This is a hard post for me to write, so bear with me but I must give a massive shout out to all the care, professionalism and support that I received from Schertz Animal Hospital and Bluebonnet Pet Crematory. When we had our beloved pet euthanized, the veterinarian that came to our home, coordinated with Bluebonnet to manage the cremation (although I believe they also provide a burial option as well). We got a copy of our baby's paw in plaster, a personalized urn with her ashes, a lovely plaque and touching card signed by those who managed our loved one. And it was all delivered to our home by Bluebonnet! They called twice to see how we were doing since our loss and offered a resource for meeting with a group of those who had lost pets recently. Our experience was stellar! Our baby was 150 lbs +, so the management of their body was intensive, but we watched them gently manage her as if she were a sleeping child. The expense is reasonable and I had my baby's ashes with me in 72 hrs-the longest we'd been apart in her 12 yrs of life! From our family's experience, we highly recommend this service provider. If you're reading this, our hearts go out to you because that probably means your loosing a vital part of your family - and I'm so deeply sorry for your loss! Hi I'm Danny. I'm currently in california with my husband who's in the US Navy. My mom told me that sadly our family cat had passed away and I was worried I wouldn't be able to cremate her body so not only her spirit but her body will be with us forever. They were able to receive her body as the facility still had it, thank God, and they gave me a call back very soon and talked pricing and what I wanted our fur baby to have in remembrance. Everything went so smooth, the Woman on the phone was so patient and soft spoken it made me comfortable and to give a military discount for me was so kind. I never thought to ask as I'm still mourning our cats death. This all happened within one day 08/10/23. I will definitely recommend here, even if it's your first time like mine, cause the prices are so reasonable and your baby will be treated with the utmost respect as they go through heavens doors and start their angelic lives with the other previous fur babies playing and enjoying catnip or even dogs too! All precious pets I pray made a safe and unpainful journey to heaven. At the time of sadness it is very difficult to make decisions about your beloved pet. Bluebonnet does a great job in assisting with your cremation of your pet. It was sad to say this is the second time I have used Bluebonnet. The first time when my 13 year old Great Dane (Duchess) passed away. We had wrapped her in a basket then put her in a huge box that we happen to have at the time. We tapped her up and Bluebonnet picked her up. We were told that she would be returned to us in 3 days. I had to call a week later but it really wasn't a big deal to us that she was late coming back home. They gave me a refund for delivery charges. She came home in a wooden box. Hard to look at a small box that contains the remains of a Great Dane. Yesterday our 17 year old Lab (Sexy) passed away. I was on my way out but decided to check on her. She had passed already. I called Bluebonnet to see if pick up was available before my kids get home from school. It wasn't so my niece and I wrapped her in a blanket and I put her in a huge shopping bag. I dropped her off to the office. When you come into the office it's very different. You get more of a one on one experience. They offer different urns and choices. Worth stopping by and taking a look of their inventory. The lady (I didn't catch her name because I wasn't thinking at the time.) asked me if I wanted a snip of her hair and a paw print. I said no. I have a foot print of hers in an album at home. She asked me if I wanted to keep her remains. I guess some people don't. She was very nice she was funny too but I was still sad I couldn't really think of holding a long conversation. Stars 1 star for service 1 star for affordable rates 1 star for facilities 1 star for overall experience 1 star for clean bathrooms and good parking. I called Bluebonnet Pet Crematory upon my pets passing. I left a message for them to call me so we can arrange to have my pet cremated. No one respond to the voice messages left even after 4 days after the first original message left. Luckily my vet called and stated there was other options beside Bluebonnet. I don't understand how a business can't follow up with message left especially during a time of someone needs a service provided. I won't do business and I won't recommend this business. The owner of Bluebonnet was simply amazing she was very caring, patient and understanding. My husky Nanook who was loved dearly was taken good care of they provided a beautiful wooden urn with his name engraved and paw print. I would recommend this place to everyone it was far from my home in San Antonio but worth it. Dr. Killian from gentle pet passages referred me to Bluebonnet he was there to help my Nanook during this sad time at my home. . We are very disappointed with Bluebonnet pet crematory. My wife scheduled a pick up from our Vet 2 weeks in advance in preparation to have our pet put down. They left us hanging, never showed up, never responded to our phone calls. There we were mourning the loss of our pet and no where to take him. Unacceptable!! This place is amazing, all things considered. Everyone was compassionate and we felt safe leaving our dog there for cremation. The lady refers to the pets as "babies," instead of just "animal." We walked away with a great feeling, knowing our pup was in good hands. We are extremely pleased with the package we bought and the price was phenomenal. The lady helping us went above and beyond. I requested a paw print on plain paper and she was more than happy to oblige. Should my family ever need such a service again (we will), we will definitely be coming here. read more

