I lost my 18 year old baby girl March 29th. We were in Port o connor when she crossed the rainbow bridge. I didn't have my head straight when we discovered baby girl had passed and chose the first place for cremation on Google, which was a certain animal hospital that when we got there said we would get her back in a month. After a few days my husband and I decided that that was too long and we found eternal waters online, watched the video of the process and liked that it was more environmentally friendly than traditional cremation. And the fact that my baby girl loved swimming in lakes and beaches seemed like this was meant to be. Thank goodness they offer pickup from the other clinic we had her at. That would've been tough for us to do. Lilia was super sweet and understanding even with my weird request of sending me a photo of Lucy to make sure the right dog was picked up. But thank goodness she suggested me sending her a photo of Lucy so she can confirm during the pickup. That made it a lot less painful. She texted me immediately on pick up that it was 100% my baby girl. Told it would take about a week but it ended up being 2 weeks. It was worth it with all of the extra things we got to keep in her memory. I had asked for an impression of her front 2 paws, one of her feet became deformed as she got older, a single paw print, a nose print, and her different colors of fur in a jar which I was really impressed she got all of the colors because I had just groomed my baby before she passed and her fur was short. I really didn't want to have to post this, because I don't want to discourage anyone from choosing aquamation for their precious furkids. They came out late morning to pick him up and she carefully placed him in a pretty basket she had brought with a nice blanket on him so we could say our final goodbyes. She was so kind and patient and willing to give us whatever time we needed with him while she waited outside. About 8 days later she returned him to us and I was honestly shocked at the care and detail they put into it. It all comes in beautiful packaging. It's taken me 2 months to write this, not because I haven't wanted to show my immense gratitude for Karen but because it was another step in acceptance of losing my best friend. It's hard to find the words to express how deeply grateful I am for Karen and what she does. No, so sadly, my questions were not crazy - as much as I wish they were. These are all very important and valid questions when choosing this service. Just before contacting Eternal Waters, we received some not so good news about our pup Maggie, and as this was our first time going through the process of cremation, we didn't know much about the process. We wanted to make sure Maggie was in the best hands possible after her passing. We called in, and Karin talked to my husband for a while on the phone, while we were searching for the best place for Maggie. She was very caring, answered a bunch of questions which everyone will have near the end of their companions' journey, and spent time with us as if we had known each other for awhile. Her and her husband Hector, went above and beyond our expectations for how to handle the passing of Maggie, before and after. We choose aquacremation because we felt fire cremation was a little extreme, and by talking to Karin we were educated on the process. This method is much more peaceful, more natural, and it's eco-friendly. We couldn't be happier with our choice. We got Maggie back in a very ornate wood-carved box, some nicely placed hair in wide glass jar that has her hair wrapped around like a rainbow, and a white clay paw print imprint. We also got a letter from them for our loss, some paper hearts that can be grown into flowers, and an official certificate of cremation. This couple really cares for the customer's pet as if they were their own. They spent a long time with us, with great patience, and can't imagine recommending any other place to have a loved companion handled with extreme care, in a natural process. When I found out our 13-year old cat had terminal cancer I called Eternal Waters right away to inquire about the process so I could be prepared for the day our kitty would pass away. I am so grateful for the service that Karin provided for my sweet boy during a very difficult time.
