It's a shame because I used to really like them, but this time around, I scheduled around work for my appointment today at 2pm and had postponed my dogs bath from last week cuz they couldn't accommodate until today only to find out that the person I spoke with booked us for tomorrow instead Even though I have a witness, my calendar and my phone transcribes calls for me and it was all confirmed for Tuesday. The girl on the phone was extremely rude and short tempered, basically accused me of lying and said either keep Wednesday or cancel and didn't ever apologize or seem concerned about loss of business, time, etc. if you don't value my business, then you won't get my business. This is why phone etiquette is important, because my dog and I always enjoyed going here before this situation was handled so poorly. I'd rather pay more to be treated respectfully (not that they were inexpensive by any means). read more

August is truly amazing! He answered my call right away when I reached out to schedule an appointment. I have a Siberian Husky, and he's clearly the go-to expert when it comes to this breed. I explained that it had been about a year since her last grooming and that she had just lost her husky brother -- this would be her first visit to the groomer without him. August was incredibly compassionate and made sure Sierra felt loved and cared for throughout the entire experience. He kept me updated during the day, which I really appreciated. I had my two kids with me during both drop-off and pick-up, and he was so patient and accommodating with all of us. Sierra looked like a brand-new dog when I picked her up. August truly went above and beyond, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with her grooming. Thank you so much, August! read more

"The people at Paw Spa in Gruene, TX are kind and caring with my scaredy-cat old dog, and the grooming is generally done well."

After about a month of researching and reading hundreds of reviews, I decided to have my 4 month old golden doodle groomed by The Paw Spa. After realizing how much hatred there is for doodles in general, I was so incredibly nervous to leave her anywhere. But I took the risk and I am so glad I did. Kayla was my puppy's groomer and I immediately felt comfortable leaving my fur baby to be attended by her. She offered a few of her recommendations, with it being my dog's first cut, and also took the time to listen to our requests. The full grooming took around 4 hours. I arrived there to pick her up and she looked fantastic! She wasn't crying or making a fuss when I got there which showed me that she had a good experience with Kayla. I am excited to bring her back! My only issue (rather annoyance) was that this suite is located next door to a cigar shop which makes the entire unit reek of cigar smoke. But again, this is no reflection on The Paw Spa itself as a business, just a minor negative for me. read more

was a bit nervous bringing my dog in, as it had been months since his last grooming due to an injury. This was my first visit to The Paw Spa, and all I can say is--WOW! The entire experience was fantastic. I appreciated the phone check-in during his grooming, and when I picked him up, he was fully dry, beautifully groomed, and smelled amazing! His coat was soft and fluffy, and the cut was perfect. The staff was wonderful, and August (groomer) did an incredible job. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I've gone here a few times and had great experiences until the last time:( I brought my 3 pups in and they were taking a really long time. I called up and the owner said Sweet Pea needed "extra time" because she needed to be hand dried. My husband got them back at the end of the day without a word about issues. When Sweet Pea walked in I noticed her eye was shut. I thought it was pink eye and left a message to warn the owner. When I took her to the vet the next day it turned out she had been badly poked in the eye. It took over a month of meds and she now has a blind spot. It's one thing to have an accident. It's another to keep it from the client. If I had known it was an injury I would have taken her to the ER. I wonder if she would not have that blind spot had we been warned. read more

I am from Manor and have a difficult time finding reliable groomers. I visit my sister in New Braunfels often and decided to look up groomers in the area for my boys. I ultimately decided to give the guys at Paw Spa a try, because they consistently answered their phone, were able to get me in within a few days, and their prices were great. Tabitha took such good care of my babies and I could not be more pleased with the results! My smaller little guy is getting old and he has become such a grouch. I am very thankful for her patience and will definitely return! read more

Best dog grooming in NB! The grooming is always on point and the staff love my fur babies. My Aussie and my Poodle/mini Aussie get the best treatment here. The only setback is the cigar place next door, that smoke is so strong there's a slight smell in the building. read more

They've always done great job on my Dahlia, I have been coming here since I moved to New Braunfels in June of 2021. Alyssa is her groomer, and always asked if there's anything different I want done to her. I highly recommend The Paw Spa! read more

