If there is a silver lining in the recent experience of having to cremate my cat Bellatrix, it is choosing Stardust and meeting the compassionate owner, Oscar. I originally called Stardust at the number on the website, but it went to voicemail. The voicemail mentioned sending a text, and that is truly an ideal communication style when you are close to tears at any moment. After texting the same number, Oscar, the owner, immediately texted back. He provided clear communication that was informative and helpful, but in caring and empathetic way. He was also willing to work his schedule to accommodate mine, which was appreciated. All of my communication with Oscar occurred over text with the exception on picking Bellatrix up and then bringing her back. Is Oscar as amazing in person as he is via text? Yes!!! He exudes empathy and kindness. It is evident that he really cares about the work that he is doing. In addition to great communication and stellar customer service, Oscar's care and compassion were truly personified in the final presentation of my cat. A custom wooden tag was made for Bellatrix's urn. Along with her urn, I was provided with a paw print, a vial of her fur, a vial of whiskers, and a sweet bunch of real flowers. 10 out of 10 recommend. read more

Update: received a response via email telling me that it was noticed that I had called multiple times and that they only respond if someone leaves a message. The phone disconnects and there is no option for a message. Next, I was told that they are getting other voicemails, so I had 2 neighbors try calling, same disconnect issue. Not real sure what is going on with this place, but after the phone silliness I would not use them now regardless. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It does not appear that they are in operation any longer. I have tried the phone multiple times over several weeks and it disconnects without answer. I tried their web contact and their email and crickets. The web pickup form was also down when I needed to schedule a pickup. This meant I had to let go of my beloved little one's remains much sooner vs being able to spend several hours with her after her passing. I was forced to go with a different place that was nearly $200 more for the same service. read more

We got the remains back three days later in a nice urn with her name inscribed on it, as well as a woodblock paw print, lock of fur, flowers and a card, all very nice and included in the set price. It's not often I feel the need to rave about a company, but Stardust was phenomenal and really made this whole terrible event of losing a pet much easier to handle. I booked their earliest time slot available for pickup on their site the morning my pet passed and within a few minutes they text to confirm and offered to come earlier which was great, I have a young child and was hiding the death from him, a 2 year old wouldn't be able to grasp the concept of death, and they were at my door about 3 hours later and were compassionate and quick. They engraved a wooden box of my choosing, and only had a few options to chose from as they were low in stock but even offered to order anything off Amazon if I didn't like the options they had, but what they had was just fine. They offered to a engrave whatever I wanted on the box, and delivered him back to me 2 days later at a time frame I chose. I was surprised to receive some flowers and Yoshi's pawprint in a personalized bag in addition to his urn and certificate of cremation. Overall, they really blew me away and went above and beyond. We had to say goodbye to our 18yo terrier after-hours in the night at an emergency vet. While they were wonderful, something did not feel right for us about leaving him there. While we were still at the hospital I texted with Stardust and got an appointment through their site for a morning pickup. My Tucky died tragically on 11-7. We were devastated. That day it happened, we buried him in our backyard thereafter without thought. Almost a week went by and the thought of my sweet boy outside just pained me; he was never an outside dog and in my mind, my Tucky was outside alone while we were inside. I reached out to Startdust cremation asking if it was possible to still cremate my sweetie even though he'd been buried for almost a week. He said it depended on a few things but not impossible, fortunately we'd enveloped him inside a bag then a blanket, which helped. Oscar came to pick up my Tucky on that Monday even though they were closed and carried my sweet boy to his car. He took great care of my Tucky Bear.
