I chose to have her cremains kept in a beautiful blue bag rather than an urn. I chose not to get a paw print or hair clipping, though both were offered. She will be placed in my pet cemetery in my backyard. The professionalism and kindness of the employees by Fond Memories staff was so helpful in a difficult time.

Many vets in town use their service, and it was going to cost an extra $65 for picking up her body and returning her cremains so I took her out myself. The staff there is extremely kind. I got to spend extra time with her in a mourning room. I was offered getting a lock of her hair and a paw print if I wanted, but I declined. I was told that I would probably be able to pick her up the following week I received a call about two days later. Her crews were presented to me in a beautiful satin blue bag. The ground was still too hard, so she is sitting on my altar, and though it has rained and the ground is soft enough to dig, the time is not right to say my total goodbye yet. I highly recommend Fond Memories.

They let me know about the option to do an "attended cremation" aka wake/viewing at their crematory location in Houston, which I opted to do. They also got all of my keepsake orders correct, and they were all done with the utmost quality. This Austin location offers a Pet Loss Support Group once a month, and I am SO GLAD I went as it was super healing and helpful for me to work through my grief of losing a pet. Aside from her not being returned to me on the date that they told me she would.. she returned to me in a damaged photo urn with white residue all over the outside and a full finger print in residue on the inside. It is very clear to me that the residue is from cremains of a pet. Mine or someone else's. Either way it is extremely disheartening that they had the audacity to return my beloved pet back to me in that condition. All they did was offer a new one, refund on that item alone, and keep saying "I am sorry". Do better Pet Meadow.. to some.. animals are our children.
