I went to Graef veterinary hospital just over a year ago and my only regret is not taking my senior husky there sooner. He was not eating so I took him to an emergency clinic who said he was fine. I wasn't okay with that and sent his lab work to Dr. St. Peter. As soon as we walked into our appt, she told me she was concerned and once she touched his belly, she immediately did an ultrasound and X-ray. She found a tumor. A month later, we had to schedule our appt to put him down. While it was the hardest time of my life, everyone there was amazing. They treated my boy with so much care. And when we put him down, we were given privacy and reassurance that we could take our time. Everything was so peaceful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend this hospital. They are also reasonably priced.

I used to love this place, but I'm pretty upset with how they handled an emergency Situation with my 6m old puppy. I brought her in on Friday for her to be spayed, remove a dewclaw that had been bothering her, and remove her baby teeth that had not fallen out. Surgery went well and she had two stitches on her back ankle. Saturday morning, the stitches had been taken out (they weren't tied very tight, and I'm not sure if my other dog had chewed them off of her while she was sleeping or if she rubbed it and they came undone) and the wound was open but not bleeding. I called to explain the situation and they asked me to email a picture, which I did. Now, I COMPLETELY understand that it was a Saturday morning and they were busy. I'm not upset about that at all. I'm upset that they asked me to send a picture and had absolutely no follow up. I wasn't sure if I should take her to the emergency vet, or what I should do to help her in the meantime. It seems very unprofessional to not follow up with a client in a possible emergency situation.

Today we had to let our dog go. The staff was amazing the Dr was outstanding and was there through it all. Thank you for making our last moments with him good ones.

I have been to another trainer before and what Daniel has taught me is so different. The way he is able to see the dog's body language, explain it to me, and react to it properly is crazy! He is very thorough and makes sure you understand what's going on before moving on. I have seen such a difference in Nova and her behavior even just after the first week, it's like two completely different dogs. Daniel is someone I would recommend to anyone struggling with their dog and I will never use anyone else for my future dogs.

We have a 100+ lb, 8-year-old German Shepherd named Tore with serious anxiety and aggressive…read morebehavior. He is a very intelligent dog and generally very obedient unless there is a stranger or another dog nearby, in which case he would become completely uncontrollable. We had paid many positive reinforcement oriented trainers to help us out when he was younger and less aggressive, which helped establish the obedience but did little to curb the impulse control and aggression. He was manageable for the first 5 years or so, but as we had kids and they got older we prioritized working with him less and less and he regressed into a very bad state. Up until about 6 months ago the aggressive behavior had never been targeted towards our family, however we had an incident where he gave my son a warning bit on the hand. My son had reached out to grab his collar to try to bring him inside and he didn't want to go. The bite was definitely a warning and not intended to do damage, but still left a rather deep puncture wound and an even deeper relationship damage between the kids, my wife, and the dog. Our vet recommended euthanasia. We contacted numerous trainers who were either unwilling or incapable of working with him due to his age and the bite incident. We finally happened upon Daniel who was provided to us as a reference from one of the trainers who said no. Daniel was the breath of fresh air that we needed. After a brief consultation, he very calmly and clearly explained the root cause driving Tore's behavior, much of which was frankly on us, which we expected. He felt confident Tore could be rehabilitated and that he could teach us how to manage him long term. Daniel accepted Tore into his 6-week board & train program where he takes the dog M-F, gives him back for the weekend, then starts again on Monday. Throughout the program Daniel provided updates on progress and was always available for questions. While this was not an overnight magic wand, we noticed an immediate and significant difference from that very first weekend that Tore was back in the house. We are now wrapping up week 7, the first week after conclusion of the program, and Tore's presence in this house is a night and day difference. There are still hiccups (he is 8 after all), we've had the growling incidents when he doesn't want to comply, and he still gets worked up at strangers and expresses anxiety in certain situations, but the key is that it is now manageable, and we can get it to stop without having to throw him in a different room. Further, it gets more quickly managed with each passing day and incident where Tore is put to the test. Do not get me wrong, Daniel will not help you if you are not willing to put in the work, and it is a lot of work. Full Stop. But I firmly believe that this man can rehabilitate any dog if the owner holds themselves accountable to the structure of the program. I appreciated Daniel's communication style, once I opened the door for it our conversations took on a more casual tone that I enjoyed. I felt and continue to feel that Daniel truly cares about Tore and has a passion for what he does. He provided quite a few add-on services that most would have charged for and he didn't. For example, he helped us manage Tore for a vet visit to take a look at a potential leg injury (in-office vet visits were something I frankly didn't think would ever be possible for this dog). He also offers boarding services at a very reasonable rate for his clients which is a huge win for us (he's boarding Tore for us this weekend so we can go see family for Thanksgiving). Highly recommend Daniel's services...and bonus - you're supporting a veteran owned business if you hire him.

