though I must admit I usually stick with simple flavors. Coffee being my go to flavor. Other people go on about the huge chunks of chocolate but to me it just seems lazy. Chop those chunks up for us dammit- you think I got all that time for chewing? The bakery has some nice items as well. I love the toffee cookies and the white glazed doughnut are very good, though I'm not in love with the name- Glazed Happiness. Seriously, don't make me asked for Glazed Happiness. The cheese crowns are a must on a Sunday with coffee. This is a location I can walk to so its where I usually go. The folks working there are always nice. I am not in love with the interior so I usually just order and leave. For some reason it feels like a place where they'd hose down prisoners before taking them to their cell. The lighting is harsh and just not pleasant. Aside from my picky gripes, I stop in quite often and recommend you do the same. read more

There are so many good ice cream options, and they have a bakery as well with free samples (at least in the afternoon). We were only in Cincinnati for 24 hours, but we went to Graeters after both dinner and lunch. We had the banana chocolate chip, the peach, and the Buckeye Blitz as the mini-scoops one time, and the other time we had passion fruit guava sorbet. It would be best done as an afternoon snack instead of after a meal, but if you aren't there long enough to do that, this is a definite stop however you can get it in! read more

Graeters Oprah-endorsed ice cream is a must-try for anyone visiting the city and a mainstay for the locals. This shop off of Ludlow serves as a great spot for people watching, picking up your bakery or confectionery needs, and grabbing a cone before one of the outdoor concerts in the park. I highly recommend the 1870 tower for yourself or to share. If you're a newbie, they sell mini scoops so you can try several flavors. I usually get the kids size - it's so rich and buttery that I don't usually want anything more than that! read more

Having only been to two Graeter's locations -- here and Colerain Twp. -- this is my favorite Graeter's. There are very few things finer than an afternoon of shopping at Mustard Seed and then eating a cheese crown or other delicious delight from one of Cincinnati's finest ice cream makers. The staff here is friendly and there's a great view from the small park area across the street. read more

Graeter's is a Cincinnati staple- and if it's good enough for Oprah to mail-order, I was happy to check it out. I tried the raspberry chip which is their classic flavor. It was sweet and creamy and quite good. This place is known for their excessively large chocolate chips. I took home a $5 pint to my fiance as a little surprise.Just be prepared to bring your own cooler as theirs aren't exactly inexpensive ($10 for a Styrofoam cooler seemed a tad excessive to me). read more

It's Graeter's, you can't go wrong. I like the proximity of this location to a bunch of cool things in the area. The seasonal blueberry pie is scrumptious! read more

Friendly staff and great ice cream as always! Parking can be somewhat difficult depending on the time of day though.

We were visiting from out of town and our friend said we absolutely had to try Graeter's. Apparently everyone else had the same idea.. it was after 9pm and the line was to the door. We didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes though, but the line grew and wrapped around the store behind us. Our friend was right though- the ice cream was delicious! I shared a with my husband- we got a double cup with toffee chip and peanut butter chip. I preferred the toffee chip to the peanut butter. -1 star for the service and the odd taste of the gelato I tried. I asked if I could sample the hazelnut gelato and frankly I thought it was nasty. It had a very weird aftertaste. I asked if I could try the peanut butter chip and got such a nasty look that I hesitated to try a different one. We guessed with the toffee (didn't sample it), and I ended up loving it more than the peanut butter. Our one cup with 2 scoops ended up being just over $4 (a little pricey but it was good). It really was delicious- I was only going to have a couple bites but ended up eating half of the cup we shared. read more

I guess if you're in Cincy, you gotta come to this institution right? That's exactly what I did for a late night snack and it does not disappoint at all. I went ahead and got the order of three mini cones which is exactly what it sounds like, three double mini scoops on separate cones. Make sure you get some flavors with their oversized chocolate chips in them as I quickly found out that's what they're known for. Oh yeah, their mint chocolate chip is white instead of green...I don't know why, but that seemed like something worth noting. read more

Oprah, you got it right! This place blew it out of the park with its ice cream. I got the blackberry chocolate chip ice cream. The large chocolate chunks didn't bother me at all as it had to other Yelpers. I found the chunks not to be hard, but very soft. It's sad that this place is only found in Cincinnati, but I will definitely be making an order from this place in the near future! read more

Late night ice cream cravings? This one is right next to the UC campus and is also conveniently located near my place. Whenever I get my ice cream cravings or one of my GFs gets it we will do random trips here. It's in a cute neighborhood too, Gaslight District. My favorite flavor so far is the the Buckeye. So good! read more

This is the worst location IMO, which is terrible because it's in my neighborhood. Every time I go in there are new employees (which makes sense because they are all young) but there is zero consistency in scoop sizes. Last time I went in and ordered a small cup, the size of scoop she gave me could have EASILY fit in the bottom of a kids cup. Why am I paying $3.50 for one tiny scoop of ice-cream?? I've even brought it to the managers attention in the past and they got an attitude with me when it was obvious the amount given to me was a lot less than it should be. It's a shame that I always leave disappointed. read more

I've never understood why people were overly fond of Graeter's. It's a nice place for ice cream, but I always found to to be pricey. I don't think the ice cream is that fantastic, but that's just me. read more

As a tourist and first timer visiting Cincy anyone will tell you that a trip to Graeter's is a must. People in Ohio love their ice cream and they want you to try Graeters and UDF and decide which one is right for you. I went with the black raspberry ice cream with chocolate chip chunks. The ice cream is great, I love anything fresh and locally made. Their are Graeters throughout the city and you need to try one before you leave. They have a long list of flavors and everything is very good! read more

Black raspberry chip is the mist try selection here and is what made Oprah proclaim it to be the best ice cream she had tried a few years back. They have fantastic seasonal selections that are always worth a taste and their bakery and confections are delicious. I will often stop in for Saturday morning donuts between ice cream trips. This little part of town is very nice as well and there are plenty of dinner choices on the street so that you can make this a dessert stop afterwards. Of course this place is worthy of a trip all its own! They sell pints in the Kroger owned grocery stores around the country if you are lucky enough to have once nearby. read more

I never really liked hard ice cream until Graeter's changed my taste for it! I have been to several Graeter's locations, and this one is as good as any.