I am so disappointed in his business. I have gone to them for years and can honestly say they have lost their heart. My fist pet was $50 to cremate and came in an urn with his name on it. My second and third pet were $75 to cremate despite being the same weight and came in blank urns but they included several grieving gifts. My last pet (same weight) was $110 to cremate and came in a blank urn that didn't come with anything not even a certificate. All this would be fine if the employees hadn't been so incredibly rude and insensitive. When I came in to drop off my dog, I was visibly in tears and the guy at the desk asked "so are you having a good holiday?" I ignored him and left my pet. When I went to pick him up he joked "welcome to the holiday season huh?" To which I made an angry face. He then asked "so did you have a good Christmas and New Years?" To which I replied "well my best friend died 2 days after Christmas so no it wasn't good!" Neither he or the woman at the desk apologized. I am disgusted with the insensitive employees. If you can't put yourself in the place of your customers you should be working in the back. I had never dealt with either of those employees before so I'm not sure what happened to the older lady that use to handle the front desk. They have become all about the money and not at all about helping you during a heartbreaking time. I absolutely will never trust them with any of my future pet cremations and have encouraged all my friends and family to do the same. read more

I have no words to express how kind & comforting Bluebonnet was from my first phone call till the end of this heartbreaking process. My boy passed unexpectedly at home so I was referred to them by a local vet clinic. Judy guided us into a room immediately after we walked in their door. She took care of us like family or a long time friend. She gave guidance when needed at times when my emotions took over. Intuitively, she just seemed to know exactly what I wanted! I knew from the second we walked in I had brought my beloved Little boy to the right place. I knew he would be handle as if he were their own. The relief I felt from that alone was tremendous. To have to go through such a tragic loss was beyond heartbreaking. The love & compassion I received from Judy throughout the whole process was immeasurable & helped my healing process begin. When I picked the ashes up I was blown away again. They had packaged the urn & my other remembrances very lovingly. I left there, both times, after dropping him off and picking him up in awe at how wonderfully I was treated & how blessed I was to have found such loving people. I used them for my dog's cremation and was very pleased with their service. They allowed me to be there for the entire process, which was important to me as I wanted to know the ashes I was getting belonged to my dog and only my dog. After meeting them I would not be apprehensive about that anymore, they are honest people and truly care about the animals they are working with. I drove out of San Antonio to Go to Bluebonnet where it seemed he would be properly taken care of & returned to me. It was exactly what was expected & needed at such a grief filled time. They were welcoming, they handled his body with care, they understand that pets are family & the pets that are taken to them are loved. They returned him to me quickly. I cannot say enough about Bluebonnet and the level of professionalism, caring and support they provide. They have taken care of two of my kitties in the past. I had received their services through my veterinarian. The last of the three kitties I moved to Texas with in 2008, Sammie who was 16, got really sick in the middle of the night two days after Christmas. I had to take her to emergency where they kindly let her rest so she could cross the Rainbow Bridge to be with her two sisters. I paid a little extra so they could hold her for two days to allow Bluebonnet to pick her up. When I called Bluebonnet, on a Sunday, no less, Judy was super kind and compassionate at a time when I really needed it. On Tuesday morning, they called to let me know Sammie was ready to be picked up. I drove to their business location and let me tell you, you could not meet a better group of people! They took the time to listen to me about how much I miss Sammie and how much she meant to me. They even shared stories about their own pets and how much Sammie reminded Judy of her own kitty she once had. The best thing anyone can do is drive down there because they have a wonderful variety of urns, mementos, jewelry and anything else one can have as a keepsake of their departed pets. They even gave me poems and information on a pet grieving group to help me cope! As long as I am living in San Antonio and the surrounding area I will not have any other place handle the remains of my beloved pets. There aren't kind enough words to say about Judy and the staff at BBPC. It seems as if every time I have needed their services, it has been on a weekend or near closing during the week. My first visit many years ago was on a Saturday afternoon. My pet literally died in my arms that day. I was distraught and beside myself. I actually caught them on the way out of the office for the day, but BBPC waited for me even though I was a good 45 minutes away. They blew a big portion of their Saturday afternoon patiently and thoughtfully listening to me grieve.That visit won me over forever.I currently live 50 miles away and have called BBPC before at 4:30 pm during the week a couple of times and they waited for me and stayed with me until late into the evening while I grieved during the cremation process. Judy's only concern in re to the time was that I take my time driving so I could arrive safely; she would patiently wait for me. She made a paw print of my service dog and cut off some locks of his fur for me and let me be in on the process so I knew I was getting my dog's ashes. Judy let me take as much time as I needed to say goodbye. My gosh, how to you put a rating on that kind of caring, considerate, COMPASSIONATE and selfless service? BBPC will give up their free time if need be to serve grieving pet owners. I have never been to BBPC when it was convenient for them, but they have always taken care of me like I was family and the only person in the world.