Can I give them ten stars?! I won't lie, part of me kind of doesn't want to write this or say…read moreanything because I don't want to have to fight for my baby to have a great place to stay, but also as a truly psycho pet parent...I know, I'll own it... this place made my heart so happy. This was my third or fourth (can't even remember the others were so traumatizing) doggy daycare to visit. This is the only one that didn't instantly hit me in the face with the smell of urine or wet dog...eww. Also, this one has amazing staff members that actually seem happy in their jobs, not just hating their lives and overwhelmed by dogs. BHV takes a completely different approach to daycare than the others I saw. They keep the dogs in play groups of no more than 8-10 dogs. Others literally got as high as 40! I had a baby anxiety attack just watching it on the monitors. They let the play groups go outside and run around for around 20 minutes and play really hard, then that group goes back to their individual dog set up, which is NOT a crate! It's this precious little white picket fence area where the fence is 4-5 feet tall...pending height of the animals (they have a room for big dogs and a room for small dogs). You bring your baby's bed, stuffed toys, snacks, whatever they need, they provide water bowls, food bowls, etc. There is a big screen TV in all of the rooms where your dog will be resting for some background noise so that they aren't freaked out by every new sound. If you use the normal space with the picket fences, your babies can still see their friends "across the way" so they know they're not alone. During the approximately 1 hr to 1.5 hrs that your dog will be in the white picket fence area resting, there is one staff member coming around a few times to let each dog out to run down the hall and say "hi" to all of it's friends and get a little energy out, if it wants. You can also actually board your animal here over night...they have many levels of quite nice spaces (a couple suites are nicer than my bedroom LOL). This review is not about that, as we only use them for daycare. My dog and others that I've witnessed get so excited when pulling into the parking lot. Drop offs have become "mom, get outta my way, love you bye, I have friends to see". They post pics of the dogs throughout the day on social media so you can see your baby having fun. My husband and I have quickly fallen in love with this place, the lovely "hoos" that run it and even the fellow parents. It just seems like everyone loves being a part of this place. I have zero guilt about leaving my kid here, as I know she is having tons of fun and comes home a tired baby.

And the fact that my baby girl loved swimming in lakes and beaches seemed like this was meant to be. Thank goodness they offer pickup from the other clinic we had her at. That would've been tough for us to do. Lilia was super sweet and understanding even with my weird request of sending me a photo of Lucy to make sure the right dog was picked up. But thank goodness she suggested me sending her a photo of Lucy so she can confirm during the pickup. That made it a lot less painful. She texted me immediately on pick up that it was 100% my baby girl. Told it would take about a week but it ended up being 2 weeks. It was worth it with all of the extra things we got to keep in her memory. I had asked for an impression of her front 2 paws, one of her feet became deformed as she got older, a single paw print, a nose print, and her different colors of fur in a jar which I was really impressed she got all of the colors because I had just groomed my baby before she passed and her fur was short. I will take my future babies and recommend them to people in the future. She was so kind and understanding during one of our hardest losses. Thank you!
