We walk in about 10:15 and since it's his first time, I assume there's paperwork and I need to send his shot records. The first thing out of her mouth is "We cant take him. There's no kennel space." I explain why I'm there and why we showed early. I explain I have an appointment I need to go to and she tells us while with every bit the smart attitude you'd expect from she/them (that's on the appointment reminder), "Well that's why we tell you guys to make it at a time you can show up because I'm fully booked." Ok. So you assume in the next 20 minutes that everybody will show up and pick up their dogs on time? And you guarantee that you'll magically have the space for my old 11lb dog? Pull the video. Tiffany is doing an excellent job running the grooming department. My pups are super special and each have quirks. Regardless, the groomers make me feel confident that they'll give my puppies love and attention. Quinn always lets me know how the appointment went, which is super reassuring . Took 15 minutes for the groomer to ask a manager if they could groom him because according to her although he just got his shot his rabies shot that he just had not even three weeks ago had no expiration date. Then comes back and tells me she has to call and verify he had his shot like I am out here running around faking documents that you are look at in your hands. The initial conversation started by her telling me he might not let her groom him since he hadn't had it done before even though he allows me to do it. She worked to help us practice positive reinforcement. We did the 6 week group session of Fundamentals training. We learned basic commands, and we were taught better ways to deal with my pup's crazy energy that used to come out in lots of barking/ jumping/nipping/attention-seeking as well as how to help teach him impulse-control. Do not waste your time or money for pet grooming. We brought in my 2 small dogs for the normal clip/wash/nails etc. package for each dog. We moved back to Texas a few months ago so our dogs shot information was partially with our new vet and partially with our old vet. I did call the old vet and they said they did email our shot records to Petco however the groom department said they hadn't received anything (which is very possible) . On our Petco profile my husband also added Vet name and contact information since we're unable to find the shots all prior to our visit. Visit day 1. The pet folks were unable to find that information on profile and were very rude about it. So we had to reschedule for the following day. Spent the next minutes making sure all the vaccination information was current with Petco for the following day appointment. Visit day 2. Instead of normal $50-60 per dog bath/nail etc. they up charged with additional non sense I did not request and did clip one of the dogs nails which is a big deal since that dog has long nails. Next surprise was this 100-110 visit ended up being closer to 200 dollars due to these meaningless up charged services. The hair cut for both dogs is so uneven they both will have to be re-clipped. The dogs smelled nice but that seems like the only thing that happened. My husband called back and spoke with manager. Maggie or Megan (not sure on her name) did not provide any reimbursement for the horrible haircuts instead she offered us to come back and let him speak to the head groomer which explained what they "did". Nearly 200 for two small 9 lbs. dogs was a discounted charge. Save your money find a local groomer that is polite, cares about service and the quality of their work. Very disappointing. read more

GROOMING has horrible customer service: after coming to this location for grooming numerous of times I have had a good experience until the groomer Keith messed up on my yorkie, I'm not sure if he was having a bad day but he should not have been working with dogs that day my dog returned home extremely itchy and did not smell fresh which has never happened before after years of grooming and the bandanna that was tied around his neck was so TIGHT that I had to cut it off of him!! The manager a young Caucasian guy with black hair and glasses I believe his name was ( Edwin Cal) was horrible he DOES NOT need to work there he made the situation worse by not letting my dog be groomed over or even give me my money back he also claimed that he DOES NOT CARE if we tell on him to his boss or corporate because they are not going to do nothing to him and he will still have this job. I'm so disappointed and hurt by Petco customer service and how myself and my dog was treated at this location. read more

Went in today after coming in a week ago to see a red eyed skink they have for sale. Last week the skink wasnt visible so I asked questions about it was reassured it was in there and decided to come a few days later to see it after doing my own research at home on them. I came in today and spoke with Ashlyn the store manager about it since it still wasnt visible and the tank light wasnt on either. I asked if I could just see it through the top, specified I didnt want to handle it since I had read they dont care to be handled. She then said I could not see the Skink unless I guaranteed buying it. What pet store or anything associated with the distribution of animals refuses you to see the animal you are interested in without guaranteeing before seeing it that you are going to purchase it, especially being a 250$ skink? The manager was very condescending to me, so I walked away from the situation and tried to speak with another younger employee male with long hair and had gave him the reminder I was in just days ago and talked with him about the skink and was in fact interested in it to which he then went back to the same girl Ashlyn and came back and rudely said sorry we cant help you and when I asked why or how it made sense to not allow a customer to see the animal before the purchase he just said "thats store policy Ill lose my job otherwise". This store manager, as she claims, disgusts me as someone whom works and cares for animals and treats people with the lowest amount of respect. read more

Dishonest. Seemed to care more about money than my dog's health and safety. I took my dog to get groomed here. When we picked him up we were told he did not like having his nails cut. The next day I noticed my dog cry when we grabbed his paw and that one of his nails was totally cracked all the way up to the nail bed. I felt very angry that they didn't say anything about cracking one of his nails. It's no wonder that he didn't want them coming near his paws. If we didn't find it he could have got an infection. That's not okay. They seemed to care more about looking good than being honest or caring for my dog's safety. They also added services to his grooming without mentioning that it was going to be an extra $30. Granted, I should have asked before leaving him, but it still felt like a sleezy scammy tricky business practice. Even Chipotle lets you know that the guac is going to be extra and makes sure it's okay before piling it on. He was clean and soft afterwards. He smelled really good and was trimmed nicely. No complaints there. The whole reason we brought him to PetCo was so that he could get a safe nail trimming without being hurt. Didn't get that. Now I wish I would have just done it myself and saved the $60, because he would probably be in less pain now. I can't trust this place if it seems like the employees care more about making money than honesty or my pet's well being. read more

