    Buckeye Ice Cream
    Robert W.

Graeter's is a Cincinnati staple and this was my first time stopping by. I decided to go with the Buckeye ice cream which was like a chocolate ice cream with peanut butter and fudge mixed throughout it. It was a really tasty ice cream, for a fairly reasonable price, not cheap but not terrible either. It was too much ice cream for me to finish so I had to give the rest to a friend, but it was really good and this site in particular is in a great neighborhood to explore. There is even a tiny park across the street with outdoor seating for you to enjoy your ice cream when the weather is too good to let yourself be trapped inside! Would recommend checking this place out!

How I haven't reviewed a Graeter's yet, I don't know. This is probably my seventh or eighth trip over the course of the past year and a half. In contrast to the other Graeter's I've been to, this Graeter's has ample seating which was perfect for this particular occasion because I got together with 11 friends. It's great for all the college students who probably fill it up frequently. With 11 people I was able to get some extra input for this review: - "It (the orange and cream milkshake) is very sweet, expected it to be orangier (more tart)" - "Wonderful in every way" - "Big chunks of fudge in the chocolate mixed with the fruity sweetness is just wonderful" - "The strawberry cheesecake is the best I've ever had of this flavor, lots of cheesecake chunks!" The staff was very helpful and for a Wednesday night, they were well staffed in the ice cream side with four employees. If you get a waffle cone, they make sure to stuff it first and then put the scoop on too, so you're getting a hefty scoop! Make sure to try samples if you are curious about a flavor!

Graeters is always consistent with excellent quality and great staff! Today I went in to buy goodies for Sunday's Bengal game! They didn't disappoint! A beautiful cake, and several differently decorated small cookies!

As others have mentioned, the ice cream is great. However, I am writing a review about their ice cream CAKE. I bought the chocolate fantasy cake for someone's birthday, and it was pure ecstasy. They only have one size for their cakes. It serves 12 people for $35. I was originally worried that the cake was too big because I only planned on serving 2 people but NOPE -- I am 100% positive that I can finish this entire cake ON MY OWN within a few days. The chocolate fantasy cake was the perfect balance of cake, ice cream, chocolate whipped cream, and fudge on top. The fudge oozes down as you slice into the cake. PURE ECSTASY. I wish Graeter's can serve slices of ice cream cake as well so I can resist buying entire cakes for myself.

I am not a big ice cream person but this place is sooo yummy! I was not expecting to be impressed with the flavors, but there were so many to choose from! Parking: easy! Loads of it. Ambiance: cute! I felt like I was in a fun diner. Ice cream: DELISH!

Best ice cream in the city and this is my favorite location! The flavors are always on point. This month (august) one of the seasonal flavors is key lime pie. It's out of this world!!! Literally tastes like the pie, tart, sweet, and massive chunks of gram cracker crust.

I love any place that gives out samples and won't shame you from wanting to make the best choice of dessert for the night! I went with a classic cookies & cream and while that might be plain, its texture and consistency was so good. Just the right about of hardness and perfect amount of oreo bits! Great place to stop by in Cincinnati.

Graeter's ice cream is a big deal in Ohio and I can see why. It was some of the richest, thickest ice creams I've ever had. I ordered the black raspberry chocolate chip and the buckeye blitz chocolate chip. The black raspberry flavor went real well with the chocolate chunks, and the peanut butter cookie dough of the buckeye blitz was nice and chewy. The other reviewers are not wrong when they mentioned large chocolate chip chunks in the ice cream. It gave a nice crunch and had just the right amount of bitterness to take the smooth, sweet ice cream to another level. I wish they had these outside of the mid-west, but for now, I'll always seek out Graeters when I'm there.

Due to street parking meters, this was perfect as the meters are free. (This is almost like being in Chicago and going to Garrett's popcorn, except having to hop out of the car at the store and then stand in line ...) Patty's reminds me of Garrett's popcorn out of Chicago, but with its own charm. You can see them making/mixing the popcorn behind the counter. Unlike Garret's they have a huge variety of candy. The employees were friendly and the person (manager?), opened a bag of cheese corn in order to give me a sample. The sample was beyond generous. Finally a popcorn place that has wet cheese! I was super impressed and walked out with their largest bag of cheese corn, some cheesy grippo's popcorn and the Chicago mix. My family from Chicago were all impressed with the mix. The chessy Grippos was spicy and fine, but not my style. I brought a bag of the Chicago Mix back after two weeks to the wife. It was still fresh enough and disappeared quickly. I look forward to my next visit to Cincinnati and stealing away from the family to get some of this great popcorn.

The staff is welcoming and is generous with the tastings: four of us tried around ten flavors in all! It was a hot day, so this was our last stop by the market, so it would not melt on the way home. We got some bold Rüya dark 65% chocolate, flavored with Turkish espresso, with a touch of traditional cardamom expressing welcome. The cardamom flavoring is milder in this chocolate than it is in mideast coffee. That works for us. We got two with mild bourbon flavors: the somewhat-sweet Prohibition, and the lightly-orange seasonally-available Old Fashioned (reminiscent of the cocktail). We also got some seasonal slightly-fruity limited-edition Thailand 70% chocolate, one of our favorites. And we grabbed an assortment of lighter and darker sweet creams and truffles. We used to watch the bean-grinder in action here. Last year moved it to a new factory on the Licking River across the river in Lexington KY, a town where they also opened a second retail location in 2024 that includes gelato! The aroma here is lovely and chocolatey and roasty. The chocolate is divine.

And, during Findlay Market's Fall Food Fest, their sample was hot chocolate -- which was probably the best hot chocolate I've had in my life. It wasn't overly sweetened: it was just the pure flavor of liquid chocolate made with care, good enough to savor slowly as I made my way through the rest of the festival, and to greatly regret when I finished the last of it.