I have been taking my Saint Bernard here since they opened and I will not take him anywhere else. John is the best! He met Kleetus, my Saint, when Kleetus was about 3-4 months old (before the paw spa opened) and now Kleetus is 10 y/o. John does such a great job. Kleetus is 160lbs of stink, grime, and everything gross when I drop him off but comes home looking like a show dog. I have no idea how John does such an amazing job every time. It can be hard sometimes to get an appointment but that is only because The Paw Spa is the best place to take your dog. read more

Ehhhhh so so. They don't put other dogs in kennels. They do great grooming. It's not entirely clean. I've been to plenty of groomers that aren't dirty w dog hair flying everywhere but at the same time it's a small building, it's probably a challenge. I would give the customer service 3.5 of 5. They are very kind and compassionate to pets. read more

my dogs love John and they feel very safe there and they do a awesome job. we've been going there for five years.

Have been going to the Paw Spa for the last 4 years and have always been extremely pleased with the way our three Papillons have been groomed. The help from the friendly and personal staff is exceptional. Their grooming knowledge and information regarding pet food and health products has been greatly appreciated. Once a month we make the 4 hour drive to Corona and have never been disappointed. The Paw Spa also provides a remarkable teeth cleaning service that is very important for our dogs dental health. It's a wonderful happy place for our babies. Byron and Nancy read more

I've been going to Paw Spa for about three years now. We live down the street and love the convenience of taking them there on the golf cart! My two shelter pups have issues. Dottie wouldn't even walk to the door, so scared. Now she runs off the cart before I even put the breaks on!! She loves seeing John and playing with all the dogs! My other little guy Buddy has heart issues and John is so gentle and compassionate making sure he doesn't get too worked up. I can't imagine going anywhere else, truly a caring place to take your pups!!! I call it Spa Day with plenty of fun! Thanks to John and his amazing staff. read more

I would give way more stars if I could. This place is the best ! All the staff treats your pet like their own. My little guy gets so excited to see his groomer every other week. He ran right over to her today. He always leaves so happy and looking great. Avery is our go to gal but no matter who grooms your beloved pup at the paw spa it will be like a luxury stay for them. Super fantastic!!! Pup looked great and acted like he liked being there. Will go back.

All I have to say is, AMAZING. I took my dogs to The Paw and Spa yesterday for the first time and I didn't regret it. I even scheduled for the next month. They have reasonable pricing, awesome staff, friendly people, and I love how they don't crate your dogs. I stopped going to Pets Smart because of how terrible they cut my dogs hair, never listen to what I wanted, and had horrible attitudes. I told the lady that works at The Paw and Spa everything that I needed for each one of my dogs. When I came to pick up my dogs, there was zero problems, and for the first time I had everything I wanted done PERFECTLY. They cleaned their ears, made sure there was no more hair in their little ears, they shave their body perfectly, cut their nails a good length, and came out smelling good!!!! I recommend this business to anyone looking for an amazing groomer. XXOO read more

Alyssa is my pups favorite groomer!! Romeo and Juliet always look their best after she's put her magic hands on them. Romeo only lets Alyssa trim his paws, and Juliet just loves all the extra attention that she gets. When I drop them off, Juliet scratches at the door to get in, she just cannot wait! We love the Paw Spa! They have taken great care in grooming Doodle & Mookie. We've been with John for years and he continues to add great people to his team. Great location too. I also love the way he points something out that might be a potential health problem for your pet so you can get them treated properly. read more

Popped in and brought my buddies German Shepard, Artex in for a quick bath and grooming. The gentleman ( who apparently is also the owner) was super super friendly. He took Atex and too my surprise the usually and annoying jumpy dog just followed John to the back after I got him all checked in. I was also surprised that they had an availability since I had seen people in an out of the place pretty frequently the past few days! I ran a few errands and came back to find Artex looking good. He was calm and actually felt really clean and soft! It really does feel like the owner LOVES the dogs and it comes across in his work. The slogan they had on their brochure was " The Place Where Every Dog Has Its Day"... I loved it! I recommend this place highly it was like leaving the dog with a friend not a facility! read more

I moved to New Braunfels in October and needed to find a new groomer for Veronica, my standard poodle. When I went to John in November, Veronica was overgrown and matted. She also had some spots around the ears that had been done badly by her last groomer. John did a great job with her and gave me a plan for shaping Veronica's look over the next few visits. He spent much longer with her than was estimated and kept me informed by cell phone so I didn't worry. As a nervous owner who had just moved to the area, I can recommend John both for his work with Veronica as well as calming my nerves. We're going back to him this month. read more