Had my dog nails cut here. Paid 22.00 which I thought was a little high but don't mind pay for good work. I should have checked when they we're finished but I didn't my mistake. I got home and checked her nails later that day and they didn't even cut some of her nails. Will not be going back and very disappointed in their work. read more

The vetco here is so inefficient and impractical. For some reason they schedule their appointments 7 minutes apart despite the fact that it takes them at least 15. Now the line is completely backed up & you're waiting for over an hour for a 10-15 minute appointment. The model is simply inefficient and I feel bad for the tech in the front that has to deal with all of the angry customers over something that the business/higher ups decided. Just go somewhere else, I waited over an hour because of their inefficiency & my dog had an awful experience since there's like 3-7 dogs all waiting in that little area. read more

Still a great place to take your animals and meet all your pet needs! I have read previous comments about the staff not being helpful, and I must say that, we have only ever experienced great things at this Petco and customer service has always been friendly and helpful. We recently enrolled in dog training classes and are at this Petco on a weekly basis. We have never seen any mistreatment of any animals from the staff, only shared loved for animals and sincere affection for the animals. The dog training is awesome and Katie is fantastic! She listens and is very patient. She offers a very relaxing atmosphere and will answer any questions and will help cater the learning experience to any behavior/trick you would like to teach or unteach your dog. Our dogs' behaviors have greatly improved! They listen better, are more obedient, and extremely attentive to us now. We have learned how to communicate to our dogs, and wow, has it made a difference! We have taught new commands and have reinforced some basic commands such as, "sit" and "stay", but most importantly, we have learned how to get our dogs to be attentive to us no matter the environment. Their behaviors that we did not approve of at home have improved to the extent of becoming non-existent, now that we know how to communicate our expectations to them properly. Our dogs enjoy this class as well and love going to this Petco, where they are greeted with lots of positive affection and cookies. read more

I take my chihuahua here to get groomed. She is very shy and doesn't like anything to do with grooming but Valen & Kat are always very patient with her! My chihuahua always comes home looking and smelling amazing! We take my stepmoms basset hound as well who loves going and getting her nails painted! Overall this is a good store with friendly people. They can be a little slow Getting to the register but they always greet you with a smile! I've taken my dog here for vaccines and won't be going back to the vetco due to the vet saying my dog was going to be at least 50-60lbs (she's a pug Chihuahua mix) even though she looks purely pug and it said what she was on the paperwork. Clearly they don't pay attention and don't know their breeds. I still can't figure out what breed they thought she was. So besides the vetco experience, the store is very small so they don't have tons of selections. Workers are usually quite friendly. read more

I'm extremely concerned about what I just saw in this store. While checking out I noticed the groomer being extremely rough with a small dog on the grooming table. The dog understandably was slowly moving his head away from her and she grabbed the hair on top of his head and jerked it back to her. The dog cowered and the groomer laughed. When We picked up our dog the first thing we noticed was how scared she was. She has never had any problems before. I then noticed all the long spots and began to see the poor quality of the grooming. I then asked the employee if there was any notes of her having any issues during the grooming. She replied I don't see anything but let me ask the a manger because all of the groomers have left. When the manager approached one of the first things he told me was that I was a liar and she looked fine and I wasn't going to get a discount . I never once asked for a discount I only asked about the well being of my dog. I was not concerned about money I was concerned about my baby. I replied excuse me!? He told me that I try to pull this all the time and stated I had been to another location I had never heard of. The last time I took my dogs was in July and had only taken them one other time prior . Both of which were not the location he stated. At this point he was blatantly disrespectful . I asked for the contact and name of the Gm . He wouldn't give me the info. He did tell me his name was Evan. I asked him why he was so shaky and hostile. He said he wasn't but even the other employee looked and tried to hide her laugh at his clear shakes. I had some words I really wanted to express him being a manger but kept them to myself with the kids present. I was more than upset with Evan with the attitude and name calling in front of the kids. Now if you want to talk about frustration from the money side. Was quoted one price initially by groomers for him to charge me way more. I assume it was an emotional reaction on the mangers part. Only thing I complained about was he closed the transaction so fast and aggressively he didn't give me the opportunity to tip the groomers. read more

I have never used them as a groomer. This review is strictly about store service. I took my daughter here at 8pm to buy a hamster and all the necessary supplies. We looked at the hamsters and all the supplies. Picked one out and looked/waited for help for 20+ mins. No one ever helped us so we left and made our purchase at petsmart. Btw as we left the cashier thanked us for coming to which my hubby replied we were going to make a purchase if we'd gotten some help. They didn't care and we ended up spending $100+ at petsmart, not a great way to keep business. read more

This is a review for GROOMING: My poor old 14 year old dog needed grooming. She had had a bath at the vets 2 weeks before this, so she wasn't a mess or anything. When I set the appointment up I explained that she was old, and that she had problems standing for long periods. They told me that that would be a special appointment for 8:15, to make sure that she can get in and out quickly. They said it would be the "manager" doing her. She needed a sanitary shave because of incontinence issues. She finds going in the car very stressful, and when I got there the "manager" of the grooming said, oh, no we can't do her. I don't know who you talked to, but we need 2 people scheduled. There was no-one there but her and 2 other groomers doing *nothing* and I got the feeling that she just didn't want work at all. I got the feeling that there were some major work culture issues with the grooming area. She said "we are just thinking about what is best for your dog." What BS!!! Wasted my and my poor dog's time. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME LIKE I DID!!! read more

Recently moved from Arizona and they were able to transfer all of our pups grooming info from their old system into the new . Did a great job on his bath , shedless treatment and nails ! Only reason for 4 stars is it took me 3 try's to make the appt , when I finally got ahold of someone I was on hold for almost 15 minutes . I think it's a new location so it's very nice !
